Vaith was taking a lesson from Xiu. Check in on a friend with a gift in hand. Vaith had always liked Aurian's personality and company, since the time they had been members for the same group during the haunted house fiasco. Given the added bonuses that she was an attractive female and reaper, Vaith didn't think they hit it off too badly. At least, that was his one sided opinion. He hadn't seen her for awhile and this "worrying" thing was starting to irritate him. SInce it had become such a bother, he gave up and acted on it instead by visiting her dorm.
What was an appropriate gift for a ghoul? Not tea-- Vaith was no good at actually making things and if he was no good at them, he simply avoided them. So he had taken the easy way out and bought a small box of pumpkin chocolates as a calling gift. He held the little wrapped bag in one hand, the other pausing in front of the door. He hesitated slightly and then decided to simply go for it.
Knocking at her door, Vaith waited with a relaxed ease, as if he were in front of his own room. Of course, the reaper dorms were their territory! How could he not be comfortable in them?
"Yo, Aurian. Are you in?"

"Vaith!" If Aurian was surprised to see the other Reaper at her door (and she was) it was quickly hidden behind her pleasure at seeing an old friend. She backed up, holding the door open. Red eyes flicked sideways, scanning the room for anything... not for the eyes of boils. Nope, seemed safe enough. Her attention focused back on Vaith. "Come in, please."
Her gaze fell on the bag in Vaith's hand, but she put her curiosity for it aside. It had been a few months since she'd seen Vaith. It seemed he hadn't been idle for that time. "You look different. Good," she hastened to add. "I like the new clothes. I heard you graduated?"
It made Aurian's cheeks heat up. Here she was, barely making any progress with her studies and Vaith was now even further above her.
"Oh, um, have a seat. Do you want a drink? Muffin? Spookie?" Never let it be said that Aurian wasn't a good hostess.

Oh. The door opened. Vaith was half-expecting it to be empty .. but he couldn't deny the little jump when he realized she was actually in. "Were you expecting anyone?" He asked idly, thinking that she was rather prepared for his visit. A knock did ruin the surprise a bit but surprise hadn't been his aim. In his experiences, Vaith wasn't quite prepared for anyone's visits. His hair products often scattered across the ground, the clutter a result of occasional visits.
"I look good? If a ghoul likes you thinks so, I must be doing it right." He looked down at his clothes, working a prideful grin to his lips. "You heard right. I figured a new look has got to be the way to go if you're leveling up." He sat down on a chair in the room, pulling the box easily from the partially wrapped bag. He spoke as he handed the box to Aurian, his other hand rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
"Uh.. There are for you. I'll take a cool drink if you have one."
Vaith wasn't sure how to explain a gift out of nowhere.
"T-they're a calling gift. I know ghouls don't like to eat sweets all the time but I figured once in awhile couldn't hurt. It's a small box too-- Wait, if you've eaten sweets recently, i guess that would make it redundant." Vaith frowned, realizing his mistake. But what was he supposed to do, call her up beforehand and asked if she ate sweets?
He wasn't doing much better at hiding his nervousness. Damn, he made a smooth entrance, he just didn't keep it up.

Aurian's head tilted to one side, a tiny frown appearing. "No, I wasn't expecting anyone," she replied, confused. A quick shrug and then she was back to her smiling self. Vaith was strange sometimes, but that was okay, Aurian liked him anyway.
Her smile grew as Vaith held out the bag of sweets. See, Vaith was so nice! What did it matter if he had very random thoughts out of nowhere like Aurian expecting other guests (she didn't even have anything fancy prepared!).
"Thank you!" She accepted the bag and took it over to the bench where Aurian puttered around, humming as she worked. It was only a minute or two before she returned with a tray that held two cool drinks and a small selection of spookies and muffins. "Have a seat," she said, nodding behind Vaith.
There were no chairs as such (first year dorm rooms weren't large by any standards), but there were two tall, round objects that looked like a cross between a cushion and a seat. They were soft to sit on, without sinking down too far. It was the best Aurian had been able to do, given all the warnings from other ghouls about not letting boils sit on her bed with her.
"I like sweets," she reassured Vaith. Mostly she made them herself to share with others, so it was a nice surprise to have someone give them to her instead. "So is much different now that you're a second year?"
