User Image The wind swayed a white mane into the depths of the air as a gasping smile took place upon a beautiful mare. Her pure white coat glittered in the suns light as she walked along the plains of her most favorite place. Golden eyes looked from left to right, any direction where beautiful birds sang loud as day! If anyone was to talk today, they would not know it was a winters day. She smiled wide, Genevieve's steps almost became dancing as she glided across the grass. How she enjoyed her days frolicking in the tall grass heading off to her most favored place, her little secret lake.

It most likely was not any where secret, but in her mind this was her own heaven. This was the last place she was to see her 'brother' Helios, God of the Sun, who blessed her with good luck and fortune. Ever since that day, colors had been brighter and an open mind was all the mare had. Not a care in the world followed her, not a slight heart ache filled her, life was as beautiful as she believed it was intended to be. A smile danced across her face as she entered the forest, though its depths were dark, she knew it was a lovely place.

A small bunny ran in front of her, it looked up to her in fright. Her golden eyes glittered with happiness, "Oh hello darling. Do not be afraid, run off now and find whatever it is you are looking for!" Her voice was rather motherly, soft, and kind. She was once compared to a fairy tale princess by Piccolo, another herd mate of hers, but she believed she was much like everyone else. Her long braided tale followed behind her until she finally reached it...

Her own little heaven, her secret lake.

Eri had finally left his mother’s side for a time. He did not intend to leave his sibling and mother for too long, though he felt like he needed some time to himself. His hooves thumped softly on the ground, the air was sweet and his heart was light. He felt bad for having startled a small little bunny a while ago while he had been walking. Still he had not harmed it, so he supposed all that ended well. He shook his head thinking on it the brown tips of his mane in front of him obscuring his vision for a moment. As he plodded along he saw something glistening to the side and stopped to look. Standing ready for trouble his emerald eyes searched out for the glittering. It was only the sunlight dancing across a small lake.

He mentally chuckled at himself for being so cautious on one of his outings alone. It wasn’t like he was foal that could get into too much trouble; and yet his sense of alertness was always with him in new areas. Movement captured his gaze from the surface of the water. He couldn’t tell exactly what it was, even after blinking a few times; only that it was about the size of an adult Azrein and was blindingly white. He had to look away and blink a few more times just to assure himself that his vision wasn’t playing tricks on him in the sunlight. Looking back he decided it was another Azrien. He wasn’t’ sure if it was male of female yet, but it really didn’t matter. If he had trespassed on some herd’s land he should go apologize. Sighing to himself he started toward the white being; of course he would have to travel around a quarter of the lake to get to his target which would at least give him some time to think of what to say, and how to blunder through an apology without offending anyone or seeming like a yearling.

Gene's eyes danced across the water as she took in her own appearance, her blinding white coat stuck out more than usual on this rather sunny day. She guessed it was because she had taken so much extra care of herself, making sure that even her bow was perfectly even and tight enough so it would not fall off nor lose itself on her long paths. Gene's bow was one of her favorite things, she adored it more than helping people, it was the only part of her past that she still had attached to herself. Those golden eyes took in her long mane, her gold and white feather, her braided tail, and with a smile she giggled, how goofy others must find her perfectly coordinated colors.

Suddenly a light thumping sound found itself in her ears as she looked up to see what seemed to be a multicolored stallion. The mare began to squint her eyes, trying to make out the many colors of what she was sure was a stallion. As the azerin got closer, her smile grew. A visitor! A giggle came from her as she met the stallion half way, then bowing, "Why Hello! I didn't know anyone else came out here." Gene was never a shy mare, she was always taught to greet those who came into contact with her, surely one day this would get her into trouble. She looked at the stallion, he had many colors on him, browns, greens, whites, and it made her smile. He was possibly one of the more colorful Azerin she had met.

Once more a giggle came out of Gene as she introduced herself, "I am Genevieve Sue! Who are yo
u?"

