Quite a few things had transpired since Yin had spared with a certain strix, and the strix in question had sent him a rather lovely gift. A gift that he would have refused if he had not had a real need for it. And while they had briefly met during the party for Scarentines the mantodae had not been able to really speak to Ulmuka. So he was making his way to the strix's room, live rat clutched in one hand though it squeaked its protest. One should not just go uninvited to someone's room without a gift...right? But he was not sure if the boil would eat a rat, so he had captured one alive, figuring that they could always let it go (and he could catch it and eat it later).
It was hard to tell how long he wandered the towers until he found the boil's room (or how many false paths he had taken due to gnomes), but eventually he was at his door and he rapped on it with his free hand, hoping the strix was home. He had some thanking to do.

There was a loud ruffling noise, a bone cracking sound, and then something that sounded like scrabbling around on a wooden floor. In fact the sound of wings was loud enough that it sounded like a whole flock of birds was behind the door. "Coming!" Came a screeched reply. His room was very high up in the monster dorm towers and the mantodae would have dealt with quite a few stairways on his journey upwards. After only a moment Ulmuka answered the door with a grin. "Yin! Welcome!" Muka waved his hand for the mantis boil to enter. The entry room was actually rather nice. There were thick curtains draped over the walls and ceiling, a large screen SkeeVee mounted on the wall across from a plush sofa, and many game systems piled underneath. The power buttons on the devices pulsed menacingly. Were they watching the boils? There was a shelf and desk off to the side and a part in the curtains to the back. That's where the sounds were coming from... the fluttering noises accompanied by the calls of any numerous amounts of birds. "I was not expecting a visitor. You are my first guest!" He scree-d happily.

There were noises coming through the door, unsettling noises. And the sound of wings. That made a bit of sense really, considering who he was visiting, but it sounded as if there were quite a few wings in there. Which made him just slightly nervous. What if the strix had visitors? He could very well be interrupting something. Screeching came through the door and then the boil was grinning at him and waving him in. "Greetings Ulmuka," he said as he entered the room, looking about curiously. Unlike his own room, which was "carpeted" with training mats, held only a bed, and had the walls decorated with whatever bits of mirror he could find so that he could study his form while going through his training and exercise, this room seemed nicely plush. And there were definitely sounds coming from the other room, but with the noises that were being made he had to assume that perhaps they were just pets or animal visitors, though for all he knew they could have been the strix's family. "Oh, I did not mean to intrude Ulmuka." He had not mean to be the first, and surely the boil would have wanted that honor to go to someone else. "I merely wished to stop by and give you my thanks for your gift. You should not have sent me something so nice, nor should I have accepted...but I rather needed something nice to wear as I was going to visit Alexander's family, and did not wish to be an embarrassment," he explained with a rush.

"No intrusion! Please sit down!" He motioned to the couch which looked almost brand new. In fact almost everything in this room looked brand new. The only thing that was touched was the wooden backing of the sofa which had small scratches and punctures. Did the strix perch on here? "Oh, no thank you necessary. I had shredded up your clothing during our spar and every boil should be well dressed!" It was clear that the strix had the means, by his room's appearance. It may have just been his father's money but he had a particular lifestyle that he liked to maintain. Unfortunately the concept escaped him when poorer friends of his were intimidated by his wealth. He thought nothing of spending money on opulent gifts for his friends. "Is Alexander your boilfriend?" He tilted his head curiously. The idea of dating and relationships was a strange one for the strix. He knew that teenagers did that sort of thing but he had not yet felt those stirrings on his own.

Well, if he was already imposing on the strix's hospitality he might as well be seated if that was what the other boil wished. He sat on the edge carefully, aware of how nice it the furniture seemed to be. "But I invited you to spar with me," the weremantis argued lightly. "Clothes getting shredded during a fight is natural, and it was not necessary that you replace it. Though I very much enjoy what you picked out for me, and it is very well made."Then the strix asked a question that Yin...really was not sure how to respond to. He knew the answer of course, but while telling Miss Danny or someone else was one thing, he barely knew the strix, as did Alexander, and he was not entirely sure how Alexander would like him to respond to such a question. So the first thing he did was rub at the back of his neck as he tried to think of how to respond. Finally, he decided that whatever else factored in he respected the strix for his fighting ability, and he did not wish to lie to him. "I suppose that is what you would call him. It is not exactly the same where I come from, but that is probably how he would consider it." He looked at the strix. "But this is not something that I really wish to announce to everyone." He did not really mind if people knew, but it really was not the business of most individuals. Though those stalking the pair might notice that they were around each other much more often now, perhaps a bit closer than before, and on very, very rare occasions might actually spot them holding hands. Now was time to...get the attention off of himself. "And what of you? Have you found yourself a ghoulfriend or boilfriend? Or both?"

