Before was feeling miserable and grouchy and frustrated. The bathrooms were still a mess, the kitchen was nigh unusable, and the Mist lounge still needed fixing up. He had planned a nice little kitchen duty session with Tori, mostly so he could gather the necessary credit to attempt that biscotti she wanted him to try and it was best she was around to confirm flavors and recipes. Except that went down the drain, and the North Pole mission left him equally unsatisfied. Not to mention the recent mission with the Sun Division didn't help matters.
So Vanna suggested he vent out his frustrations in something more constructive. Such as bashing in some training dummies in the training fields. It will aid you in the future, I'm certain of it. Just trust me. Before wasn't entirely sure if he was up for swinging his weapon around but Vanna proved to be quite... convincing.

With that sun mission had left Tori frustrated that she was having a hard time using her weapon, well its was mostly the chain part that she was having the problem with. Aklin was happy that his hunter wanted to train more as he was glad that she was making more friends but they need to train.
he murred as he was excited as there was going to be more training and he wanted to hit things.
Hopefully in time I will understand on how to use your chain, beside it tripping me up. She replied to him as she shut her door to her room and started to head for the training grounds for more practice.
It didn't take her long to get to the training grounds and when there she spotted that Before was already there training himself. "Heya Before!" she said waving to him.

The Misty was mid-swing when he heard a familiar voice call him. He was torn. On the one hand, he always enjoyed being with Tori. On the other, he was feeling frustrated because their original plans fell through. And for once, it had not been his fault. Turning on his heel to face her, Before decided to opt for the former. Sure it wasn't baking-related but any time spent with her was a happy one.
"Heya, Story! You here to get some combat training?" 83 he asked chirpily.
Aren't you two familiar enough with each other that you could simply skip all this annoying small talk, silly Before? The annoyed curl of a metal lip became visible in the Misty's mind's eye.

Walking father into the training grounds as she smiled at Before. "I am and I can see that is what you are doing as well," Tori replied. Aklin had poked his hunter as he was excited that he wanted to spar her best friend.
Well that is a good idea but I don't know. She told Aklin, she did want to hit things but she didn't want to hurt her best friend just because she was frustrated.
Tori winced a little at how loud his voice was but she was going to listen to him as she knew he would just get louder. Alright.
"Since we are both here for the same reason, so lets spar each other," she he said and waited to here what her friend had to say.

Before blinked at the suggestion. Well, it definitely made sense, since a moving target was better than something that just stood there. But he was an Intermediate and she was still a basic trainee and while he normally didn't think twice about pulling punches (because normally they ******** caught him by surprise), he was reluctant to go all-out on Tori.
I believe an exercise in control is in order? the devil shield suggested.
"Ah, sure! Ladies first." He beamed, even bowing to her as if they were simply in cotillion.

Tori smiled as that had been the first time she had heard 'lady first' here on the island. "Why thank you, your such a gentleman, Before," she replied as she summoned Aklin to her hands. She didn't care if he was an intermediate trainee as she wasn't going to hold back and Aklin just murred in excitement. "Just to let you know I won't be holding back," she said as she tightned her grip on the sword handle.
Then she went to lunge at Before but she had forgotten to get a better grip on the chain and it tripped forward missing her mark.

Oh dear, Tori wasn't going to hold back? 8C B-but Before was... maybe it was best he doesn't say that out loud >.>a He was going to pretend he wasn't holding back either so while Tori was still unbalanced, he darted forward and swung Vanna at the Lifer's arms.

She had felt that blow connect on her arm and was so very glad to have a fear shield but it still hurt. After getting her balance back and shaking her arm to help the hurt stop. Gripping the chain better as she charge forward but total missed once again to land any type of blow.

Again, Before was torn. Should he pause to see if she was alright? He didn't want to hurt his friend... NO! You aren't doing her any favors, silly Before! YOU OWE IT TO HER TO TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY! Vanna suddenly roared so loudly in the back of his head that Before found himself striking her while she was down.
"S-sorry! Story, try to put distance between us!" he suggested as he yelled.

Ok that time Before hit a little harder than the last time, but it was all good she could handle this. Tori quickly put a little distance between them when her friend gave her some adivice.

It was instinct for Before to duck the incoming chain. "C'mon, Story! I know you can totes do better than that!" 8CCCCC was he taunting her or was he genuinely concerned that even with him holding back she wasn't doing as well as he hoped. "Here! Try to hit me right," using one of Vanna's spikes, he poked Tori on her arm, "There!"

Tori total knew she could do better but she was just so frustrated and she knew that her best friend wasn't taunting but his want to do better. But she was still frustrated that she didn't even process that he had hit her with her own inner rage with herself that she growled slightly and took a swipe with her sword and this time felt it connect.

Before felt the blade slice at him, but rather than retreating, the Misty just beamed at her. "See? Knew you could do it!" He gave her a thumb's up. The grin remained on his face when he suddenly slammed Vanna's broadside against the Lifer. "Next time though, twist from the hip."

The Lifer did smile a little at what her best friend said. But cringed a little when she got slammed by his weapon and to which she growed a little more but Aklin had been doing the same thing. "Like this," she said as she did just what he suggested while swipeing at him and connecting. It would seam the madder she got the better she had gotten.

The Misty let out a grunt. That had been a decent strike from Tori. Maybe he should have tried taunting her sooner? "Yeah! Just like that!" He grinned and took a wide swing at her, leaving him open.