Noticing the other Azrien coming toward him at a cheerful canter Eri was tempted to look behind him to see what he now knew was a mare was heading toward. Surely she wouldn’t be so happy coming up to a complete stranger. Well if he was surrounded and didn’t know it, it wouldn’t really matter would it? He meant no harm and was here to apologize and leave. As the white mare came up to him giggling he felt taken back. She was pretty and she must like the color yellow judging from her accessories. He took a step back as she bowed it wasn’t something he was ever used to receiving. She was very lovely and had kind eyes which he felt captivated by when she raised her head. She must be having a good day, he mused as she introduced herself. It was an odd name to be sure. It’s not like I have the right to talk though. My name is rather simple by comparison.

Eri was still organizing his thoughts when he realized he really should introduce himself. “I ah.. I’m Eri. It’s nice to meet you Miss Genevieve Sue.” He bowed in turn to her. “I’m sorry if I interrupted anything or crossed into lands that I shouldn’t have. I seem to have gotten myself a bit lost.” Could one get lost if one really had no destination? “Well not lost per say.. I simply don’t know where I am.” Oh well that was smart. The first time he met a pretty mare and he came off sounding like a moron that had been kicked in the head a colt. Eri wished he had the ability to melt in to the ground.

Her smile widened as the stallion began to speak, how she loved to meet so many new people. Everyone came with such interesting stories and how she loved to hear them when it came to their pasts. The pure white mare flicked her tail, it moving slightly, though she had forgotten how heavy it truly was! Golden eyes flickered with the suns light, "I am sorry if I surprised you!" A giggle came through her pure body as her mane wisked behind her with by a large gust of wind coming through the forest. Gene was really nothing more than a happy mare, nothing was ever truly bothering her, not even her slightly sad past which she tried her best to make sound happier than it was truly was. When the stallion gave her his name, she smiled wide, "Eri, what a very handsome name!"

Her hooves lightly pattering on the ground with excitement, another giggle running through her throat, "These lands can get quite easy to get lost in, but I'm glad to see someone can share my happiness around this wonderful lake!" He sounded as if he was nervous, was she being too friendly around him and making him uncomfortable? She had this problem, or so she felt. The mare was always bursting up to new horses introducing herself, only once she had run into something mean and evil, but her happiness allowed her to escape with her life. Yet, she never learned and never cared to, making people happy was one of her most favorite things.

"Would you like help finding your way our? If not, I would love to show you around this place!" Once again, golden eyes filled with excitement, "This place is pretty tricky to find, I'm glad someone else stumbled upon it to
o!"

Eri felt his cheeks warm, he was embarrassed about being surprised, more so that it had been visible to such a cheery mare. “That’s alright. I don’t mind. Some surprises are good and keep life exciting.” It was all bluster but it was the only thing he could come up with to save his pride and make it so she didn’t have to apologize. He could only nod at her comment about his name. It seemed so short compared to hers. He was surprised she didn’t laugh. He liked his name but didn’t really think it too handsome or anything else really. “You own name sounds very elegant.” He was tempted to end his last statement with ‘miss’ and then her name, but he was quite so he could listen to her talk. The mare had a very cute happy giggle. He felt the tenseness seep out of his muscles so that he was a bit more at ease. The more he listened the more he realized his earlier judging of the situation couldn’t have been more wrong. If this place was so tricky and hard to find then there was no way others were around. He felt a small surge of protectiveness swell up. It wasn’t right that such a happy mare should be left all alone. What if something wicked came? She didn’t look like much of a fighter and of course if she ran that long thick tail of hers would only get caught and slow her down. Still since she loved this place, at least that was how it seemed, then she must know some ways to escape. Eri swallowed his protective nature so he could focus and answer her questions with a clear mind. “ Well I do not have a place to go in mind so I would be honored if you took the time to show me around.” He chuckled. “I think I am glad I wandered here, at least I think I will be.”

Genevieve smiled wide, but then felt her own white coat turn a light shade of pink as he called her name elegant. Though she met lots of Azerin, compliments were still something she was unable to grasp. Though blushing, she smiled and spoke in a coo, "You are right! Surprises are good and do keep our lives exciting, don't they?" Another giggle slipped, she hoped the stallion didn't find this annoying, but it was rather just her overly cheery self. Her golden eyes traced him as she smiled once more, "And thank you for your compliment."

