User ImageIshara was feeling particularly giddy today. She had made two handsome new male friends that she was very excited about, and she was hoping to meet them soon. Trotting out to the forest area of pride's lands, she ducked beneath the foliage through the path that she had memorized. It was a nice day today, and the sun's rays shined down on her fur as she made her way through the thicket. Eventually, she rose out of the trees and bushes into the small valley.

They had planned to meet here a while ago, after she had first brought them here. Sighing a bit as she thought of each of them, she couldn't help but wonder if either of them were involved romantically with anyone. Then she quickly shook her head, even if they weren't, what would make them interested in her? Laying in the lush green grass, she waited in contemplation with a slight smile on her face.

"Kam.... Kam... KAM!" Musabari's voice cut Zikamil's early morning slumber as the golden lion badgered his brother. "Wake up, we're going to be late." He patted Kam's face urgently with a paw.

This was bad. Musabari was a punctual creature at the best of times, but when it was for something that he cared about, he became a monster of punctuality. And today was certainly something he cared about. And why wouldn't he, when they were going to go and meet Ishara again? She was so kind and had such a beautiful smile.

"Kam, wake up, come on, brother," he said again, frowning. How could Kam be so irresponsible? They had an agreement!

"I.. who, what?" The brown lion mumbled, cracking open his eyes to see Musabari peering anxiously down at him. Oh. Right. Of course, Musabari was up long before they even had to be there. And of course, Musabari was going to wake him up long before they had to be there. Of course.

"What's with all the touching, brother?" He muttered, slowly blinking the sleep from his eyes. Why Musabari couldn't just realize how blissful it was to sleep all day confounded him, but Kam had to admit that there was nothing to be done about that. He rose and ducked into into a lazy stretch.

"Alright, alright I'm up," he sighed. "Let's go."

Ishara yawned a bit as she basked in the heat of the sun. Today was such a nice day that she was glad that they had chosen it. Sometimes even the sun could be overbearing with the intensity of it's heat, and there were the occasional days when it rained during the season and the sun wasn't out at all. Still considering her new companions, she wondered when they would arrive. She knew that she had gotten there a bit early, but she was happy to see them again, and had been bored sitting in the dens.

Thinking about their potential love lives make her think of her own, or lack there of. Her sister had teased her, and her brother had suggested she go out and 'try out' someone, which sounded suspiciously like dating. She didn't even know if she'd be interested in a mate. Ishara was still a young lioness and she still wanted to have fun. Now, Musabari and Zikamil were both young lions as well, and they seemed like fun....Flustered now, she quickly shook the thought out of her head and sighed. She then leapt up as she heard noises coming from the bushes behind her.

"See, I told you Ishara would still be here," Kam announced, upon crawling out of the bushes to see the dark lioness sitting patiently in the sun.

"But... I never said-"

"Good morning, sunshine! You're looking especially pretty today," Kam interrupted, grinning that cheeky grin of his. It was certainly a fitting moniker for her this morning, with the sunlight streaming through her dark fur. That dark gray caught the light and seemed to glitter with it. "If we're late, it's all my fault. I was up half the night excited about coming here again. Isn't that right, Mu?"

At the sound of his name, Musabari started out of his little reverie with a slight blush, and nodded in agreement to whatever Kam had said before. "Oh, uhm, yes. He was... yea." He trailed off, pulling a nervous smile to compensate. In truth, he had been a little too busy marveling at the way the sun glinted off the water and the way it all seemed to match Ishara's beautiful fur to really notice the conversation that was taking place around him, but he wasn't about to let her know that. That was just embarrassing.

"Hi," he added, somewhat sheepishly. He'd planned on adding something after that, something about her looking kind of peaceful and beautiful out here with the water and all that, but he couldn't get the words to form, and resorted instead to wondering how Kam managed to slide those little compliments in like they didn't mean anything. Then again, Kam did that to everyone, so maybe it was different for him. Musabari wasn't sure.

She smiled as she saw them approaching. Laughing at Kam as she spoke she began to move toward them. "Good morning yourselves. You were almost late, but fortunately for you, I got here early and was enjoying the sun, so you get off this time," said teasingly as she reached them. The both looked even more handsome when they were near her like this, and she felt the giddy feeling begin to reemerge. "So, how have you two been since I last saw you?"

Glancing around the small oasis, she wondered what they could do while they were here. She hadn't really thought past this moment when they had planned to meet here. Now that Musabari and Kam were here, she quickly tried to think of something fun they could do together.

"Oh, but if you've been waiting, then we're still late," Kam declared, shaking his head as if disappointed by his own performance. "What's a gentleman if he has to make a lady wait? It's all my fault. I'll make it up to you. Promise."

