Vienna was used to finding comfort in the dens of others. She was more than gracious when a family of cheetah had allowed her the use of their den, and was more than sad to find that they had not only left, but it wasn't their den at all!

Now that she was safely away from the leopard that had seen fit to run her off, Vienna found herself...lost. Or at least, more so than usual. Her delicate paws thumped on the hard terrain with all the grace of a tired child. She just wasn't used to travel. Her paws weren't prepared for it, as was evident by the numerous blisters and cracks. Her vivacious eyes were strained, her coat tarnished and her spirit...well, it was beginning to fade. Was this truly the plan of the Gods?

She'd come all this way with her brother and his mate, only to have them disappear. That made her rump thump down as she started to ponder. Did they abandon her? Of course not! They were on a mission together! But then, why...?

Egeman`psyche had been a picturesque brother and family male. He grew up in a loving home with very few bumps in the road. Then his sister abandoned the pride and brother seemed to simply disappear. He had been on route to leaving the home they had always known when Egeman heaved a desperate decision on Ric and turned back. He felt his heart break in two when he decided he would just go home, but he knew deep down it was right and he was sure he'd see his little brother again. They had been attached at the hip since very young..

It was those thoughts that crossed this troubled adult males mind as he trampled the dry grass of the roguelands. He had gotten home, realized he had given up everything when he had left, but grew strong from the experience, made a new home for himself and was now enroute to get himself some love in his life.

---

Day in and day out he walked, he never ran, never fought, nothing eventful ever happened it seemed. He ate small and ate wise and stopped for water when it was available. His hope and faith in luck and fate were dwindling slowly, upon the seventh day his luck seemed to turn around and the sun seemed to light the way. For there, perched upon the dry, crisp ground was a bright white pelted female. Her spirit seemed to be dwindling as his fate had been and she seemed almost faint?

He did not get close, in fact he kept back some ways, watching her, seeing her every shift for a few minutes before announcing himself formally. "Well, hello there.." He almost cooed. His heavy paws carried him slowly forward, his head was lowered and a fresh, friendly smile seemed to glow on his face.

Vienna turned her wild, sparkling eyes to find a most handsome stranger venturing her way. "Oh my." Her heart was in an instant flutter, a blush spreading along her cheeks down the valley of her neck. She knew more than most exactly how it felt to be young, and to see beauty, but she also knew that with her experiences in the rogue lands that some males weren't as charming on the inside as they were on the outside. Still, that didn't stop her from sitting up a little straighter and flashing her brightest smile.

"Well met, sir." Vienna lowered her head in a light, polite bow. "You've brought joy to my heart. I thought I was never going to see another smile so long as I lived."

Egeman was pleasantly startled by the luscious gazed he received, her eyes seemed to gobble him right up and he was instaly flattered. His smile became even more bright and true and he settled his rump down before her, returning her bow with a head lowering of his own. "If my smile is as uplifting as your eyes, then may the Gods be praised, I have found what I am looking for..." He said in a complimentary fashion.

"What is a beautiful young lady, like yourself, doing so far from a home, or protection?" He would have asked any female that to flatter her, but he actually meant it this time, this graceful beast was without a soul around and she seemed so dainty and fragile. He was honestly concerned for her well being, his mind lost a little focus on his target to bring home.

She laughed lightly, the sound as sweet as a bird's song. Oh no! What if he thought she was laughing at him? Oh, no, he wouldn't think like that. Surely he knew what a charmer he was, and what his kind words were doing to her. "And what exactly are you looking for?" She questioned, adding a little 'hmm' at the end of her words.

She shifted to give him her full attention, though still managing to keep her almost coy pose. Well, as coy as a female could be while still holding all the innocence of a child. "I'm on a mission from the Gods with my brother and his mate. We were given the task of cultivating good faith and cheer by our Pridal elders, but I lost track of them some time ago, and now...." Now, she was on her own.

His eyes wandered a little more, what was a male to do.. a female had basically tried presenting herself to him. She cooed and laughed so softly and gently, the sounds were like that of a Gods praise. He was certainly in heaven on earth. "Well m'dear... with your gentle eyes and soft voice..." He started with compliments, these were easy to come by, since the truth was easy to say. "...you'd be very well taken care of in my home." He smiled lightly, eyes half-lidded, creating a beautiful scene simply with his voice.

"A warm den, soft foliage to sleep on each night, fresh meals and no one will lose track of you..." He was purring now, it was a soft sounding rumble that echoed faintly from his chest. Edge was trying to promise hopes, dreams and protection, the things most females would love, or so he thought. He awaited through the silence some kind of response.

And what a voice! She was terrified of speaking louder than a mere whisper on the off chance that it angered the Gods. However, to hear it from another was enough to send Vienna's heart racing. Was he...flirting with her? No, surely he was just being nice, like all males were.

She couldn't breathe. This male...he was dangerous. Not in a physically threatening way, but in one of her faith. How was she supposed to follow her mission when this wonderful male was telling her all these glorious things? She gaped at approrpriate intervals, even sighed with pleasure while she listened to the scene he described.

"A warm den..." Vienna repeated, lost in her sea of wonder. When she pulled herself back down to Earth, she flushed, her pale cheeks gaining color. "If your home is anything like what you say it is then it's absolutely divine. However..." She bit her bottom lip as she tilted her head down, then slowly turned her eyes back up to him. "How do I know for sure that you are telling the truth? Besides, even if you were, I wouldn't be able to go with you. I have work to do in these lands." Even as she said it she almost whimpered. The thought of walking for even another day was a nightmare.

Her voice, music to his ears, the songs of Gods could not compare he was sure of it! Egeman listened closely, for the words she spoke seemed to be tugging at the option of simply leaving.

"M'dear, you hear my words..." He said slowly raising himself from where he was seated. If she was any type of Gods woman she would sense a sweet aura, one of caring and honesty. Egeman decided to throw in all he had. "My words share no lies..." He said simply, eyes half-lidded and smile slowly growing as he expressed to her about his home and more.

His paw stepped forward, he made an almost 'oopsie' remark, but continued moving. She was seated very still and he took advantage of this. Egeman, not one for romancing, still felt a very close connection to her. In seconds he was with her, face to face, and brought his maw to her listening ear. "We have a paradise among lions.." He purred, his words appealing to her hopefully. "A God walks among our people.. barriers protect those inside. You'll never be forgotten and you will only walk if I say walk..." He smiled softly at this.

He could not let himself forget, that as much as he needed a Queen in his world, he needed one that would obey if he needed her too. "You'll be the center of my universe. Cared for, loved and cherished." His eyes twinkled as he felt his heart skip a beat, his own cheeks flushing on cue as he gazed at her eyes.

Secretly inside he hoped she would not say no, and if she did that there were no lions around. All this wooing could really mess with a lion.
