He had a friend. It was strange to think like that, having a friend wasn't something he was really looking for, having a female friend well he was looking for that even less, he had sisters and he classed them as friends, but he has to be friends with them, they were his sisters. He had found himself a friend though and it was odd to him, he hadn't had a friend since he had been a cub, being a rogue he had never been in one place for long enough to culture a friendship.

Of course hw as sort of hoping his new friend would be more. She was clever, she was witty and she was sharp of tongue. He definitely liked her. Now he was looking for her again. They had walked for a good time after their first meeting, they had, had a long amusing conversation and she had gone home and he had gone to his job.

He had some time off so he just had to find her again. The pride was big but he was fairly sure he knew where her den was, he just hoped she was there and not out water seeking.

The big male approached without a moments hesitation and rather than stopping he steps over her casting his shadow right across her body, his legs straddled either side of her small body and his mane brushing against ehr forehead.. It wasn't an aggressive thing or even a domination thing, he just realised she was hot. "Hey shorty you seem kinda scorched, need a tree for a bit?" He looks down at her and smiles his roguish smile, feeling a little bit silly, but also rather chivalrous.

"I came to see if you felt like a walk small fry, but you look like you could do with a rest." He looks away in to the distance, looking deeply thoughtful. "I have something for you but it can wait if you're too tired." He smiles looking down at the lioness between his legs and shaded by his shadow.

The big male gave a chuffed chuckle at her words, she seemed so comfortable in the shade he was creating just with his massive bulk that he almost regretted asking her to come for a walk. Though he did want to give her the gift he had created.

"It's near a cool place." He smiles touching her shoulder and nudging her gently around so she was facing the correct direction before he started walking keeping her on his shady side so that his shadow was cast over the bulk of her body. Truthfully it wasn't until that moment that he had decided to give her the present, certainly he had thought about it but seeing her so tired and hot he decided she needed it.

"I don't know if you will like it or not half pint but I saw it and thought of you." He grins suspiciously his tail flickering back and forth and a very cheerful grin on his maw. He was glad now, glad she was coming with him for a little walk.

The big dark male looked down at her and pointed his nose towards a particularly rough looking bit of rocky sand. It cast a half decent shadow and probably would usually have lots of lions crouched around it but with recent movings about it was a fairly quiet place and it was where he had buried his present for her, away from prying eyes.

He gives a throaty chuckle "I'v only managed to build a couple of sand dunes so far but I'm getting there." He smirks playfully nudging her gently with his thick shoulder. "And you short stack? Except for running yourself ragged hows the desert treating you?" He raises a curious brow at the smokey red female, his deep dark blue eyes fixed on her instead of on the near distance. He wanted to ask her more serious questions like, do you have a mate, or even something simple like, whats your favourite colour, though that of course was a completely stupid and irrelevant question to ask anyone.

"I see you haven't managed to stretch yourself at all, are you getting shorter or am I getting bigger?" He slips a silly toothy grin at her, he really couldn't help but say something silly to her it made him feel all pleased inside, happy to be beside her, happy that he knew she could take the ribbing and give it back.

Xagan shakes his head "Despite my best efforts continuing work on highways as been suspended due to high wings." He puts on a very serious face though this lasts for so few seconds it was only a glimpse of how serious he could look. He laughs lightly and licks the top of her head. "You should be careful out there. Who would I tease if you didn't come back?" He raises a brow a look in his deep blue gaze that said he was very serious about wanting to make sure she was safe.

Turning his gaze back to the ground before him he pads on to the harder ground, pinching his toes and nodding he starts to count his paw steps eventually stopping at a particular point which looked more or less like every other part of the ground around where they stood, though now they were at least in the shade. "Sit and close your eyes and I shall produce you a surprise." He waits patiently, both eyebrows up expectantly, clearly trying to keep a straight face which was proving to be a very difficult task.

"I solemnly swear I won't pounce you. Maybe" He snickers, making sure her eyes were closed before he set about his task.

The dark maned male smiled and moving back a few steps he starts to dig, his big shovel like paws moving the hardened sand. He had only buried the thing here a few days ago so he knew it would still be there. Still he was excited to get it out and show it to her.

Reaching in to the hole he had dug he pulls out a rounded chunk of glass, it was rather deformed and had clearly been formed from sand, it was rough but see through and resembled a wide necked bottle, hollow on the inside. On top of the bottle he had stretched a piece of hide, possibly from a rabbit, but who knew really and had finished it with a strand of string. which formed a hoop so that it could be carried around the neck.

Sitting on his haunches he he balances himself and holds out the jar like gift. "Okay short stack you can open your eyes now."

The big male probably would have blushed, if his face wasn't so dark, a it was he looked almost flustered by her flattery "Well, I thought you could carry some water in it." He smiles a light smile allowing his paws to touch the ground, he looks at her his deep blue eyes full of a smile.

"It might keep you safe when you're out on your own." He shuffles his paws, he wasn't sure what to say or how to come back from that simple lick on his cheek. After a moment he leans forwards and touches her nose with his own "You will be careful out there won't you? You know if you get buried out there I'll have to come and find you short stack and that will just be very inconvenient." He smiles a soft, serious smile and raises one of his dish-plate like paws to touch her cheek. "I'm glad you like it, I made it for you."

The big dark male smiles down at her, laying his large head on top of hers he drapes a paw around her shoulders. "Well, I think you should stay by me when you're here any way.." He clears his throat "That way I can make sure you wont get buried shorty." He chuckles quietly, a little hope raising in his chest as he said this. He was trying to make the invitation light hearted but his heart skipped a beat. He had definitely just asked her to stay with him, in a round about sort of way.

"That is, if you want to be around me more often." He clears his throat roughly, keeping her close against his chest. Holding her gently, carefully, his little shorty, if she would agree to be his.
