External Missions
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Survey Mission 3A
General debriefing: Witnesses reported incidents of a sighting of potentially a black dog in the remote woods of a neighbourhood in northern *IRELAND*. Local animals have been found mangled or missing. Dispose of the creature and return with a report of the occurrence.
* C class difficulty level (must have a team of three, at least one of them must be an intermediate trainee)

MECHANICS
* MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 3A. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Players can continue rolling until any of the players roll a HALLOWEEN ENCOUNTER, in which case the BATTLE PHASE begins. See below for battle phase mechanics.
1- 20: You look around the scant neighbourhood, everything seems normal. You do notice how some of the fences, though they say "beware of dog", are lacking actual dogs in their yards.
21 - 40: You hit a rocky crossroad junction between two neighbourhoods and what seemed like an abandoned railway line. The crossroads center however, is bumpy and uneven, as if something was buried underneath it. If you decide to uncover it, you find odd enough, a silver tray with thick black ashes.
41 - 60: You notice that the signs, the neighbourhood stop signs and posts have all been painted and engraved with a strange symbol, a backwards arced spiral. They line up almost eerily against each other as far as you can see.
61 - 80: You see something from the corner of your eyes, a black fleeting shadow. As you turn around, you notice that this entire neighbourhood is lacking in any residents
81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER:
- You spot a large black dog, larger than any you've seen: in fact, it is nearly the size of a horse. Its form seems to waver in and out of existence, though upon spotting you, it solidifies, ready to attack.
- BOSS MECHANICS: This boss has 50 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back.

* 3 mission reward points for completing this successfully

Ariane was, admittedly, a little sick and tired of her own slacking; after all, she did join the Hunters to lead a life that was (supposed to be) more exciting than the life she had back home... And while things had certainly been exciting, the intermediate trainee from her personal development at a stand-still. Even Gale - who was a lot younger than her - was more active at this than she was!

Which was why she found herself seated in the cafeteria with a cup of hot chocolate, looking through the external missions available using her phone; she hadn't had much experiences with those, but it might be time to leave the island and get some experience.

One mission in particular caught her attention, seeing how the others involved being in a populated place but this one happened somewhere more 'deserted' and away from human activity - something about a case in Northern Ireland, where a huge... Black dog had been sighted.

Well, she had always wanted to visit Ireland anyway! (Not really.)

Now, to find two suckers willing hunters to go with her...

Deryk had taken a look at the new external missions that had been posted up, especially since Caelius had made them sound that much more important. Though, it wasn't something he could do alone, especially since it required at least an intermediate trainee leading. But, he looked at them regardless. Making his way to the cafeteria so he could get himself some coffee, he spotted Ariane in the area.

"Hey!" he greeted while making his way over with his drink, "How you been doing Ariane?"

It was good to know how others in his division were doing and all.

One such sucker happened to sit next to Ariane at the table just then holding his mug of coffee. Jude didn't ask if it was alright and he didn't ask how she was doing or even say hi, mostly because Deryk had greeted her first and so he just let them chatter for the time being as he sipped his coffee.

He glanced from Ariane to Deryk and then back again before he slowly leaned over to peek at Ariane's phone. Jude had certainly become a lot more comfortable with the female Hunter to be able to do so without worrying about awkwardness of contact.

Granted the comfort will probably go away as soon as she teased him about it.

Thankfully for Jude, Ariane was in a srs bzn mood at the moment; or rather, she was going to be nice to him so that he would be more inclined to join her in this mission.

Yes, what a sucker.

Before she could ask him, however, a familiar face showed up - her second sucker probably - and she grinned, giving the trainee a hearty clap on his back, "I'm still here, aren't I? Say... Are you free to do an external mission with me... And possibly Jude?" She turned to the male with his coffee, her grin never faltering.

"So, how about it?"

Oh, Jude was here too. Deryk grinned to him, though a little nervously. Was he feeling any better? The last time he ran into the guy, it was.... bizarre.

Tooley interjected.

Shaking his head at his inner voice, he waved to the other, then looked back to Ariane.

"Free? Yeah. Sure am! To where? Lots of places. Different options. Did you already decide?" he asked after sipping some more coffee.

Jude kept peering at her phone and then when Ariane spoke and included him in the conversation he raised an eyebrow sitting upright and within his own personal bubble after disrespecting Ariane's right blatantly. He peered into his coffee cup some more. Oh he could mess with her. Make her beg for it but on the other hand he didn't feel like being trapped up in his room and wrapped up in his thoughts and memories.

"Alright. I'm in," he said quietly and then moved to drink down the rest of his coffee.

He offered Deryk a small nod as he stood up, "Ready when you guys are."

Death hunters and their coffee. So mainstream.

