It wasn't often that Nitor found himself alone in the herd..but Alaera was off with some of her female friends and Nitor had excused himself before being caught up in what would likely dissolve into a discussion about things he really didn't want to hear - I mean really females could come up with the oddest topics to talk about!
In any case he knew she would find him when her girls day was over with and in the meantime he would just have to occupy himself. Honestly if he was smart he'd be resting while he got the chance - before she came home and dragged him off on another treasure hunting adventure...but as luck would have it Nitor just didn't feel like napping at the moment and so he'd decided to squander his alone time with a trip to a nearby orchard in the hopes of finding some windblown apples - they would make a wonderful addition to the evening meal and allow him to escape the mid-day sun, all in all it seemed like a win win situation to him and surely the second best use of his time besides napping and so the blue stallion trotted into the shade humming a cheerful tune as he went.

Stupid trees. Stupid grass. Stupid everything! This land was supposed to be their new home, it was supposed to be safe, and Mornhavon was so far not impressed. In his many wanderings from he herd he had found only one individual he could even begin to say he liked, the rest were either bloody idiots or they had tried to kill him. So he had made the decision, he would go back, back to where they had come from. Anything had to be better that this right? Sure they had been hunted in their old home but hell at least there weren't that many two-leggers. There were tons of large Soquili here and with the bad number of run ins he had had so far Mornhavon was willing to take the chance. Now all he had to do was find someone in the herd who remembered how to get home and then he would be off.
Oh and he would need to find his lizard before leaving, Morose would be pissed if Mornhavon left him behind. So, information, then lizard,t hen journey home. So simple he wasn't sure why he hadn't done it before. Now, who would know the way back home. He stood there glancing over the many gathered in the meadow. There were some he would refuse to talk to even if they had the information he was looking for. Then he heard whistling and turned his attention to see Nitor not far off. That stallion should know. So walking towards the Imp he let out a snort. "What the hell has you so happy?" It was the closest thing to a cheerful hello Mornhavon could muster at this point.

Nitor's cheerful humming came to a quick halt as an irritated sounding voice came crashing in to disturb it. Mornhavon...great...if ever there was a member of the herd that could ruin a happy afternoon it was probably him which was odd considering that he was a healer of sort..Nitor had never met another healer with a worse bedside manner and he sounded like he was in a fine fit of mood today, probably couldn't find whatever odd plant he'd been in search of or something.
Oh yes Nitor had heard the rumors..how Mornhavon squandered most of his ability playing with plants instead of actually healing now a days. If he ever got sick well..he didn't think he would go looking for Mornhavon that was for sure! "Well..nothing really, or I suppose you could say nothing's happened today to make me unhappy so why not be cheerful?" He responded to the other stallion although he was sure that Mornhavon would either disagree or think such a theory rather stupid. Oh well.
"You seem to be a bit uh..perturbed however..anything I can help you with by chance?" Now why had he gone and offered to help? Now he would be stuck trying to solve whatever problem had made the other stallion grumpy today instead of looking for apples in the shade like he'd wanted to.

What utter crap. No reason to be unhappy so why not be cheerful. Mornhavon snorted once more and gave his head a solid shake. "You are a bloody damned fool Nitor. We are were." Clearly the rest of the herd had closed their eyes and ignored the bigger picture of what was happening. Did they so desperately want a new happy place to live that they were willing to ignore all the new dangers? Fools, all of them! Well Mornhavon wasn't going to be a fool. He had seen things and he was not about to stand around and wait for those bad things to come to him. Let them stay here, he would have their old home all to himself! Tail flicked irritatedly behind him as he considered his next words. Oh he was perturbed alright.
"You have no bloody idea how perturbed I am! You try having a bug land on your nose only to have it suddenly turn into a giant buggering Soquili that's the size of a tree and then it try to kill you! Then you will be perturbed too!" That probably made him sound crazy, but those damned Flutters were a danger to society and it had been the last straw. "What you can do is tell me how to go back home. Or point me to someone who can tell me. This is not worth it, I will chance the two-leggers any day over the hell we have placed ourselves in now." It would take months to get back likely but he didn't care, it would be worth it or he would die trying. Either way he would be better off than he was currently.

