 Through the trees she wound, keeping her red rimmed eyes on the ground beneath her paws for straw twigs and rocks that might trip her. And anything else suspicious on the path. She didn't much feel like being strung up by her ankles today. With that in mind, maybe it would have been wiser for her to move through the tree branches.
The young Kitsu halted in her tracks, sending dirt flying with how quickly a stop it was. Glancing at the nearest tree, Hunoichi jumped at it, digging her tiny claws into the bark. To her dismay, she was no cat. No matter how tightly she held to the tree and tried to shimmy up, she only slide back down. By the time she had given up, she was laying on her back where she'd fallen, wood chippings scattered all about her.
Getting up and shaking herself off, the kit humphed at the tree. She could get to her aunt just fine without the stupid things. Just standing there. Not doing anything for nobody. Blocking the sun.
"Stay there and rot," Hunoichi told it one last time, sticking her tongue out at it, and scampering away to resume her search of her aunt.

Katsumi had left all the kits in Roys care today after all her niece's children hatched and grew into fine kits. Vynn would never forgive her if she didn't see them at least once despite being busy with her own. Katsumi knew Roy would take good care of them, he'd quite changed his tune since they hatched. Katsumi found it rather amusing.
Needless to say she wouldn't have to worry about them for a few days, Katsumi headed off into the forest where her sister lived. The forest was the same as ever, but the edge of which was still the best place to play pranks on unsuspecting kitsu. She snickered, she'd been so busy teaching her kits things she hadn't pulled a decent prank in ages.
Pranking was on the top of her to do list once her kits could come with her. she grinned quite happily at the thought.
Her tails swished back and forth as she walked, it seemed it would be rather uneventful as she continued through the woods.

Hunoichi was finding it difficult to keep at the same pace. A mouse here, a snake there. Everything was distracting the little kit on her journey through the woods by herself in search of her great-aunt she had heard good things about. She had been too eager to track down the prank loving aunt to sit nearer home and wait for her to visit. She knew Katsumi would visit. Among other relatives. When, she didn't know. But eventually she knew they would. It wasn't like everyone in the family hated each other.
The kit was now inside a bush, stalking some berries she had seen. Happily, she pawed them off the branch and scooped them up with her tongue, munching on them with a smile on her lips and her eyes closed in contentment. For a moment, she had forgotten what she was out here for. Until a shape emerged out at a distance.
Hunoichi had stretched up to knock another berry lose when she noticed the other Kitsu in the area. Squatting low, she waited, intend on keeping silent until it passed by. As it got closer, the clothing it wore became familiar. Without thinking, she leaned down, edging closer to the end of the bush, waiting. As the other got close, she pounced with a huge "Auntie!"

Katsumi continued through the woods quietly, the rustling leaves caused her to pause for a moment. Who was out there, she eyed the little bush. Can't trick a trickster.. she grinned, there was no one else around. Might as well, it had been a while. They might find out the hard way about Katsumi's magical abilities. Katsumi stepped forward only to be attacked by an AUNTIE and a pounce from her great niece.
the trickster grinned "Well done little ninja," she pat the girl on her head, "You need to work on your stealth a bit more though." she teased the little kit. Vynn had told her about this one, always getting into trouble. This ninja girl reminded her greatly of herself when she was little. Always playing pranks on the rest of the family. Heh.
"Out here all by yourself eh, You know your mom isn't going to like that." she pretend scolded. "What's your name little ninja?" she asked her great niece with a grin. She would have to teach this little girl a thing or two.

Hunoichi scrambled to her feet, sitting on her haunches while she used her front paws to fix the hoodie over her head. One of her ears had been starting to come out of the hole in the top and she fit it back in, tugging her bangs back inside. It was a process that only took a few minutes, as opposed to a certain sister's hours on the bangs alone. Even the ninja, who enjoyed being bathed, could only handle the scrubbing for so long before her need for adventure became too strong.
"I'm sorry...I got overexcited." Curling her tails around both her hind legs, the kit tilted her head, looking more like a cat at the moment with huge ears. "I can't sit still." And it also gave her some peace from her siblings. From Nure-onna in general and from Honoria when she decided to play the grownup. But she wasn't going to tell her aunt that. Not when she just met her, anyway. "She's aware of that fact."
"Hunoichi," the kit responded a little proudly. "I recognize you as a relative by the kimono. And because I asked mom who to look for."

Katsumi laughed "Don't worry about it, I got into all sorts of trouble when I was your age." that was true, parents couldn't ever stop worrying about what she was getting into, Her elder sister often had to watch her, Katsumi caught herself grinning about the tricks she pulled on Vyn.
"Such a fitting name little ninja" Katsumi gave the little kitsu a noogie "So you did ask my niece, at least she knows generally where you are." Katsumi wouldn't be surprised if one of Vyn's other children were keeping an eye out for her somewhere. It was nice to know she was still thought of every now and then. Vynn always thought about everyone, no matter who they were. Katsumi sighed, some of her kids had to be the same way, always forgiving.
Regardless, Hunoichi had Katsumi's attention "shall we head back to your home then?" she smiled "You can tell me about yourself." she said with a fondness for her great niece.
