After a large dose of reality and a huge serving of humble pie, a heartbroken boyfriend dumping her because she was the biggest b***h on the island, embarrassing herself in front of a large number of trainees and two leads she had only just met...Candace was due for some time off the island even if it was only a couple of hours. She wasn't running away she just...she needed a break. She needed to get away, even if these missions all required she bring a group with her. So Candace was sitting in one of the common areas of the dorms, lounging comfortably on a couch and scrolling through mission listings on her phone. All of them were interesting and..rather dark, but there was one that got her attention. It involved children.
There were some things you just don't <******** around with, okay? Children was at the top of that list. This mission required three people..damn. Who could she take? Harrison? She hadn't gone on an external mission with him yet, which was strange! She could do that! And take a Mist along oh yes, that sounded like a very good idea. Maybe one of the Lambs? They seemed perfectly capable of handling a trip to..
HOLY s**t DISNEY WORLD?! Candace sat up with a little gasp, staring at every child's most beloved three words. Walt Disney World. She could go to ********' Disney World on company dime?!
Best. Mission. Ever. Who knew riding space mountain could save children's lives? She tried not to look too excited as she scrolled through to search for Harrison's name in her contact list.

Rep had spent the morning building a house of cards in his dorm. No really. He'd brought a deck of cards with him to the island for whatever misguided idea they'd be useful, and then a breeze from someone opening their dorm door or just the heavens trolling him rendered his efforts in complete vain.
After a bout of colourful swearing and a game of 52 card pickup, he'd stormed out of his dorm and along the corridor to the common area, weilding his last curly wurly bar like some kind of last baton of hope as he sat down to munch on it, only noticing Candace nearby after a few bites, seeming engrossed with something on her phone. He frowned to himself. ******** this was going to be fun.
He repressed the urge to make some snide comment to try and annoy her, even though he thought he had a good one he could use. He rubbed his temples. How did you even begin an apology to a woman?

Candace had found Harrison's name by the time someone sat down in a nearby chair, looking up from her phone to see who had joined her in the common area. Her expression soured, her smile fading into a frown as she resisted the urge to roll her eyes and make any sounds of annoyance at seeing it was him.
"Hello, Willi--what is that?" Annoyance and mission forgotten. He had strange looking chocolate.

Rep was about to go on the defensive, expecting some sort of unpleasant comment for all the harassment he'd given her the other day, only to blink in surprise as she completely swerved to the topic of chocolate, eyeing the curly wurly in his hand as if he'd only just noticed it was there.
"Err, this? Its a curly wurly bar. Its like... toffee and stuff. My last one." he added his last comment as if mentioning the death of an old friend. "I take it from the fact you've never seen one there aren't any on the island?" Well ********. They didn't have any Aeros, now it looked like they didn't have curly wurlys either. If he ever got leave he was going to bring back so much chocolate, seriously.
"I'm running low on most of the stuff I brought with me, pretty s**t. And er. Hi."

A...what? Aw, damn. His last one? He probably wasn't willing to share? Candace got up to crawl to the other end of the couch for a better look, setting her phone down with an unwritten text waiting for Harrison. Eh, even if it wasn't his last one he probably wouldn't share with anyone anyway much less a woman, and if he did share it with her he'd probably demand she do or say something completely degrading. ******** that noise. "Hell if I know. If the island had them they were probably destroyed when Julie blew up the kitchen..I've never even heard of a Curly Wurly before. Guessing they're from..Scotland? You sound Scottish. I've never been there before so.." It looked really good.
Wait.
Did he just say hi to her?
Candace looked incredibly surprised as he managed to get her attention off the chocolate bar and on to him. Damn, son! Who knew civil conversation was even possibly with this guy? "Eh, you'll get paid eventually. Probably when they're more trusting you won't die just walking out the door. My group didn't get paid until December and we'd been awakened since May." At that she paused, looking even more surprised. Holy s**t...it'd been almost a whole year!? She'd...she'd survived a whole year! NICE!
Hmmm..Aria had said she needed to make nice with the other divisions. She pouted her lips a moment, humming thoughtfully and looking down at the phone she'd set aside. Perhaps..perhaps she could bring Harrison along on a different mission. "Hey. You bored?"

At the very least, Rep was used to interest in his chocolate bars. He'd already had to deal with arguing with Rin over a mint Aero, a bar he guarded much more fiercely than a curly wurly, so he barely even blinked as he took the bar from the wrapper, broke a piece off the unbitten end and held it out to her without a word, giving her a look that DARED her to comment about it.
"And yeah. I'm from Scotland." he stated with a shrug "So are these."
He smirked wryly "I'll probably be lucky if I get paid, all the ******** stuff I've broken so far." He didn't regret that much though, the fight in the showers had been fun, the table smashing also. He liked to break things, it was beyond satisfying. Was worth a docked wage.
He raised a brow though. "Eh. Yeah. Sort of. "
"Well eh, okay, a lot."