Eri seemed to be a rather kind and heart warming stallion, from their short few sentences in this brief meeting. She smiled once more to him, a rather handsome stallion, she had not noticed this until really taking him in once more. His mane was what truthfully caught her eyes, she loved how his tips ended with green hue, it was a change from her plain white color. Eri was a mix of colors it made her smile wide as she took in his green eyes. Another coo came from her, "I am more than honored to show you!" Laughing quietly she stood beside him, tossing her head towards the left, "I think it would be best to start over here..." She then bit her lip, looking to the right, "Or maybe over here..." She then smiled wide, turning to Eri, "I know! The best place to start is by the flowers around the other side of the lake! Foll
ow me Eri!"

Against her bright white coat the blush stood out. Eri made no comment about the pink he could see though. That he felt would have been rude to someone who had only shown him joy and kindness. She was an interesting mare with a surprisingly soft voice. Eri found himself interested in her despite not really knowing her well. She seemed so slender and frail but that soft nature seemed so pure. Anything that pure could not be weak. He could only find himself nodding to her comment about surprises being such a good thing. “It’s never a problem to state the truth Miss Genevieve Sue.”

He could see her looking him over. He wondered what she was thinking as she looked at him with such attention. He had to admit to himself that the little things like her giggles and attractive taste in attire must be why he not only didn’t feel any sense of threat from her, but also why he found himself thinking how cute she was. Still he hardly knew her so he decided it would be best to keep his mouth firmly closed on the matter. He watched her turn her head before figuring out what way she wished to go. “Oh I would follow you anywhere.” He started off after her at a swift canter. His mane and tail streaming behind him.

Gene's long tail brushed against her back legs as she walked besides Eri, her bow making a quiet swish as she continued to walk. The stallion beside her was polite and how Genevieve enjoyed that. It had been a long time since she had met a stallion, or mare for that matter, who would say something with elegance and charm. It made her happy to know that others were still as polite as her own graceful brother. How she missed him, though he was off fighting and conquering in the name of the King, battling anything that would cause a threat to the King's domain. A smile filled her pure face, she began to wonder what Eri's back story was.

A coo came from her as the flowers began to peak above the tall grass, how she loved flowers! Gene glanced to the Eri, "I don't think I can contain myself with out asking, but what is your story Eri? I am not sure I've ever seen an azerin with as beautiful mixes of colors as you!" The pure mare had to admit, he was rather attractive to her eye. Her feather brushed against her ear as they walked, soon flowers began to ride beside her hooves. These were not yet the flowers she wanted to show him, so she did not stop, but she did giggle some, "The more beautiful flowers are just this way. I think you will love them
dear Eri!"

Moving in silence Eri took the time to drink in their surroundings. The lake was awe inspiring and beautiful. The grass and ground beneath his hooves were soft and the small noises the mare beside him made were pleasing to the ear. He found himself falling into a peaceful lull. Her sudden question made him look at her in mild surprise. She wanted to hear about him? Well it was only fair he thought. He was a stranger and possible threat to this peaceful area. He stopped at the first flowers yet at her urging continued on with her. “Ah I see. Well about me.” Eri took a moment to organize his past in a simple tell-able order. “My father Flightfoot is an evil azrein, while my Savina mother is a good azrein. I have three brothers. Two went with my father. While myself and my brother Karitoriki stayed with my mother. Every so often the two of them meet in neutral lands. I fear my life is not all the exciting. I have no great ambitions for evil like my father nor do I hope to change evil to good like my mother does with my father. ” He looked to the white mare. “Much of my life is simply traveling. I fear I must be rather boring to hear about. I don’t believe I have ever faced any neither great danger nor strife of any kind.” Eri did have a few strange encounters, but they were not too bad he thought. "What of yourself if you do not mind my inquiring? "

The white mare took in a deep breath, smelling the scents of the beautiful flowers surrounding the two azerin. She had forgotten the beauty of the flowers on the other side of the lake, Gene smiled wide as she listened to Eri speak about himself, his family was an interesting one and she was intent on listening to the stallion speak. A wandering mind made Gene think about her own family, she was blessed to have a family who was all as pure as herself, ones who could never think of being evil. Her heart ached for Eri, though it seemed to be something that he had grown used to. Another kind smile filled Gene's face, "Your life sounds like a wonderful journey! Some day I hope to hear all of your stories." She giggled, the stallions question made her think for a brief moment as she stopped in the middle of a bed of flowers.

