Since arriving in Camphoreon, Emil has practically spent most of his time attached to Luke's hip. He constantly followed the boy wherever he went, for the sake of security and for having a friend around. But within the last few days, something had changed dramatically. Something was upsetting Luke and he barely spoke to Emil, even snapped at him. It also seemed like he was avoiding him, and the blonde boy couldn't help but wonder if he'd done something wrong. This thought was very upsetting to Emil, because he had no idea what it could be. But he had to have done -something- to warrant this sort of behavior.

Alone and confused, Emil sat in the hotel lobby that he'd been staying at with Luke. He'd found a chair in a corner and was sitting in it, his legs drawn up and arms wrapped around his knees. The boy looked as if he might cry while his green eyes stared blankly over his knees and towards the floor.

Why was this happening? What did he do wrong? Was he going to lose his only friend?

The more Guy thought about it, the more worried he became. He tried to keep the thoughts about it at bay, but he just got more agitated. Valentine's Day had not been more that two days previous, and he could not keep away the building uncertainty. He know what he had seen: Luke, Asch, and Natalia talking together, but about what? And now... Now Luke had disappeared, and Guy had no clue where he was or where he was supposed to look. He needed to know what exactly had been said; if his assumption was correct, Luke would have been told that he and Asch were twins, and Arceus knew how well that would go over.

In short, Guy was at a loss for what to do. He had spent most of his time since the Valentine's Day celebration either wondering about or half-looking for Luke, but he had yet to come to a conclusion. Even today, he had only left his hotel room that was his temporary abode in the early afternoon, having decided to sleep in and, when he awoke, go right back to sleep for a few more hours. He had dressed himself in regular casual clothes and merely ran a hand through his normally messy hair when he got up to face the day, and he yawned as he walked through the hotel lobby on his way to grab something to eat.

Before he had reached the doors, Guy caught sight of a rather unhappy-looking young man in his peripheries, and he paused mid-stride. He thought about it for a moment, then he shrugged and changed his course so that he walked over to the young blond. Putting his hands in the pockets of his jeans, Guy approached the kid and regarded him with a curious and slightly curious look. "Hey, are you all right?"

Emil continued his pity party up until someone he didn't know walked him to him. The boy turned wide green eyes up at the man who was clearly older than him. He asked a question, and Emil found himself sputtering.

"Y-yes?" he asked in a small, weak voice that trembled slightly. Clearly the boy was not all right, but was too scared to admit otherwise.

After a moment though, Emil started to wonder if he'd seen this person before. Hadn't he seen Luke talk to him before? Or something? He wasn't really sure, but the fellow blonde did have a kindly face and that helped to ease his timid mind a little bit. But Emil still didn't want to trouble this guy with all of his worries and problems.

Guy had never met this young man before in his life, but honestly, seeing him stutter and sputter and obviously be sad all by his lonesome make Guy really pity the kid. As he got a better look at the other blond, he did get a small inkling that he had at least seen him somewhere, but Guy could not imagine where. He assumed that they might have passed by each other if the kid was staying in the same hotel, but that must have been the furthest extent of their interaction before now.

It was painfully evident that this kid was not in the best of states, despite his feeble attempts to prove otherwise. Guy frowned slightly and his expression became somewhat more worried as he tried to talk to the kid again. "...Are you sure? Because you don't look very all right from where I'm standing. Is something wrong?"

Emil's eyes turned towards the floor. He really couldn't lie even if he wanted to, and obviously this man could see right through him. The boy ducked his head so that half his face was covered by his arms. "Um... well..." he murmured, a little muffled. "It's just... my friend. I think he's mad at me."

How was he supposed to explain this anyway? Emil had no idea why Luke was so upset, and he'd barely even seen him the past couple days. Ever since Valentine's Day, his friend had been like a totally different person. And the only thing he could come up with was to blame himself for it.

Guy frowned as the young man explained his predicament. "Oh. I, uh... I'm sorry to hear that." Well, now, that made this a bit more awkward of an interaction. He wasn't really intending to get involved with someone else's friendship problems, but he did not turn away immediately. As he thought about it more, this young man seemed to be in a similar type of problem that Guy himself was in.

He sighed and pulled a chair over to the corner, sitting himself down in it next to the young man. "Well... Would you want to talk to me about it? Like, what makes you think that he's mad?" Guy felt a little strange talking to a stranger about his friendship troubles, but he was in a similar quandary himself, and he knew that if he was despairing, he would want someone to talk with him about it.

Emil sighed a little at Guy's question. "Well... I hardly see him, and when I do, he doesn't talk much. He even yelled at me once." The blonde boy looked positively miserable, as if he'd just indeed lost his best friend or something, and was blaming himself for it. Even though he had no idea what the issue was.

He then blushed a little as he realized the awkwardness of this whole situation. He was talking to a complete stranger about his problems with his friend. "I-I'm sorry..." Emil stammered nervously.

Guy listened to this stranger's sad little tale in silence, thinking about what he was saying. It sounded to him like this kid was indeed in a bit of a quandary, but it also sounded like perhaps he didn't know his friend that well. The kid didn't seem like an unkind or unfriendly person, so there was little reason for the friend in question to be too uncomfortable to be loquacious, in theory. Guy wasn't quite sure what to say.

