Anna walked through the door of the home she shared with her sister Kiwi. She had a bag with her, carrying a dainty, fragile piece of finished pottery. She'd taken time to mold the clay just so so that at the finest point in the decorative bowl, it was almost paper thin and allowed light to cast through the milky white rim. Setting it carefully down on the coffee table, she pulled the bowl out with gentle carefulness and set it down on the wooden table top.
"Kiwi?" She looked around, careful not to bump the bowl with her tail as she left it there to find her sister. This was her best project yet and she wanted to share it with her sister. That.. and she wanted to see the look of envy on her sister face if she didn't have anything just as good this day to share. She was competitive with her sister but it didn't mean she was a horrible gloat. Sure.. she'd happily do a victory giggle but it'd soon get swept under the rug so that she and her sister could remain friends all the same.

"Hmmm?" She answered absentmindedly from upstairs, a tiny detail brush in hand. Taking her time to finish the lighting on some leaves before sticking her brush behind an ear, she stood slowly as her joints protested. Stretching, she yawned and cracked her neck before straightening her clothes and checking the soles of her feet for wet paint before trekking down the stairs. Entering the kitchen with a wave at her sister, she opened the fridge to pull out a drink before exchanging greetings.
"Hey Anna, got something good today?"
She saluted with her water bottle, knowing full well that her sister wouldn't have called for her so eagerly if she didn't. Unfortunately she'd just pulled the dresser away from the wall to start work on a new part of the mural in her bedroom today; it would be at least a week before it was finished.

Grinning wide she nodded and opened the fridge up to peer inside. "It's on the coffee table." She chuckled and pulled out the milk and some strawberry syrup before getting a glass from the cupboard and mixing herself some strawberry milk. Finishing, she put away both milk and syrup and took her strawberry milk to the living room. "I think it's my best work yet.. I've been refining a new technique." She giggled excitedly and stood by the recliner, waiting for her to see the bowl. "The next piece I do I think I'll paint... I'm thinking I might want to look into sending these to a gallery... possibly see if anyone might be interested in them.. Oh hey!!! we could to like.. a sister's exhibition!"

((Hey Lysia, have you started pondering over their background or anything? In my head-canon I feel like their parents died somehow, and left them with the house and enough money that they don't have to really worry, hence why they're able to spend their time on art and the like. Though it's not enough to live extravagantly. Probably part of why they live together, and might be a driving point for them to start producing art they can sell x3 If you don't want to run with that, that's fine, it's just what my head has been filling the blanks with. If you have any ideas, let me know! <3 ))
Leaning against the counter while her sister rummaged in the fridge, she glanced towards the table to see what she was referring to. Pushing off the cabinets with a bare foot, she headed toward the finished bowl, walking around the table to look rather than risk picking it up. Backing up sometimes when the light caught it in such a way, Kiwi tilted her head. She'd never taken to clay herself, finding the medium didn't respond to her hands the way she wanted.
Whistling in appreciation of the piece as Anna joined her with a glass of pink milk, Kiwi plucked the brush from behind her ear and tapped the the rounded end against her chin in thought at her sister's words.
How would you paint it? I mean, like a glaze or what? And an exhibition takes quite a bit of work. Not saying that we can't or shouldn't, we would just have to start planning right now for one, and it would still take months of prep.

((that actually sounds like more or less what my plot bunnies had been dawdling over lol... pretty much fits well hahaha so let's do it! ^w^))
Anna pondered just when would be better to paint a crafted piece like this. "I think you paint it after firing but before glazing...." She nodded. "I'll have to check around to be extra sure... but I'm sure I'll find out one way or another. You are right though.. An exhibition would take a long time... but.. it would be worth all the work if some one takes notice." She came to stand next to her sister as she mulled this all over a bit. "And the money wouldn't be bad either.. not that we don't have enough.. but a little extra would be good to have and stash away for a rainy day."

((awesome! :3 Well, awesome we agree, not necessarily that their parents are dead ._.; But you knew what I meant xD ))
Kiwi started to chew on the end of her paintbrush, a bad habit that often led her to spitting out flakes of dried paint. Or worse, paint still wet. This brush was relatively new though, so she continued unperturbed.
"I don't know, but I'm sure there's resources on the matter."
She muttered, pulling out the brush once more to examine the damage she'd done before continuing.
"As for the exhibition, we'll also need a theme of some sort. And a venue...
Purposefully ignoring the comment about money, not wanting to dwell, she rocked back and forth on her feet, humming to herself as she went through ideas.