A coo raised from Gene, "Here we are! Or first stop." The flowers mixed with many colors, reds, pinks, blues, whites, how beautiful the scenery was. "My life is rather boring I must say," she giggled, "My father is a knight and my mother is much like me. I have a brother who follows in my fathers footsteps, he's a wonderful fighter. Except his coat is dark as night and well mine..." Gene smiled with a laugh, "Some how we both ended up with pure coats. Other than that my life is truthfully spent in spending time helping others!"

Wonderful journey? That was a strange way to view his life. He thought he was lucky enough to have a mother who was kind and loving. A father who while having evil tendencies was protective of children and loved Eri’s mother. So he had to travel a bit was that the journey part? To him it was simply a way of life he had grown up with. Still the idea of spending more time with Miss Genevieve Sue even if it was only to tell her stories of his wanderings seemed like a fortuitous occasion. He wondered what kinds of stories he should tell her? He didn’t want to tell her anything that could upset her or give her nightmares. The only question was what kind of things would do that to her. Eri didn’t know enough about her to even start to judge what the mare was capable of enduring.

Hearing what kind of family she grew up with Eri decided he probably shouldn’t bring up his own father that much. “Well it is nice that your family has two members who can fight and defend, while you have others who can help heal and support. My own family is like that. Though I feel my poor mother is outnumbered. I hope that one day I might have a little sister, but of course with four older brothers I would pity the Azrein that tried to court her.” Eri bend down so that he could better inhale the scent of the many color flowers. His snout barely brushed the tops of the flowers making them move only so slighting so as not to damage them. “These flowers are lovely Miss Genevieve Sue.” Almost as lovely as the company.

The deep set golden eyes looked around as she felt more at home, how much she loved the calm tones of the wind and the scents that swirled inside of her as she glided through the flowers. It hadn't hit her yet, until this moment, but Eri had a wonderful voice, compared to her own. Gene felt as though her voice was loud, obnoxious, and somewhat fake sounding, or some one had once told her as a foal she was rather...annoying. Yet Eri's voice was calm and soothing to her and she rather enjoyed it. She smiled at the stallion once more, he seemed to be stuck in his own mind of thought that the small amount of silence was no problem. Gene enjoyed spending time with this stallion though, she believed his soul was kind and caring. A small laugh escaped her, "It was a rather boring childhood."

Eri's own childhood sounded as though it's twists and turns were fascinating, that they actually had an adventure. Her biggest adventure was swimming in the ocean for a few minutes before her older brother her scared her back onto the sand crying like a little filly. Genevieve laughed slightly, "I'm sure your mother adores you and your siblings. You all mean well I know of that." Her pure white mane shinned a bit with the sun beaming down on them, "I'm almost positive you have a beautiful mother as well." Giggling she nodded to his last comment about the flowers, "Wait until you see the cave I found!" She chuckled, though she hated the dark mustiness of the cave, it was always an exciting plac

“Boring childhood are ones that are usually survived.” Eri blinked slowly and didn’t push the subject though. He nodded and smiled. “Yes, my mother does love us all very much. She is a very kind and compassionate Azrein.” He dipped his head slightly. “I suppose she is beautiful. I know my father thinks her so. My brother Nasu looks very much like our mother and I have heard him described as pretty.” Eri found that personally funny, but would never of course tease his brother on it. Nasu had a more maleficent attitude than Eri. “I look more like my father, though not as much as Karitoriki.” He smiled at Genevieve. She was so gentle looking that he hoped she would be able to find others like her that were also kind in nature so that she wouldn’t be forced into a situation she was uncomfortable.

“I would like to see the cave if it isn’t a bother.” Standing with one of his hind hooves relaxed Eri shifted his weight. He was making a mental map of the area. So far he had to admit the area was incredibly beautiful. He thought he should perhaps come and go. It seemed it would be a bit to quite for him to stay all the time. He wasn’t sure how Genevieve Sue could stand the silence that was bound to be around at almost all hours. “Miss Genevieve Sue. Is it always so quite here?” Eri didn’t feel like beating around the bush on this particular subject. It wouldn’t be right for the mare to be alone, but it seemed criminal to have the land destroyed by a large number of bounding Azrien.