"I hope you weren't waiting too long," Musabari put in helpfully. It was hard for him to get a word in edgewise once Kam started talking, but that was something that the golden lion had grown used to over the years, and sitting back and listening was his preferred method of participation in any case. Nothing said he couldn't have just as much fun, just because he didn't say as much as the others did.

"Next time, we'll just be early," Kam added, nodding his agreement to his brother's words. But in the meantime... "Any thoughts on what to do?" It never took him long to get back to the point of having fun.

Laughing, she asked,"Oh really? And what exactly will you promise to do to make it up to me, hm?" It was amusing the way that Kam carried himself, he was nothing like his quieter brother. Ishara always wondered what went on behind those dark red eyes. Kam was such an extrovert, that she barely heard anything from the other. Although, she knew that Musabari was very intriguing in his own way as she noticed the range of expressions that he typically held on his face. Smiling at him, she answered,"No, I haven't been waiting long at all."

When Kam asked about what they should do, she remembered a thought that she had been thinking when she had first arrived. Turning, she pointedly looked toward the large pond that laid beneath the canopy in the corner of the trees' enclosure. You wanna go swimming? Race ya!" she shouted before taking off toward the blue water. Upon her reaching the pond, she leapt up and dove in with a loud splash.

"Why, anything you want, m'lady," Kam replied without so much as a moment's hesitation, sweeping into an elaborate and exaggerated bow, and all the while with that cheeky grin upon his face. He hadn't paused to consider the massive door of possibilities he might have opened with a statement like that, but then again, he was who he was and worrying did not come as second nature to him.

"A swim?" Musabari echoed, looking for all the world as though he was considering hanging back. There was nobody else here, after all, and... well, there were all sorts of potential dangers when it came to swimming. He himself was not the most talented swimmer, and... what if somebody drowned? Or got into some worse kind of trouble? "Is that... is that the safest idea?"

"Relax, Mu!" Kam cut in, already taking off after Ishara and hurtling toward the water. "We'll be fine! What could happen with two strapping young lions like us around, eh?" Without waiting for his brother's reply, he took a running leap and plunged into the water.

"Well, I suppose..." Musabari said uncertainly, watching as the two leaped in. There didn't seem to be any obvious dangers. "Oh... alright." He followed, and waded in with much less ceremony.

Ishara laughed happily as she managed to get the two in the water with her. Jumping around playfully, she splashed water at the two of them gratuitously. She was behaving like a cub, she knew, but she was having fun hanging out with them and they made her act this way. Oh if her brother could see her now. Trying not to be obvious, she smiled at Musabari's hesitance. He really was cute. She would just have to work a little harder to bring him out of his shell. They were so different, the two of them, which made them for an interesting pair of brothers.

As the began to move across the sky, the water seemed cooler than it had been earlier. This was Ishara's sign to get out of the water before they all got cold. Managing to coax them out into the small meadow, she laid in the grass and let the sun dry her fur. As happy as she was, she knew that she would be needing to get to her actual responsibilities soon. One of the things that made the pride so great was how everyone worked together to make it thrive, and she was proud to be a part of that. Gazing at her two companions, she said in a low contented voice,"When will I see you again?"

"He just needs to learn to loosen up, this one," Kam said with a grin, nodding toward his brother as Musabari waded in uncertainly. It was a task easier said than done, he knew, and one that he had been working hard to complete since their childhood. Musabari had always been the quiet, studious one.

Some days, Kam wasn't even sure why he had chosen Mu as his obvious favorite. Not that he loved any of his other siblings any less, but he did spend considerably more time with Mu than any other. The others were his siblings, sure, but Mu was more like a friend. One that needed cracking.

"I'm plenty loosened enough, Kam," Musabari objected, paddling closer and trying hard not to make a complete fool out of himself in front of Ishara. It wasn't so easy, given his lack of swimming abilities. He could paddle and float, but being in the water had never put him at ease, and he was always more tense than he probably should be.

Which was why he was more than eager to clamber out of the water behind Ishara, shaking off his fur politely and sitting down gently in the sun. Behind him, Kam emerged from the pool, and with a courtesy "Heads up!", proceeded to drench his brother again with flinging water drops.

"KAM!" Musabari protested, but to no avail. His brother only pulled that cheeky grin of his and flopped down near Ishara, stretching lazily across the grass.

"Mu'll be alright," he reassured her. "He just likes to pretend indignity." He paused to look over, to make sure that Musabari was, indeed, alright, but his brother had already shaken himself off a second time and apparently shrugged off the little episode. Reliable old Mu.

"Oh, you can see us whenever you want," he promised, looking back at Ishara. "You just name the day."