The young man's sudden nervous apology surprised Guy somewhat, and he raised an inquisitive eyebrow before chuckling and shrugging it off. "Hey, don't worry about it. I don't mind listening to your troubles. I've been having some friend problems myself, to be honest." Guy's thoughts instantly reverted back to worry-mode about the whereabouts of Luke, but he tried to focus on the nervous kid sitting beside him. Guy gave him a small friendly smile. "Just out of curiosity, what's your name? I'm Guy."

Emil smiled a little at this man's reassurance that it was okay. It was nice to have someone speak a kind word to him for the first time in several days. Although he did blink in surprise as Guy revealed that he too was having some friend problems at the moment.

"I'm Emil, sir." He said in a small shy voice. "It's n-nice to meet you." Guy was certainly an odd name but he didn't mind. He was liking this Guy the more he talked to him.

After the introduction, Emil looked straight ahead with his chin resting on his knees. He then started to muse aloud to himself. "Maybe Luke just needs some cheering up." Whatever his problem was, maybe he could just try and offer help or do something nice? ... That also might make him mad. What a dilemma!

Guy could not help but give a small laugh at the use of the title 'sir.' It was so odd to here someone calling someone like him 'sir.' It just reminded him of how he always called ladies by 'miss.' Sure, it was strange, but that was just habit. Hearing it used on him was foreign to his ears. "No need to call me 'sir,' Emil. Just Guy is fine. We don't have to be too formal, right?" He did appreciate the politeness of the young man either way. A little bit of courtesy was refreshing.

As Emil was muttering to himself, Guy was surprised to catch a very familiar name. Luke? Surely it couldn't be the same Luke that Guy was worried about? No, of course not. The odds of that being true were uncanny. Even so, it was an odd coincidence that both of their friend troubles involved someone named Luke... Guy looked over at Emil, curiosity in his eyes. "Luke is your friend's name? That's pretty funny... My friend's name is Luke as well."

"Oh... okay Guy. Sure. It's just a habit I guess... sorry." A sense of politeness had been practically beaten into him, so it was a hard thing for Emil to drop, but if it would make someone else happy.. then he could do it. He liked to make others happy, or at least be happy somehow. He didn't like it when people were sad, or especially angry. People could get really scary when they were angry.

His green eyes widened slightly and Emil blinked at the fact that both of their friends was named Luke. Huh! What a weird coincidence that was. "Oh... Really?" Maybe it was a common name.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 29, 2012 3:17 pm

Guy shrugged, smiling. "Don't worry about it. I, uh... I do the same thing sometimes." He rubbed the back of his neck at his admission, looking away from Emil for a moment. He was so unused to it himself, even despite his constant use of titles. It didn't matter terribly much, anyway, he mused. He didn't have much of a title to his name anymore, so it shouldn't bother him. It really shouldn't.

His attention flicked back to Emil as he spoke again, and he nodded in confirmation. "Yup. He's the one who's been having a bit of trouble lately. It's all kind of complicated, and I'm just not really sure what to say to him. That is, if I actually knew where he was." Guy rolled his eyes and rested his chin in the palm of his hand. "He's just run off somewhere, and I've been trying to find him. I don't really know what I'm going to say once I do find him, but... With any luck, I'll figure it out soon." Sighing, Guy set his blue gaze on his new acquaintance. "I certainly hope you haven't been having as rough of a time with your Luke."

Emil listened quietly and was rather amazed at how Guy's situation seemed so very similar to his own. "Actually..." he said softly as the other blonde finished.

"I was kinda thinking the same thing. I don't know where he went or what I'll say. He acts like he's mad at me anyway." His words trailing off into disheartened muttering.

Maybe that's why he couldn't find Luke. Maybe he had done so utterly terrible that his friend never wanted to speak to him again. This thought frightened and distressed Emil quite a bit. Luke was his first and only friend. He didn't want that to happen.

"I hope you do figure it out with your Luke. I don't know if I will."
PostPosted: Mon Apr 09, 2012 8:27 pm

"...Huh." Guy made a small frown as he thought to himself. They situations both seemed remarkably similar. What were the odds that two people, both named Luke, would be angry and running amok in the exact same city for a reason that neither party was aware of? ...About the same probability that one of those Lukes might have a runaway twin, Guy thought bitterly. He idly ran a hand through his hair and sighed.

"Yeah... Well, we'll both figure it out eventually, right?" He tried to sound consoling to this obviously distressed young lad, but Guy was too deep in thought to really pay much heed to that. He closed his eyes for a short while, then he reopened them and cast a sideways glance at his acquaintance.

"Say, Emil," he started, "just out of curiosity, what does your Luke look like? I... might have seen him around somewhere in the city." It was kind of a pathetic attempt at gathering information, Guy had to admit, but it was better than nothing. At the very least, if he and Emil were talking about the same Luke, he would have a rough idea of where to continue his search.

Emil didn't say anything at first and just nodded to Guy's words of consolation. He did appreciate the man's attempts to make him feel better though. Being the shy and quiet kid he was, he just didn't often say very much. However, Guy's question drew a blink. The fact that it was a bit odd that both of them were having problems with a friend named Luke kinda went over his head. He instantly bought Guy's attempt at information gathering, pathetic or not.

"Um well..." Emil started, recalling the mental image of what his friend looked like. "He has red hair, is a little short, and wears a white coat?"
