Kayda walked briskly through the muddy, filthy, gruesome streets not enjoying the feeling of the unknown paste and liquids that were sticking to her leather boots that she bought the other day with the shop keepers own money. Her main focus right now was getting to Thaddius and be no later than she knew she would already be. Even though the polluted clouds, she knew it was later in the morning than she wanted it to be. The sooner she left this hell forsaken planet, the better. Nothing here was good to her, only the fools who left their money at such an easy access for her. She slipped past a few men who took notice of her and who she was, of course they remembered her from last week when she beat down their entire gang on her own in a firefight and fist fight fallowing it. It didn't take long for her silent steps to be filled in with the loud clicks of someone else, a lot of other people.

Dammit, she knew she was going to be very late on this one.

"Hey, where are you going so fast?" the leader yelled after her.

"Some where away from you, you son of a bantha!" she yelled over her shoulder pulling up one of her pistols and raised it behind her. The blue gun hummed then shot off three shots quickly before she holstered it once more. She didn't stop to look back and make sure that she hit or if she missed. She didn't have time. Kayda turned to the wall in front of her and leaped up it quickly and easily. She climbed over the roof and then dropped almost landing on Thaddius in a roll. She didn't stop, she just kept running as fast as she could.

"Thaddius, get in the ship, and I'm taking it off right away!" she yelled over her shoulder. She knew both of them had flight skills, but she was the best of the two, and they didn't have time to argue that. Kayda almost reached the door when a shot barely missed her head. She dove behind cover and pulled her pistols up and they started preparing for more shots. It wasn't something she liked about her pistols, but they had pretty good accuracy and power. She leaned over a few of the cargo crates to see the men who finally caught up and now the gang who they were stealing from. This wasn't going to be good. "Sorry!" she called out to Thaddius ducking down again from all the shots being blasted at them.

Kayda yelped when they started hailing shots at her again and her guns heated up to much. She let out a huff of air wishing they would cool faster. If it wasn't for her gloves, it probably would have burned her hands, but one two many incidences with that had taught her how to protect herself from them. She scowled hearing Thaddius ask her what she did. What didn't she do? Between the two, she probably got into the most trouble even though the girls from where she grew up were mostly shy. You were to shut up when taken and give thanks for what ever you were given. How she hated that. That didn't mean though that she need to steal and pick fights from everyone though to prove she could just as easily kick their asses as they thought they could hers.

She spun around the side of the crate and started shooting the group quickly after she saw her partner take a shot. She cringed herself feeling terrible for bringing this on him basically. When they got up in the air, she reminded herself, she was going to have to get him patched up. "Aye! I'll get her up as soon as I can!" she yelled back at him. As soon as he stood up to start laying down fire again, she ran. She gasped feeling something hot burn her side as it hit her armor and then a second in her forearm. The adrenaline that ran through her veins surpassed the burns enough for them to almost be nonexistent. She easily found the cockpit and got into it starting it up with the engines purring happily and heavy gusts of wind shaking the ground below her. Kayda let out a victorious war cry when she saw them shrink back from the wind, but victory was cut short seeing Thaddius laying on the ground, not moving.

She growled and narrowed her eyes flying the vessel low and towards the enemy. There wasn't much room to move, but it would provide the most cover for Kayda to rescue her childhood friend. She put the plane down again, opened the blast doors and ran out to pick him up. She grunted when putting him over her shoulder and growled. "You need to stop eating so much of those pastries," she grumbled carrying him aboard and to the sick bay after closing the doors. They now had a temporary shield that would have to do until she got him taken care off. Seeing them advance on them once more, she knew she didn't have much time. With a bit of a jerky motion, she lifted the vessel up, and started hovering up out of the atmosphere while also trying to make sure that Thaddius was in place and safe for now.

Unforgivably, time wasn't on her side, she had to get up, now. She took off into space and immediately felt cold again, a feeling she hadn't forgotten since the last time she was up here. Immediately without any real direction, she flicked on the hyper drive. She stumbled back at the force as it flew through the vacuum at blinding speeds. In the mean time, she made her way back to sick bay and was trying to put together a group of medical equipment to take care of her arm and her holey friend.