"I can refer you to the boutique if you ever need anything else." Muka's head bobbled excitedly. It was clear he loved clothing. When Yin sat down Muka shuffled around the space as if he, himself, were unsure where to sit in his own dorm. He moved to a small untouched recliner and sat on the very edge of the seat, sitting up very straight. "I will not tell a soul." He giggled and nodded his head. "I am ah.. not so good with feelings and things?" He spoke it like a question. "My father hopes I will become a little more socially acceptable by coming to school. I think I am beginning to learn some things but love and romance elude me." Muka's head tilted. "I know about what to do... but the heartfelt motivations seem to elude me!" This was accompanied by more laughter. Some would find his admission to be shocking or an embarrassing secret but the strix didn't seem to possess those feelings either.

"Thank you," he mumbled, not having the heart to tell the boil that the likelihood of him being able to go to well...anywhere at this point and purchase clothing was slim to none. Unless perhaps there was a place with used clothing, which was something he had never considered before. Hand-me-downs were sometimes good options, and he could probably find something to wear at least for training. He was pleased with the strix's answer, and nodded understandingly at the strix. He understood. He really, really did. Love? Romance? They were practically foreign concepts to him, unless love was how one would describe the affection that he had for his darling rabo. "I am...not so sure that I understand them either." Did he like Alexander? Undoubtedly, but romance? He had agreed to work on it, but he was more than likely dropping the ball. To be bonded was not just some romantic fling, it was more of a partnership than anything, with romantic love a nice bonus for most. But this strix...he said that he knew what to do. Even if he did not feel love. "What does one to when in love? Or for romance?" He questioned, apparently unphased by the secret. "Are there steps to take? Is it possible to cultivate love?" Maybe it was like the game they had played at Alexander's house, where you had to go around collecting hearts. Maybe if he just said certain phrases or did certain actions it would all work out. iloveyouDIE This seems to be steering more toward relationship advice XD Which I'm totally cool with. But if you don't want that feel free to mix things up!

ramenli I am fine with it! Still seems like the blind leading the blind! LOL "Well.." Muka shifted forward, looking excited to discuss something he as well was interested in. "I know what to do with ghouls on dates and things. Always hold the door for her, pull out her chair, compliment her appearance." His head bobbled as he rattled off the standard pleasantries. "I am not sure if it is the same with boils. My father is an incubus and so he often is in the company of ladies." The strix was not sure if 'love' came into play when dealing with his father's exploits. "I am told," He didn't want to say who told him, Edel, for fear that he would be betraying some trust, "That you feel safe and warm and tingly inside.. when you feel that way about someone. And you'd like to be with them all the time if you could."

Oh, was that all? He always got the door, though perhaps if that was seen as something romantic he had...had he been leading on several others? Slightly mortified he vowed to never again open the door for another boil other than Alexander, and to be extremely careful around ghouls (though quite honestly he would probably be motivated by habit to continue opening doors). As for holding out his chair...well they really did not often eat some place where that was applicable, but perhaps when they shared a class together? And he could certainly make an effort to be more complimentary, though Alexander seemed to not mind about his appearance too much. Perhaps if he noticed his ties? "So that is all you need to do for romance? That seems possible." He mused, before pondering what love was supposed to feel like. "But what if he makes me feel cold? He is not a warm individual, and I do not think that he likes heat very much." On the other hand, he probably made Alexander feel warm. And tingly? What did that even mean? Safe? He normally felt safe around the other boil, but there was always the chance that something might happen...which certainly put a dampener on that. "What if you do not really feel [i[those things. That means that you do not like them in that way?" He frowned slightly, this was entirely not what he had been expected when he went to visit Ulmuka.