Candace hadn't been expecting him to share. In fact she as so sure he wouldn't that she wasn't even going to bother asking or demanding he let her try it, so it was for that very reason that she looked very surprised to see him break off a piece and hold it out to her. What? Seriously? "Wow uh..thanks." She gave it a cautious nibble before eating the entire piece, chewing on it with a thoughtful expression. Huh! It was pretty good! She smiled, a hand covering her mouth as she chewed. "Thanks! It's not bad!" Maybe she'd have to invest in a couple of these for herself. Curly Wurly? Strange name.
She waved a hand at his woes of being paid and sat back on the couch, picking up her phone and exiting out of the text she had been about to write. "You get four-fifty a month. It'll add up." Rep claimed to be a smart man, so Candace assumed he would know she meant four hundred not..four dollars and fifty cents. "And if you're bored, I'll take you on a mission. To Disney World." If Rep didn't get excited over Disney World there as no ******** hope for him.

Rep was about to make some sort of comment about how he doubted he'd be able to pay off an entire bathroom for a long time reguardless of his wages, but stopped as she mentioned Disney World, blinking. They could go on missions to /theme parks/?! Okay first it was dinners in Vegas, now it was getting to go to exciting locales. He could care less that it was Candace offering who possibly had some kind of grudge still, he couldn't be sure, the possibility of getting off the island and out to /do/ something that wasn't tedious card stacking had his vote.
"Hell yeah." he nodded "I'm bored out of my ******** box. A trip anywhere'd be nice, never mind Disney World." This couldn't be one of those mandatory missions the Cael guy had mentioned could it? Cause if their mandatory missions were like daytrips, he'd go on ANY of them.

Not as enthusiastic as she had been when she found out but he didn't scoff at the idea. That was a start! Candace clapped a little and stood, stretching her arms up over her head. "Cool. Go get ready then and meet me at the Lighthouse iiiiin..an hour." She still had to find a third person. But who? Someone who could stand Rep, for one. Someone Rep wouldn't get a rise out of and ******** up the mission, for two.
...Oh, she knew the perfect person.
Candace headed down the hall, stopping not at her own door but room 113 across the hall and a few doors down from her. She knocked, humming cheerfully as she waited. It may have been a Disney song.
Okay it was totally a Disney song. "Hey, Jordan? You busy?"

"Not really," Jordan answered as he opened the door. "Hi, Candace. Is something up?" He'd been checking over his mission kit; the bag and its contents were laid out on the bed, but it was nothing that couldn't wait if he was needed.

Oh good! Candace grinned as Jordan opened the door, glad to see he was still being friendly with her. Maybe he didn't know. But how could he not know? It was Jerry...maybe he really didn't know. Please don't let him know, they were just starting to get along and that was nice to have. "Because weeeeee..are going to Disney World~." She told him like a parent dropping the bomb on their kid. That's totally what this was, okay? "To save children who've been kidnapped. External mission 3B." Judging by what as behind him she felt it safe to assume he knew what she meant. She hung off the door with a little sigh.
"Annnnnd I invited William, too. I figure you're the only person who can keep him in check right now just in case. Do you want to come anyway?"

"All right. I'll gather my stuff up and meet you at the portal, then," Jordan said, not smiling. He might not be being rude or hostile, but his attitude towards her was notably cooler and shorter. He would have preferred the easy friendship that had been starting to form between them, but after what she'd done - it wasn't any of his ******** business, but he couldn't shake that off as though he didn't care what had happened.

Well now, that was a stiff answer. Candace blinked, watching him quietly as she backed away. He wasn't smiling...was it because of Rep? She was totally giving him the option to not join them! But..maybe he felt obligated. "O..kay...I gave Rep an hour. We'll see you then..." Candace said as she continued to step away toward her own room. He wasn't being as easy going and friendly as before...it was unnerving.
An hour later Candace was approaching the lighthouse portal, her supply pack slung over her shoulder and twirling an umbrella from her wrist. There was no guarantee of it being Florida and all but there was a chance of rain, apparently.

Rep if nothing else was able to show up on time when asked to, so an hour later he showed up, dressed in his usual garb, but actually wearing his jacket for a change. He always felt like some sort of evil scientist in the thing, but at the same time, was still inordinately proud of it and its Sun emblem. Wether it was appropriate for Disney World he didn't care. He was somewhat stoked though he'd never /admit/ it, he enjoyed visiting new places, it was always a thrill. He just knew if any ******** mascots tried to hug him he was going to punch some lights out.
"Sup." he said, inclining his head slightly in greeting to Candace, it was still strange to him having to fight his natural response to be hostile outright.

Jordan arrived shortly afterward, bag slung over his shoulder and still quiet. He nodded to Rep and Candace by way of greeting. "Hey," he said, then, "Mind if I take a look at the mission file?"