Kayda jogged down the short distance it took to get to the medic bay. By that time, he had already injected himself with something she was well aware was not pain killer. She smiled worriedly realizing fully that he didn't sound normal at all. She pulled her hood down as she looked at him and let her rich brown curls fall down to just past her shoulders. "Hey, take it easy. I'll get you fixed up, just don't move anymore," she winced after hearing how painful he still sounded even after now being drugged by something heavy.

She let him lay down, but she grabbed the empty needle and then scowled. "Really? I can't believe they are shipping stuff like this. Thaddius, this can kill someone twice your size and you took a full dose," she said with worry even more evident in her voice and actions. She put the drug down and started looking for an actual medical gel to help with his wounds. What he said next though made her stop and give him a funny look. "Wow, they really did you a number, didn't they?" she asked. She found the gel and walked back over to him also seeing the look on his face.

"As long as you don't start getting physical, I wont tell anyone that you drugged yourself with narcotics," she said walking to his back. She started trying to apply the gel the best she could and not hurt him to badly. Kael smiled at her far from professional job at taking care of his wounds before gently patting his bare shoulder. "I'll let you sleep while I try to find somewhere to land," she said with a smile while her inner mind was panicking and hoping that he wasn't weak to the drug.

Kayda watched him fall asleep before actually leaving with a smile on her face, but didn't make any comments. She walked back to the cockpit and turned off the hyper drive. She looked around the stars not seeing anything familiar making her feel much better. Finally, they were free from the hellish life they use to have. After a while, she finally found a planet to land on and it didn't look to bad. It was lush with green with a gentle glow of blue. It looked safe and nothing like what she was use to.

She dropped into the atmosphere feeling the ship shake a little bit, but not to badly. The next hard part was finding somewhere to land, but, there was more trees than she had ever seen before in her life where she had decided to drop out of the sky. Quite easily, she glided over the trees then had to skid to a rough stop. She clenched her teeth as the landing gears dug into the grassy ground. Birds flew everywhere and the grazing animals scattered in terror while dirt was unearthed from every depth. Finally, it leaned forward and then fell back hard on the ground finishing rattling her. She let out a loud sigh and rested her head on the control panel. "I need more practice at this," she groaned then winced hoping that Thaddius was okay.

Kayda ran back over to him to the medic bay and found him still unconcious, but on the floor. She crouched down with her scarf draping around her boots while she gently rubbed his shoulder and part of his chest. "Thaddius, are you okay? Sorry for the crash," she said hoping he would wake up, she would prefer not to go exploring alone, but she was eager enough that she probably would. "Wake up! I'm about to leave you in here and then you are never going to get anything from anyone," she said shaking him harder but still being careful of his back.

Kayda smiled apologetically to him as he spoke. She grabbed his forearm and gently pulled him before supporting him on her a bit to help with the fact that he was heavier than her. She sat him down on the table bracing his hand on his chest so he wouldn't fall forward again. What she did notice though was how much she was being appreciated by Thaddius' eyes at the moment. Kayda heard his comment and just patted his shoulder gently.

"It is fine, I'm not offended at all. I'm actually flattered, even if you are still drugged. Right now though, just think of this as a free shot time, I won't deck you for anything you do for twenty four hours," she told him. She stood before him crossing her arms under her tattooed breast just listening to him talk. "I don't know where we are, at least the name of the planet we are on," she told him honestly. In the computer there was coordinates to get back to the planet they originated from, but she didn't want to go back at all. She just became free from their prison, there was no hurry in her mind to get back.

"Um, it is a little beat up, but nothing I can't fix. Don't worry about it," she reassured him. "Are you going to stay on here though? I wanna go explore, but you look occupied with your mind and wounds. Don't even think about drugging yourself again though for pain killer," she said hoping he would listen to her. She looked at her friend though and allowed herself to enjoy him just as he kept doing to her. Sure they were just friends and saved each other so much, but in her mind Thaddius was one of the most in shape and best to stare at for some mental stimuli at times.