((lol too true))
Anna nodded as she drained the last of the pink milk from her glass. "I'll have to hit the library too then. I'm sure you're right though." She chuckled lightly and eyed her work some. "Hmmm.. A theme might be a good idea... as far as a venue.. I'm really not sure where to start for that to be honest... " Setting the glass down, she picked up the bowl and looked it over again. "Perhaps something about delicate beauty could be the theme?"

((... I keep forgetting to check this xD; orz I'm used to getting a notification whenever something needs my attention xD ))
"Maybe, though maybe beauty in the face of adversity would be more defining. Or... oh I don't know, beauty being fragile. That would fit more with what you thinking maybe."
She paced some more, humming to herself as she let her mind wander.
"We'll need fliers, something to grab attention. Maybe... maybe the best way to do that would be to have our pieces on display in public settings. You know, ask the coffee house to showcase something, the park, might as well ask the library while you're there. It would be a good way to generate attention at least."

Roserain lol it's ok ^W^ it happens i usually quote to say i've tagged but i forget >.< Nodding in agreement she grinned wide. "Actually.. I think your idea of beauty in the face of diversity would be a splendid idea. That way we're not just limited to the fine, dainty pieces." She watched her sister pace a while and decided to take a seat, picking up the phone book in the process. "I'll ask the library when I'm there tomorrow.. I don't see them having an issue showcasing some art if it's a donation.... but that would mean we'd be a few pieces down for an exhibit. We could also try making a few calls now... to coffee houses and such."

lysia_nyteblade I just get distracted so easily xD Oooh something shiny! *forgets what she was doing* Continuing to wear down the floor, she nodded absentmindedly as her mind was already somewhere else; her inspiration sparked and ideas tumbling about quicker than she could grasp them. In fact, a notebook would be really handy right about now. Putting a finger up to her sister, silently asking her to wait, she headed towards the stairs.
"Hang on to that thought, I'm gonna grab some paper."
Scurrying up the stairs, Kiwi sprang into her room, feeling rushed to find something to write on, before the spark of her muse died away. Tossing things around in a haphazard manner, she discarded piles of papers, only to come up with an old sketch book; the pages half-filled at random. It would do. Dashing back out, she forgot to watch her step and check for wet paint, only thinking of it belatedly as she re-entered the living room. Bah, she'd clean it up later. Taking the seat opposite her sister, she flipped open the sketch pad and breezed through until finding an empty page.
"Ok, ok. Library. Coffee shops. ...What else?"
Waiting for her sister to brainstorm, she flipped the page over and started writing out ideas and inspirations for possible pieces. Ivy overtaking an old farm gate, weeds growing in the cracks of cement, or maybe a small garden in an urban setting....

Roserain lol i do that too.. I'll be doing something with the hubs and see something that catches my eye and everything stalls... it's why he says that song "Shiny thing" suits me so well >.<] "We could even try businesses.. ask if they'd object to putting our art in their lobbies and halls? Doctors offices even..." She tapped her bottom lip in thought as she ran through the pages of the phone book. "Every ittle bit would help right?" She added as she stopped on a page. "I mean.. Wouldn't you think a law office like this would be glad to have art on loan? It'd save them from spending the cash of actual art to keep..."

lysia_nyteblade xD I had to look up the lyrics on that one x3 She wrote everything down, going back and re-writing in a more organized fashion once she realized no one would be able to read her notes.
"Depends on the person we ask, I suspect..."
Drumming the pencil against the table, she looked over at her sister's newest piece, tilting her head to get a different angle of it.
"You know... I don't even have a professional portfolio. I've never been handy with a camera, as you know. We might want to consider hiring a photographer."
((Might provide an opportunity to bring someone into the house |D ))

Roserain good idea lol have some one in mind? Anna Perked up at the idea. " Actually.. That's a splendid idea!" She giggled lightly. "Closest thing I have to a portfolio is those boxed of pottery in the attic." She mused lightly. "And I don't think Half of those things should really be in a portfolio to be honest." She took a moment to think back on some of her earlier pieces. My how far she'd come since then.
"Kiwi? You think we can pull this off?" She looked up from the page she'd been on in the phone book. It was going to be a long road and she wanted to make sure her sister wasn't having any second thoughts on it.
