Recovery made Yayuka a cranky lion.

He usually wasn’t very irritable, which was good, because a newcomer in a pride should probably not be snapping at anyone. Today might be an exception, though. His paw still wasn’t fully healed, and it definitely didn’t even look very good. Not to mention, the lack of an ear made it more difficult to flick flies away.

The gray lion limped away from the medical wards, having decided he didn’t want to be there anymore, and was headed for the barracks. He’d probably have to return to the medical wards soon, as, even though he had grown sick of treatment, he’d be no use to the pride if his paw didn’t heal. He sort of just wanted a break from the other sick lions. The atmosphere was rather unpleasant in there, especially since Nur’yu had died.

As far as limping went, he had it pretty down, or so he thought. Yayuka was just reaching the top of a dune when, as fate would have it, he mis-stepped. It actually impressed him that he managed to put too much weight on his injured paw while walking on sand, but in the end it wasn’t an accomplishment to be proud of. On reflex, he pulled his paw back up, but didn’t manage to compensate his weight in time.

… and began the saddest stumble down the other side of the dune ever to be seen.

Aithne was normally cranky. Little things set her off and she normally would get mad for one reason or another. There were times where she didn't mind/care about much, but as soon as you did something that bothered her in the slightest it would not longer be unbothered Aithne. Normally the unbothered Aithne was rare to begin with. Today was one of those days and she was getting cranky at some one else near the den and Aithne got mad and started yelling that was until her father intervened and told her to go for a walk.

She was guessing that it was a pretty good thing to do. She was starting to wander around the pride and she was enjoying herself and starting to calm down. some times she was at happiest when she was just wandering by herself with nothing on her mind. The entire pride was very tense lately and itwasn't helping the normally cranky lion because now she was even more than normal. She paused for a moment in her walk as something caught her attention. Something that was above her. it was a sound that she wasn't exactly used to or really knew that well. She paused and looked up as she noticed a male tumbling down the hill. She kind of recognized him she knew that he was hurt recently from fighting.

She stood and stared as she watched the male hit the ground at the bottom of the dune and she made a a that was just pretty confused. "You know," she started her voice sarcastic and annoyed. "I didn't know that my sister let ones like you out of the den if they're just going to stumble down dunes." She said with a small smirk afterward. She knew that her sister was strict on who got to leave and who didn't and at this point she almost couldn't help but to laugh.

Normally he would have behaved awkwardly, and felt ashamed. But Yayuka had had enough of his injuries, and people telling him about his injuries, and how he shouldn't be trying to walk. For crying out loud! He was injured, but he was tired of sitting around, healing! He was in a bad mood.

Which was why he made a face as he pulled himself up, and scowled at the lioness. "You know," He parroted her, irritably. "I didn't know you needed to mock the injured to feel good." He huffed. Not a good comeback, honestly, and he might have done better if he were in a more normal state of mind, and not just all boggled up from rolling down a sand dune with a mangled paw.

But come on, she was mocking him.

Afterwards, he registered that this lioness had said 'my sister'. So she was Ea's sister? That meant she was... Kidondo and No's daughter. Perhaps he shouldn't be getting on her nerves. But Yayuka was unhappy right now, and since he was unhappy, he could also remember that the firekin no longer subscribed to a monarchy, so it wasn't like she was a princess, or anything.

Momentarily distracting himself from the lioness, he lifted his paw to examine it. At least it hadn't started bleeding again, but all the sand made it itchy.

Aithne looked at the male. She was indeed pretty annoyed at his statement but she knew it was coming. She liked to irk others and she knew that they liked to irk him back that was all too it. She knew it was all in the 'job' but she was really surprised by the males lack of come back. She smirked slopping down on her haunches and then flicking her tail around behind her. She knew of all of the fighting and in fact currently her nephew had passed away from the attack and she wasn't very happy about it. Everyone in the family knew that he wasn't that good of a fighter. She didn't understand how the other let it happen. He died at some one else's paws and he almost wanted to blame the others that were with him on top of that. If he was one of the ones with them, she was kind of angry toward him. All he got away with was a hurt paw.

She sneered and then it turned into a smirk and even a chuckle. "Well, maybe you just need to get your act together and learn how to walk again." She flicked her tail around once again before speaking. "You know I've never seen a firekin stumble down a dune." She laughed once again thinking as she did. There was one thing for sure and that was she was NOT a princess, and she understood it. She didn't act like a princess. Although there were times that she thought she was better than others and more of the time that was brought on by a combination of her age and her personality, and he need to grow up a little more. She wasn't exactly immature but she was young and her 'fires' were bright. She was sassy and feisty and she didn't take bullshit from anyone. And there was another thing for sure and that was that she liked to start fights and even though it would just make her even more angry she loved poking at others and getting into those fights.

He was rather oblivious as to her thoughts relating to her nephew. Not that Nur'yu's death hadn't marked Yayuka. He had been with the lion before the attack, and had fought beside him, and had been in the medical wards, and witnesses, if perhaps from afar, his death. That was hard for him to forget. He certainly wouldn't claim to be as upset as family, but... it was sad.

"I doubt it." He retorted irritably, though he wouldn't offer his proof. Yayuka's proof, of course, was cubs. Cubs were firekin, and they stumbled down the dunes quite frequently! Yet, he knew better than to defend himself using cubs. That would be stupid. "And I may not be able to walk right for now, but I will soon enough. You, however, will always be unpleasant!" Well, he supposed he couldn't see into the future (he kind of could, but not that way) and verify this claim. Maybe one day she wouldn't be unpleasant.