Kayda smiled yet again at him offering to cover her back, as always. "And no one I would rather have do that than you," she told him. Just out of worry he would fall, she braced herself to catch his weight to prepared herself to grab him if he did fall in some direction other than strait at her. Being hugged was not the response she expected at all. She hugged him back a little bit as well, but not nearly as much as he did since she was afraid to anger his wounds on his back. The kiss stunned her further. In her mind, it wasn't enough of one to react to. It seemed more like one she was given when she was really little with the other boys that liked to make up wild stories like on that she and Thaddius were on now.

As promised, Kayda didn't hit him or really react to the kiss, she just ignored it mostly. When she was let go, she went to grab the tracking beacon. Seeing Thaddius dressed once more, she frowned a bit, but then forced herself to have a neutral face. Never in her right mind would she let him know how much she still appreciated his looks. "Here, keep it safe," she smiled. Then she turned around to grab the blaster off the floor as it slid off the counter and handed it to him. "I get shot and I'll feed you to the first preditor I see," she warned.

She pulled her hood up again to cover her features and left his presence with a little more dance in her hips than usual, but that was just because she was very happy. Once in the loading bay, she opened the doors and then covered her nose suddenly from the strange scent. Clean air. Never before had she been around somewhere and never felt the smog on her shoulders or smelt the melting iron that always burned. The foliage was even stranger while the fact there was feral animals stranger. It seemed like another dimension they climbed through. There was rolling hills, snow capped mountains, blue skies with the only signs of grey in an aproching storm.

She lowered her sleeve from her face showing her stunned features that pulled into a smile. "Tell me I'm not dreaming, please," she said stepping onto the firm ground that didn't try to swallow her feet like their mucky streets use to or give much way like the store's wooden floors. Her amazement turned to terror though when she felt the breath of something on her. Her blood ran cold and she looked over into the blue eyes of a rather large feline species.

"T-Thaddius," she whimpered stepping back from the creature. Normally she wasn't easily scared but this wasn't something she had ever seen anything remotely like it. It's jaw tusks looks liked they could kill her with its strong, three meter body towering over her easily with her being only about five foot four or five. She swallowed hard as it flicked its tail and approached closer, but it didn't attack. Suddenly, it took off though after hearing quiet roars from another one of the same creature.

From her shaky legs, Kayda fell backwards on her butt and just sat there staring at where it left into the woods. "A-At least they don't have bl-blasters," she spoke quietly with stun completely evident on her face, she couldn't take it though when a bird came forth and landed on her shoulder. She yelled at the electric blue bird and stood up quickly then drew her blaster on it. It just hovered there. She reached out to touch it again with it landing calmly on her finger while she tremmored unsure what to do.

"What is this thing?" she asked after she calmed down a bit.

Kayda looked at him when he called it a 'bird'. "Bird," she smiled and stroked its soft, feathery head. It fluffed up content before it then took off to join another flock. She watched it fly off before running after Thaddius to catch up. She slipped past the branch to grab a hold on its limbs waiting for Thaddius to take the lead once more. She let it whip backwards then continued after him. "I don't know if there is anyone here. It doesn't seem like it though. I figured I would see a ship or something by now if there was," she shrugged.

Without saying anything, she jumped up to grab a lower limb of a tree and pulled herself up easily from practice of climbing buildings and evading criminals and other thieves like herself. She kept scaling the tree then reached the top seeing over miles of trees. Through it all though, she could see some remains of what once was probably a great building, before that though was smoke. She lept between the trees to try and get a closer look knocking leaves down to the floor before as she looked. Squinting her eyes didn't seem to bring the features out brighter, but the goggles certainly did that rested on her forehead. Flesh raiders. She knew what those were.

Just like that morning, she dropped the great height easily and then rolled to a stop before Thaddius just a foot from landing on him. "There are nasties up ahead. Flesh Raiders. If they are anything like they were back on our planet, I think it would be best to take a large arc around them to a building just past them. It looks like one of those temples we heard about in all of those stories though," Kayda updated him. She pulled a stick from her hair though and let it fall to the ground and pulled up his goggles to be hidden under her hood again.
