This RP is between Zahavah (Divena & DivenasMom) and Inoshishi (Bardess Ookami)  Zahavah bounced her way through the forest, feeling a bit bored. It was time to find a new friend and mix things up. Or a new enemy to mix things up...

Inoshishioni was laying against a tree in the woods, his feet curled close to his belly. His eyes were closed as he hummed a tuneless nothing to himself. What today would bring, he knew not. What tomorrow would bring was even less uncertain. What yesterday brought was still worth considering. That was the problem with time, he mused. When you wished to slow it down and reflect, it kept on moving at the same pace. And for all it was a consistent pace, all that meant was that it was consistently annoying. Too fast for in depth analysis, and too slow when things were boring. One always had to adjust themselves to time, but time never had the common curtsey to meet one half way. He yawned, breaking the humming tune, and realized that sleep too... sleep was annoying. You needed to sleep when you didn't want to, and often when he wished to sleep he found he could not. He wondered why it was that the world sought to be so difficult and perverse.

The orange little niximp jumped over a branch with a crash and grinned, considering going back and taking the jump again, to see if she could do a flip when she jumped. That could be interesting...

The crashing sound startled him awake. His eyes opened, and he tilted his head, ears perked, listening. Hearing someone moving about, he stood and stretched. They would come his way... or they wouldn't. If they came this way, he wished to be prepared to speak with him or her, but if they went elsewhere, so be it. He was hungry anyway, if who ever it was passed along without interaction then he would go eat. At least food was plentiful. He wondered if he could learn to tell who was coming by the sound they made. It would be interesting, but he was not quite sure how to go about it. He rolled his neck and stretched his back, then stood ready for whomever was coming. Or not coming, as the case might be.

Deciding that she was going to try the flip, she trotted around the branch, eyeing it and trying to find the most challenging point to do so. It was when she rounded the tree that she nearly walked into another mini that looked... nothing like her. "Er..."

He studied the other who stepped before him. A mini. Did all minis make so much noise when they moved? Did he? Were he to seriously attempt to track others by the sound of their movement, he needed to learn that. Was environment a factor as well? Possibly. If the leaves were especially dry, then there would be more of a crunching sound. He added this to the list of things he would ponder tomorrow in his thoughts about yesterday. Of course, should today oblige him by extending, he might even catch up and be able to think of today while it was in fact today. That would be a rare treat indeed.
However, now he needed to reply, for the other had spoken. ER, he or she had said. He was fairly certain that the other was female, but he had learned not to jump to conclusions hastily. Now, on to Er. Was Er a greeting in some dialect with which he was not familiar? If so, how to proceed? Should he reply in the only spoken tongue which he knew, or should he, perhaps, attempt non-verbal communication? Yes. That did seem to be the best answer, after all, better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak and remove all doubt.
Having considered for a short while in silence, he finally nodded once to the other, in what he hoped was a respectful, perhaps even sage manner.

She blinked as he nodded wisely at her, after an awfully long silence. "Ooookay," she muttered. "Who are you?"

Aha! Common, he or she spoke common. Perfect. He thought the voice rather sounded female, so until he was told otherwise, he would refer to this stranger other with feminine pronouns, at least mentally. So her Er, must have been a sign of uncertainty. Well, that would make sense. "I am known as Inoshishioni, to those who know me," he replied, answering her question, before posing one of his own. "And with whom do I have the honor of conversing?"

Oh so that was what she had meant. That was a rather rude question, though, was it not. Actually, perhaps he was mistaken. Were she asking for a basic and literal answer as to what he was, then yes, it was quite rude indeed. However, wee the question to be veiwed from a more philosphical angle... Well then, it could be quite interesting indeed. What was he? Wel, he was alive. He was flesh and ones and blood.nwas there more. What made him different from other soqs? They all, presumably, had blood, four hooves at the end of the same number of legs, approximatly two eyes and one mouth and a pair of ears, a tail. So what made him different? It was a facinating question. What made him, him? Some called it soul, some spirit, some personality. But at the heart of it, what was it that made him unique? What made him think differently from others? Just what was he. He linked, and tilted his head, to address the one who had posed such a fascinating quandry. "That is an excellent question," he informed her, still pensive.

"Could you answer such a complex questin so easily?" Inoshishioni asked. He presumed she would admu that they could not, and then they would have the pleasure of a fascinating philosophical discorse. He had not had the opertunity for some time, so this would be quite pleasant.