Ariane finished up her remaining hot chocolate - uh, not-so-hot chocolate - in one gulp and pocketed her phone, sighing contentedly as she stood up from her seat, "Awesome. I'm always ready for a good time!" She chuckled, taking both their arms and effectively kidnapping Deryk away from his drink, "We're going giant black dog hunting in Northern Ireland."

'Men have pretty fine asses too, Kintama. I mean, look at this! And that!'
She leaned back a little to glance at her partners' behinds, although she probably looked like she was checking the table to make sure that they didn't leave anything behind.

Deryk was still eyeing Jude, not completely certain if he was acting any differently right now. He hadn't said much right now after all. He'd figure it out sooner or later.

"Black dog?"

The death trainee had a quick flashback to China. During the chaos Justin had stirred up, he recalled seeing something big and black staring at them. It also had red eyes. A part of him wondered if this had anything to do with that... despite being in Europe instead of Asia.

"Hey uh. This dog. Does it have red eyes? Any sightings reported in China? Farming region? With all the crops dying and whatnot? For that matter, any crops dying here? What's the spiel?" he blabbed out while being towed away.

Deryk might be pleased to know (or rather not know unless he is suddenly a mind reader) that Jude was currently his normal self - whatever that means.

"Yes, Fearless Leader, do fill us in on all the specifics," he said dryly as he let her claim one of his arms and then tug him along to wherever they needed to go with a bit of a sigh. He didn't seem to notice that Ariane was currently checking out his and Deryk's backsides.

If he did realize it he'd probably blush and feel awkward again.

He titled his head toward Deryk, "Ah, sounds like you have some experience then, maybe?" if it was related it'd be an interesting thing to note.

"Black dog," She repeated, just for confirmation's sake as she led the two out the cafeteria and towards the lighthouse, looking all too cheerful, "The mission didn't explain that much, just that there had been a huge black dog sighted in the remote woods of a neighborhood in northern Ireland - which is where we're headed. Nothing about China or farmers. Oh, there's something about animals being reported missing or found mangled... I guess it must be the work of that 'black dog' we're supposed to find."

Clearly, Kintama was still grumpy at the lack of teammates with boobs.

Soon enough, they arrived at the lighthouse, and she quickly requested for a portal for 'Survey Mission 3A'. Once the portal was ready, she grinned, and not even stopping for a ready check, dragged the two Death hunters into the portal with her.

"Maybe? Awhile back, went on mission to China to check out what was going on. Locusts everywhere. Crops dead. No one else saw it but I spotted a big black creature watching in the distance. Didn't stick around for long. Couldn't investigate either. Too many angry farmers," he frowned. Shaking his head, Deryk glanced over at Ariane, thinking about it.

"Mangled? Sounds.. pleasant... Maybe related. Maybe not. We will have to see," he added before following her on through the portal. Good thing he had coffee before this. He wanted to be alert. This creature sounded dangerous.

He listened to both inputs from them just basically getting a feel for what was possibly in store for them - just maybe. Jude tilted his head to the side chuckling a bit, "So for Mister Double-Oh-Seven it might be finding more information on a prior mission? Interesting."

Jude was definitely more ... sane this time around. Most definitely.

The Death Hunter was pulled on through the portal with no protest what so ever - he was ready to roll and trusted Ariane to have done whatever preparation that was needed to complete the mission successfully since she was dragging them along on it.

Preparations? What preparations?

"Mr Bond might get something out of this, definitely," She laughed, letting go of her two partners before walking around, making sure to stay close; wouldn't want whatever they were looking for to ambush any one of them, after all!

"Hm, guys?" She frowned, standing on tiptoes to run a finger along a road sign, her fingers tracing the weird symbol that had been engraved on it, "You think that someone vandalized this? It looks painted over, and then there's this weird symbo-" Her eyes spotted another sign post up ahead, one that looked like it could had been a 'STOP' sign judging from its position along the road.

It was painted over and engraved on too.

Yes, Deryk determined that Jude was more sane this time. He hadn't started spewing about nonsense thus far. As far as the mission went, he definitely was interested to see if there were any connections between this and China. It could be a coincidence, but he just wasn't sure.

"Wow. Never been here before. Kinda pretty, Don't you think?" he mused while looking around. Well. As pretty as an abandoned crossroad could be he supposed. It was kind of creepy now that he got a better look. Focusing back onto the mission at hand, he stared at the sign Ariane spotted.

"Weird... Maybe it has something to do with all of this. Not sure.."

The trainee wandered a little further away to try and get a better look around, seeking other clues. Towards the center of the area, he noticed that ground was uneven. Tilting his head, he kicked aside some of the dirt to find a silver tray with black ashes.

"Uh.. found something here. Like a cig tray. Only... don't think it's the same..."
