  It was indeed one of Schuy's brothers at the tree line. Alkion stared at the new comers, his mind already whirling with teasing comments and flirtaceous advances respectively for his sister and the pretty new comer.
"Oi, sister dear. Who is this beautiful flower you have brought among us?" he prodded. "She your friend? Yeesh she looks like she could be your sister!" He commented.About this time an orange stallion across the field lifted his head and looked over. OMG! Who was that?! His eyes bugged out and his heart leaped in his chest. What just happened? No matter. Who was that??? He sidled closer and tried to catch some of the conversation. Anything to be closer to this enchanting creature.

 Schuyler snorted. "Oh don't flatter yourself Alkion. Zai wouldn't stoop down to your level. Where's mom and Dad? Or even Ion or Tide?" She asked, she knew she should probably go to Dark Ion first but her uncles always did intimidate her a little. Zaira looked away, a small smile on her face. "I'm Zaira, and yes I am one of Schuyler's friends. We met when we were just foals."((sorry it took so long!! gonk ))

"Mom and dad are frolicking in the far field, wouldn't bug them right now. Tide is on a date with Kainda and Ion is happily pestering his brother's fish with a leafy stick. I notice you don't ask where Hellfyre is." Alkion snickered.
Kai was tip toeing closer. He was trying to be unobtrusive behind a tree. Trying to garner the courage to walk up to his brat of a cousin and the two mares. He puffed up and walked out from behind the tree, his visage composed and his steps confident.
"What were you doing behind the tree? Looking for bugs stuck in the sap?"
Kai frowned at his cousin. "No I was shielding my ears from your awful flirting." he told Alkion.
"Hello Schuy, Ma'am." He nodded at the females.

Schuyler had to try to not laugh at the cousin's exchange. "I bring home one friend and neither of you will even let us get through the tree line! Boys!" She says as she turns to Zaira, "Don't pay attention to them." Schuy then turns back to the boys, "Hey Kai, this is my friend Zaira you two. Zai, the 'funny' guy over here is my brother Alkion and the peeping tom is my cousin Kai. And to answer your statement, Alki, I often forget about Hellfyre since he often goes off and galavants around doing who knows what." With this Schuyler laughed. Zai tried to keep the smirk off her face as she watched the siblings and cousins squabble. Only when she realized that Schuy was doing introductions did she drop her smirk and smile at the two stallions. The first stallion's, the one she knew now as Alkion, advances on her didn't escape her attention but once the other one, Kai, walked up it was as if Alkion had vanished. Zaira resisted asking him if they had ever met before because it seemed to her that she should know him, though she know's that she could not.

Kai looked utterly embarrased. "Oh yes, Of course please come in Zaira." He stepped aside. And glared at his cousin who was blatantly leering. "Alkion her eyes are up here."
"Huh what?"
"Quit staring at her its impolite."

Both of the girls looked at each other and started giggling. "Boys." They said in unison which only made more laughter. Then, Schuyler had a mean, but fun, idea. "Awe, Kai. You're so sweet, coming to Ziara's aid to fend of the evil Alkion's advances? Aweee, how cute."With this, Zaira blushed deeply. "Well they can't flirt with you Schuy since you're family so I suppose they must with someone." Giggles escaped her mouth as she finished. "So, Schuyler, what now?" Zai eyed the two stallions, wondering if either really had any interest in her. Schuyler froze, she hadn't of really thought about what they would do if they couldn't talk to on of the elders. "Ummmm...." She looked to her brother and cousin for ideas, wondering if they might know of something fun to do.

"We could go for a swim at the waterfall." Kai put forward.
"Oh yes a swim on a hot day like this." Alkion waggled his eyebrows at Zaira.
Kai snarled and mock kicked at him. "Be polite Twig Breath!"
"What?"
"You are such a dunce."