Muka tilted his head to the side. "Well a ghoul told me that.. Maybe that is what he is feeling for you? Do you enjoy to spend lots of time with him? Have you done the kissing?" Muka barely remembered he had lips half the time, so the passion of kissing was pretty much lost on him. "You see I enjoy physical contact. But I was told that is usually reserved for romance. I didn't know this!" The owl screeched his dismay, head bobbling.

"I do enjoy spending time with him," he mused aloud, though that had been one of his first things to consider. Then he froze, and looked at Ulmuka with a rather traumatized expression, unable to even answer as the strix continued talking. Finally he found his voice. "Of...of course not! What sort of...of..." Was his face red? Crimson was more apt. Or perhaps scarlet. Just because they were together would people assume that they were kissing as well? Like it was all just as simple as that? "I am not that sort of a boil," he finally managed to spit out, before leaning forward, covering his face with his hands.

Ulmuka put his hand to his mouth when Yin protested. He snickered but just nodded. His brother had told him that kissing was essential in courtship. Even when he'd been overcome up at the Scarentine's dance by the strange punch, kissing had come into play though only on hands and up arms. The strix was still very unsure about all of those goings on. "Well it seems you are fine for now. Simply enjoy his company yes? If you are very close and something comes up that is uncomfortable or unfamiliar... just ask! What could be the worst that happens?" Muka shifted in the chair, accomodating his wings another moment. "Would you like to try the video games? Like we talked about before?" Yin's blushing seemed to clue the strix in enough to direct conversation elsewhere.

Ask what? Quite frankly...Yin did not really want to think about it, which was why the question following that was so very welcome and he latched on to the idea eagerly. "Video games? I would love to try them." Anything but this please. He then realized something that perhaps the strix should know. "Oh, I did play one video game when I went to Alexander's house. And I tried a game called Ghost-Man at the Scarentine's event." Just to be fair and all. iloveyouDIE Ugh I was like 3/4 finished this this 2 hours ago and got called away for lunch for my Uncle's b-day XD

"I saw that game." Muka walked to the giant TV and looked at it for a moment as if he was remembering how to work it. He poked out with one talon and it made a musical tone as the screen turned on. It was on one of the standard channels, some sort of soap opera playing. 'Oh Elvira.' A male skeleton was talking in a deep baritone, 'My heart beats only for you. Unfortunately I left it at home. It was an accident!'Ulmuka was searching for a remote while the soap opera played on. An attractive undead woman looked very angry and spun on him. Her hair moved independently, like tentacles. 'Then why did I find it... IN MY MOTHER'S NIGHT TABLE!?' The hair revealed the shrivelled beating heart of the skeleton. Dramatic music played before the logo 'DEAD DAYS IN DEADWOOD' blazoned across the screen."Aha!" Ulmuka found the remote and pressed the button that said 'Game'. The skeevee flickered and switched over. The strix hit the HexBox with his toe. It turned on but seemed to growl at him. "I think this game is called Freak Fighters. You pick a human you want to play as and they battle eachother with human powers I think. I like the mailman. He's funny and throws letters like ninja stars." The strix giggled and handed Yin a controller.

What...what was the strix watching. Yin was horrified. They showed inimate moments like this on skelevision? Where anyone could watch it? Such a confession from the skeleton! And the fury of the ghoul...that skeleboil's life was over. And her mother was involved?! Oh how he pitied that skeleton. Yin's cheeks were burning by the time the gaming system came on and he had never been so grateful for a video game in his life. Oh, a battling game? That sounded much better than the communications game he had played at Alexander. Trying to gather hearts by talking to ghouls seemed just...odd for a game. Fighting definitely sounded much more fun. He had no idea what he was doing but when he accidentally nudged one toggle the screen changed. Ah, so this was how he chose his human! He began looking through them carefully. The librarian was showing her cleavage and he quickly skipped over to the policeman. Then there was a nurse. Next was...a fireman? A man made out of fire? He began slowly reading the information that popped up next to the image. Someone who fought fires? Alexander would love that, someone who was actively working to protect the Undead. He pressed buttons until it selected the character, changing the human's outfit over to a shirtless alternate on accident before he managed it. "So do you just...press buttons? Or is there more to it or?" At least he knew that he had to dodge letters.
