 Everything was pretty much ready for the party - the gift Glyph had spent a good while thinking on, the arrangements and the invitations had gone out, the hunt with his Rangers had gone spectacularly and it felt incredibly good to flex his metaphysical muscles once more.
But what was left, really, was most important - how to impress Xun. He wanted to charm the dragon, woo him properly... and the best advice for that was Rio of course! So he stood before Love's door now, smoothing the long loin-cloth he'd taken to wearing for modesty's sake. Mortals seemed distressed when he walked around in nothing but his skin and bark... and while it mattered naught to Forest, he had donned the garment to put them at ease.
Bare chested and olive-skinned, he was still a little wet from his walk outdoors with the rain and mist when he knocked and stepped back, hoping Rio was in.

Rio was finding himself very in demand of late - first Xun Jiang, then Tien, and now Glyph stood at his door. Looking very, very different, Love saw when he opened the door. He bore little resemblance to the Glyph he'd seen last, and was astonishingly tall, but there was absolutely no mistaking that it was Forest who now stood towering above him.
Looking him over in admiration, Rio grinned. "Adi's going to be disappointed she missed this."
"Please, come in."

Glyph smiled as Love looked him over and chuckled softly, "I was thinking that not too long ago... Though, if she really wanted the story, she can ask Xun, he was there with me." The smile broadened as he though of his Aoide-to-be and tilted his head, "Have you heard from her? Is she doing well? Azeroth is full of wonders I'm sure she'll enjoy but it's dangerous too..." It was clear he worried for the girl in addition to his pride in her.
"Thank-you." He stepped forward, bowing to tuck his branches in under the door and stood just within a moment before continuing further in Love's apartments. "Am I imposing? I was hoping to seek your advice, to be honest..." Lingering beside a couch, he seemed reluctant to sit without making sure he could monopolize a few minutes of Rio's time. To anyone his nerves were apparent... but to love, it likely appeared as though Forest had a good case of Moon Struck.

"After a fashion. Caoin came back to let me know they'd arrived safely. He's gone back, now, for whenever they decide to come home." It sounded like the plan was for two weeks, but who was to say it would stay that way? At the mention of dangers, he groaned and covered his face with his hands. "Please, don't remind me. I'm trying not to think about it and just trust that Elik will take care of her." A lot of parents might have been worried about the Elik part of that equation and the 'dangers' of their daughter being off on an adventure with a young man, but Love was not one of them. He was much more worried about actual dangers.
Gathering himself, he shook his head and sat amongst the floor pillows of the sitting room. "No, not at all."
"How can I help?" He seemed to be saying that a lot lately! He'd known to expect Glyph and Xun, at least...the rest had been surprises.

"That's a relief," he seemed to let out a breath at that, "Nobody came to tell me she'd safely arrived. I trust Elik and I know the Night Elves. As long as she carries my banner as it were they will aid her... if her own charm doesn't win them over in the first place." He chuckled. Adrienne's enthusiasm and innocence was often impossible to stand against.
Sympathy played across his features as Rio responded and he nodded, "Elik will, I've faith in that."
He followed suit and settled down among the cushions and stretched out, his leaves pooling about him like a dryad's and flexing his toes caused them to wiggle in strange ways. It still amused him he could independently move the digits. "Aah... well. Xun admitted loving me... and I'm very grateful for that. I've nursed a longing for him for a while but I've little idea on how to go about courting him. I want to romance him properly, as it were. But beyond that, I am here also to invite you to the party we are planning."
He smiled, "It's supposed to be a 'date' of sorts for us but Xun's met so few people... we thought a party would be best that way the Council and the Dragon Kings can mingle with everyone else." And he'd get to show off his boyfriend! "It will be held in the marketplace the mortals are building and I would be honoured if Love attended. Will you come?"

"Aah, sorry." Of course Glyph would have been worried, though it clearly hadn't occurred to Love before this, something he consequently felt quite silly about. "I should have let you know, I've just been...distracted." He'd found himself very suddenly busy, between Leo's arrival and all of this advice-giving lately. Why was it that everything seemed to happen at once? He didn't mind, per se, especially given that he could use the distraction, but...goodness! It was almost excessive.
"Did he? Good, I'm glad." And he already knew, but decided it better to pretend he didn't, and that Xun had not already come to see him. "Is there anything specific I can help you with?"
"A party?" This, too, he was already aware of, but he could be very good at lying when it served his purposes and aided his domain. "Of course, I'd be delighted!"