"Oh you two just stop." Schuyler laughed.
"There's a waterfall near here??" Zaira exclaimed, she loved swimming almost as much as she loved apples. "Could we go swimming?" She looked at Schuy with excitement, before looking shyly at Kai. "Well I mean, if you guys want to..."
Schuy looked back and forth between Zaira and Kai, it now becoming obvious what was happening. "Wellll, I think maybe Alkion and I should go find Ion to discuss this with him so you two go on ahead." She said with a wink towards Kai. "I should probably go spend time with Thalion anyway. Come on Alki." She nudged Zai's butt in encouragement.
"B-but Schuy..." Zai dragged on wondering what her friend was up to.

Alkion scowled at his sister."You had to do that didn't you?" he mumbled and grumbled. But he did follow her when she left.
Kai watched his sister, it finally clicked she was helping him and he smiled so brightly as to be nearly blinding in nature. He mouthed "Thank you." at her. To Zaira he said "We can go make sure the water is warm enough for them."
"Why do we so desperately need to find Ion? Its not like Zaira is a threat to Uncle Hellfyre's latest batch of children." He nodded at the two flame colored blankets beside the Great Tree.

Noticing her cousing mouth "thank you", Schuyler nodded her head before going out of sight and earshot. "Yes I did have to do that Alki. And we don't really need to find Ion because like you said, Zai isn't a threat. I was trying to get YOU away from them since you were flirting so shamelessly. And we both know that you didn't really like Zaira like that, unlike Kai. Didn't you see it? How he instantly lit up the moment he saw her? Now of course, Kai is often....easily excited, but theres no use in not giving them some space."Zai watched her friend walk away with her flirtatious brother. "I would really like to go swimming, hopefully the water is warm! Is it far from here?" She asked him, a twinkle in her eye. "I wonder why Schuyler left..." She had an idea of why her friend might have left her with a stallion she had just met, but she couldn't be for sure. "So this is where you live?" She asked out of the blue, Zaira was still trying to make the family tree in her head from what she knew of Schuyler's family.

"Yes this is where we live. Our herd has grown rather large but we are a good natured only partially rowdy bunch. We have plenty of room for all the little families a great tree for a sleeping place and yes the waterfall we are going to now. It's not too far and it is so beautiful."
"You drew me away from a pretty mare so my cousin could woo her?! How could you sister mine! You can not tell me that you can't see she is beautiful and more well more then that orange giraffe can handle?"

Sighing, Schuyler shook her head, "Why are you so set on 'wooing' her? I didn't think you would like her. Or is it just because she's the only mare around here besides your family for miles?" She snickered, knowing her comment was partially correct.
"I know from Schuyler that your herd has grown large. A lot larger than when she and I had first met. So...which ones are your parents?" Zaira was trying to connect the lines between every one. "If everyone is like Schuyler is then they must definitely be rowdy! I know Sky gets kinda crazy sometimes. I can't wait to see the waterfall. I've only seen one or two my whole life. I think it will be really cool to be able to swim by a waterfall!" Her voice was filled with excitement at the thought of swimming.

" I like her. Its not everyday you meet another polite mare you know." Alkion defended. He wasn't heartless.... just a little dense and stubborn sometimes.
"My parents are Dark Tide and Kainda. My father is the herd's second. His older brother Ion is the leader. And the youngest brother Hellfyre is the warrior of the herd." Kai grinned. "My full name is Kai Darksun. Only the dark children carry the true Dark name. Others, like me, have alterations as it would be odd to call me simply Dark Kai what with my bright coat."
"The waterfall is rather large and feeds a deep pool of clear water, the area is surrounded by large plants. It is one of the nicest places on the herds lands."

Schuyler sighed, "Just do what you want then, but if you hurt her, or get in a fight with Kai over her. I WILL hurt you, and don't think I won't, little brother. You better behave yourself if you speak to Zai again, understood?" Her voice was stern, trying to make sure he understood just how serious she was. Zai was one of her few childhood friends and she didn't want anything happening to her.
Zai nodded her head with each name Kai named off as if building a family tree in her head. "And Schuyler's father is the leader's son, correct? Oh so many azrein it makes my head hurt!" She giggled. Their large herd seemed ginormous to her since she was used to living on her own. "Are there any fishies in the pond Kai? I hate it when they nibble on my hooves, it kind of tickles." she giggled once more, enjoying the other's company immensely.