"Who are you, anyways?" He knew she was Ea's sister, and, by extension, Kidondo and No's daughter. Her name would be nice to know, even if they weren't getting along.

Aithne looked at the male and then laughed shaking her head. "If i'm unpleasant at least I can walk." She said simply it wasn't her best come back she had done better, much better but she was starting to lose interest in being mean to him. He didn't seem to phased by it and so she just ignored it and she decided that she should be civil to him. She flicked her tail around once again. "You probably should go back to my sister and make sure you didn't get sand in the wrong spots, she'd probably get mad if you did." She said a little more nicely. She knew her sister well, she got grumpy about things like that often.

She looked at him realizing that neither of them had really introduced themselves. "I'm Aithne." She said, her parents normally had a thing for short names. Other than an exception here or there but out of as many children as her parents had it didn't matter that meant that there was mostly short names in their family. "Who are you clumsy?" She asked smirking as she did, she was going to give one more try at irking him. He didn't seem like he was easily irked really

Oh, that was a little unexpected. He glanced down at his paw, awkwardly, when she brought it up. Yes, he had probably most certainly gotten sand in the wrong places. He was not looking forwards to getting scolded by Ea about it. Maybe he should try cleaning it himself... then ruining it and getting scolded more. Erk. "I will," He grumbled. He considered saying something snippy, because he was still rather irritated, but since she had spoken more nicely, it wouldn't be right for him not to do the same favor.

Yayuka nodded at her name, deciding to remember it. Aithne. Alright.

Actually, Yayuka was a little irked. Especially because she called him clumsy. "I am not clumsy." He protested, because clumsyness had killed his sister. His brother had just been bad luck, and karma. The gray male couldn't possibly be clumsy, or else he'd be dead, too. "My name is Yayuka. It's..." He wrinkled his nose, because that nicety wasn't warranted at this time. "Well, I met you, anyways."

Aithen couldn't help but to laugh some. "Are you sure you will or are you just saying you will, I will tell my sister and she'll hunt you down and kick your a**." She spoke with another alugh. She couldn't help it at all, she enjoyed getting others riled up she liked to do that often. She flicked her tail around and then shook her head. This male was pretty cute but she really didn't care she was going to give him a hard time, she gave everyone a hard time.

She paused for another moment and then flicked her hair out of her eyes and then she nodded. "Sure, sure, if you say you're not clumsy, but I've never seen a non-clumsy lion walk along the stands, injured or not." She paused once again and then turned toward the lioness and then laughed a little. "You know, once you're fixed I guess we're going to have to race and see if you're just as clumsy then, Yayuka." She spoke quickly as she looked at him once again getting ready to head the other way either going to find some where new to go or find something else to do.

"You will tell your sister, so she can kick my a**? How noble of you." He raised his injured paw to his chest, as if touched. "I hardly think getting beat up by Ea will help my recovery." He would probably just get yelled at. Or other forms of verbal abuse. Though he didn't doubt the firekin medic might sometimes want to beat something, he doubted she would target a patient.

Yayuka furrowed his brows, preparing some retort in his mind. He was no clumsy! He was just a little... lame right now. Anyone who looked at him shouldn't be expecting him to walk right, and--... "A race?" He quirked a brow. That hardly seemed fair. He didn't know if his paw would ever fully heal. Aithne, on the other hand, was a perfectly healthy firekin lioness. She could probably run pretty fast.

But even then, Yayuka would not turn down a challenge. "Alright! Once your sister clears me and my paw, I'll just have to find you." He briefly noted that, by her body language, this encounter seemed close to ending. The gray male found he didn't regret that too much. Even if he didn't really get the last word. Next time, he would be wittier, yes.

Aithne looked at the male and laughed a little shaking her head. "You'd be surprised, an a** kicking will keep you from considering doing something dumb again." She mentioned with a smirk. It was pretty true. She knew that some one would regret what they were doing if they had their a** kicked, she was pretty sure, or at least that is what she was feeling like would happen. She was pretty sure if anything there were times that Ea verbally abused some one, as a form of 'a** kicking' because she could see her sister doing that. Not only could she see her sister doing that however she could also see her sister getting some one into shape by yelling at them and getting mad and yelling at them.

A large smirk grew on Aithne's face, she was amused by the male's reaction. Aithne knew that she was in very good shape but in Aithne's mind, despite his condition at the moment Aithne had a feeling that he was going to be back in shape one day. She flicked her tail around and then nodded at him. "A race, I think it sounds pretty good."

She then laughed and nodded at him. "Well what can I say." She said simply with a smirk "It looks like you will have to find me." She looked back at herself, she was a bright red lioness she knew that she could be found easily. "Well you know if you really want to you'll find me." She laughed a little and then started to trot the other way, really to a point no longer interested. she was going to find out if he was going to come her way again. It would be interesting if he did, like she was thinking before he was pretty cute.

Fair enough point there. Seeing his brother get stepped on by a wildebeest had surely taught him to avoid wildebeest while he was small enough to get stepped on. And he knew to take better care of his paws now during a fight.

"Yes." He agreed. A race sounded good. Perhaps a duel sometime, too, if he were to feel that competitive. "I'm sure finding you won't be hard." He quietly made note of the markings on her fur. Aithne was one of Kidondo and No's, so she had a lot of family. He highly doubt he'd get her confused with anyone, but... just in case.

But as he was doing at she turned and left. He blinked, watching her go for a few moments before standing and turning away himself. "See you then, Aithne." It would be fun.
