XXXMaxus sighed. Apparently no one was there yet. But... He could have sworn that someone showed him the entrance... It was then that Maxus remembered. His father! Maxus' father was a veteran of the Games, and a master story-teller on top of that. It suddenly occurred to Maxus that this was odd for a hermit... Maxus just shrugged it off though, looking around now for something that would allow him to cook the newly killed Vulcan without burning their entire Base down. Maxus was forced to travel outside once more, bringing in some rock to put in the entrance, not wanting to travel any further without the rest of the team. 'I didn't think I moved that fast... Have they even noticed I am gone?' Maxus thought. He was used to such a bitter cold that running, or at least jogging, for a mile or more was normal for Maxus, and he didn't even think to walk. Much as it wouldn't occur to the normal person to sprint if not in a hurry. Maxus sighed, forgetting that he knew so little of the people he found himself surrounded by... Maxus looked out at the pouring rain, the Vulcan roasting over a fire that seemed to be burning only air. It reality, Maxus' own power was fueling the fire. To most, it would appear that Maxus was attempting to warm his hands, however, this is how he was fueling the fire. It was easiest to control this way, although it wasn't required. Not for such a basic fire anyway.
XXXMaxus found himself starring out at the rain. He was looking in the direction of the Team One Gate. He had considered going back, but this was an eventual destination... Maxus had already gone hunting anyway, and had the fire going. This emitted a soft, almost welcome glow, from the tree Maxus was in, though it was hard to notice. Maxus assumed that with one Game down, the enemy already knew the location of Team One's Base... All the more reason for Maxus to stay... Maxus was so deep in thought, he almost failed to noticed that the Vulcan was about to burn. Maxus instantly snapped out of his thoughts when he realized this. "Crap!" Maxus let out as he quickly cut off his power from the flames, which went out almost immediately after. Maxus sighed again, setting to now roasted Vulcans-on-sticks in some crevices that Maxus found. It sure was dark already thanks to the overcast sky and the fact that he was in a hollowed out tree. Maxus then decided that he would be able to sustain the fire for a while longer without making himself too tired, and thus rekindled it, the rocks still warm, though now the heat was noticeably less intense. This meant that he could hold them for longer, yet they let out the same amount of light as before. Now all Maxus could do, was wait as he bit into a steaming Vulcan leg... so far, he wasn't poisoned... He must have removed the glands right. At this, Maxus smiled to himself. One small achievement down... Now all he had to do was beat Team Three... Not such a small achievement...