"I have been busy as well... but I am glad the news is good!" Glyph waved off Rio's guilt, not terribly upset but the lack of communication. He would know, he believed, if he was needed.
Amethyst eyes lit up and he smiled broadly, honestly glad that Rio would attend, "Excellent! That makes me very happy. And, please, do invite whoever you know. Everyone's welcome. I just hope we'll have enough food..." Trailing off, he watched Rio for a moment and then collected his thoughts to answer Love's question.
"I was hoping... you'd give me pointers? I'd like to impress Xun but I also want to spoil him rotten at least this once but I'm not sure how to go about it." He smiled self-deprecatingly as he cast his gaze to the floor, "I don't want... to come on to strong. And I wanted to set up something romantic just for the two of us after the party... something just we two can enjoy. I have a gift to give him then but it I want it to be a special evening..." He pursed his lips, not entirely sure what he was talking about. Nothing in mortal or immortal memory really helped him there. Malh'reth had never really fallen in love or courted anyone and the experiences with Phae certainly didn't help... which left him the fumbling, uncertain and awkward steps he'd taken with Ilisia and Glyph sorely wanted to be more polished then that.

Rio rested his chin in his hand while he regarded Glyph, fingers tapping lightly at his cheek. "How you woo someone is a very individual thing, really." He was repeating, essentially, the same thing he had told Xun, but it was true regardless. "The sincerity of your efforts is what matters the most, and everything else must flow from that."
"You know him better than I do. Think about what he likes, look for ideas, and begin to narrow them down until you have something you can work with, that suits your goals."

What Rio said was entirely... useless! Glyph frowned and shifted, the quiet creak of wood the only sound Forest made as he considered those words. They said much and very little at the same time - it frustrated Glyph.
When he did speak, the god lifted his gaze to meet Rio's, "That doesn't really help me..." He didn't really know that much about Xun... only the sides that he'd seen and come to like. What Lifewater enjoyed, he wasn't so sure. "He likes swimming, water in general, stealing my sweets... I'm not sure what else, to be perfectly honest." Glyph sighed, wavering in his confidence and wondered if this was a good idea after all...

Glyph's frustration with his advice didn't ruffle him, and he continued to calmly regard the other god. "I can't court him for you," he teased gently. "Well, I suppose I could, but that would probably not have the desired result."
"I can't tell you exactly what to do, or it would not be you. He has already professed to love you, and if that is so, anything you do for him will please him." The 'hard' part, as it were, had already taken care of itself. "He likes water, so. What ideas does that give you?"
It gave Rio several, but he would see first if Glyph could find them on his own.

"I would appreciate it if you didn't do that... I couldn't win against Love himself if he chose to charm someone, I think." He laughed a little, hoping Rio was joking - he'd like a chance first!
Several ideas flashed through Glyph's mind, most of them carnal, and he flushed as he coughed, "A few..."
Smoothing his loincloth, Glyph looked down as he brought his thoughts back into order, "Hmm... floating candles at his favourite pond? A gift of water? But that would be silly, the best water is from his own wells..." He pursed his lips, "I suppose I could show him the waterfall I found in the woods? I'm sure he'd enjoy those, magnificent as they are and ringed by willows. Any other ideas?"

Rio laughed as well, waving a hand in dismissal. "You'd be surprised, actually."
But that was neither here nor there, at the moment. "The waterfalls sound excellent! Very romantic. Do you plan on eating at the party, or having something just for the two of you after?"

"I had planned on a little of both... enjoying the party, introducing Xun to the others that I know - he's more of a recluse then I thought - and then stealing away for just the two of us after. Perhaps with some wine or some treats... I'm not really sure." Glyph mused, the tilt of his head causing the leaves of his hair to whisper with the movement.

Rio nodded his approval. "Wine and some small things would likely be best - you don't want your stomachs too full, hm?" He grinned. "Do you know what his favorite foods are, or do you both like sweets?"

"Mmn, fish I think." Glyph pondered that a moment then nodded, "I adore sweets but I think he steals them from me just to be a pain." Forest laughed softly and shrugged, "Why? Can you make romantic fish appear? Or... the mortals have talked about it but I've never seen it, candied fish. I wonder if I can find some of that in the market. Do you think someone would be selling any? It's apparently a delicacy."