Nitor blinked slightly at Mornhavon's outburst, he didn't blink so much at being called a damned fool - Mornhavon had never been the type to sing praises about others, but at the story about the bug. A bug that apparently turned into a Soquili the size of a tree - Nitor glanced up at a nearby tree with a bit of skepticism on his face. That would be one big Soquili - clearly the other stallion was exaggerating and that didn't even begin to explain something changing size like that.
"Are you sure you didn't eat any unfamiliar berries or something?" He asked the other stallion in gentle voice, strange herbs and berries could do strange things to you he knew, the healers were forever warning them not to eat strange plants until they had been examined now that they were in a new area but Morn wasn't exactly one to take advice either. "You don't really want to go back do you? You'll be speared for sure if your the only one there" Crazy and mean or not NItor certainly didn't want to condemn one of his fellows to that sort of a death and once Mornhavon calmed down he would probably change his mind. And hopefully he would stop eating whatever crazy berries he'd fed himself to have such a strange vision too.

Mornhavon snorted. So Nitor didn't believe him! Of course he wouldn't. Everyone in this herd were so trapped in a bubble of their own self they would never listen to anyone else unless they were saying exactly what the other was thinking. Yet another reason why he disliked the group he lived with. But the worst insult of all was when Nitor asked if he had eaten anything unfamiliar. Ha! Like he would be so dumb as to do that! Isn't that why he was always looking for test subjects whenever he found a new plant. Mornhavon may want to know what those plants did but never ever tested them himself. "Have you lost your mind? Why would I eat something unfamiliar when I have mindless twits to do that for me?!"
His head shook in disbelief and frustration. Honestly he figured if the herd found out he wanted to go back they would probably throw a celebration that he was leaving and point him on his way. But apparently Nitor thought otherwise, or just was trying to mess with him. "Of course I want to go back! This land is nothing but trouble! You'll see...when you run into that bug I did. She damned near squashed me!" Mornhavon shuddered as he recalled what had happened, it was the first and only time in his life when he had been truly scared. Even facing a hunter with a spear trained on him would be nothing compared to that mare barreling at him in sheer anger. No he would accept the fate the old lands had in store for him, it would be for the best.

Nitor raised a brow slightly but was quick to bob his head in acceptance of the others comments so that he wouldn't become even more agitated "Okay okay" He agreed - if morn said he hadn't eaten any strange berries then he hadn't. On purpose anyways, Nitor didn't discount the fact that he might have eaten on or two by mistake - which would also explain an hallucination instead of death. Yep that was probably it.
"It would be an awfully long trip back alone" He pointed out "And you wouldn't arrive until winter... that's not a good time back there, perhaps you should rethink your trip and time your arrival with spring - you don't want to be trying to hunt up food after a long and harrowing journey" He pointed out - and likely by the time the proper departure time rolled around Morn would have forgotten about this silly idea of his and settled into their new home.
"Beside who would you get to test out your herbals if your back there all by yourself" He pointed out after a few moments of thought - surely that, if anything, would change his fellows mind - Mornhavons creepy little habit would have to come to a quick end if he started wandering off all by himself.

Mornhavon's tail flicked in frustration. "I don't need a silly traveling partner. Besides I have Morose to keep my company." Morose was Mornhavon's lizard familiar and was about as unpleasant to be around as Mornhavon himself was. They were like two peas in a pod in that sense. Neither wished to have anyone around but each other, but not all the time either. They each needed their space but would be there when the other needed help. Usually for Morose it was retrieving something high up in a tree for Mornhavon and for Mornhavon he protected the lizard from predators. "I'd get by." How much food did Nitor think he would need? It was just one Soquili worth of food to find, that wouldn't be a challenge at all.
He was about to force the answer out of Nitor, as to the direction he needed to travel to get on his way when the only argument in the world to stop his was brought up.
Damn.
He hadn't even thought of that. If he wanted to continue to experiment then he would need to bring or find a test subject. This certainly would complicate things. Here he was ready to leave and Nitor just had to throw in the only roadblock Mornhavon couldn't ignore. "Well bloody damned hell!" He mumbled a few extra choice words under his breath as his hoof pawed at the ground. What the hell was he going to do now. Mornhavon began to pace, speaking to himself though certainly Nitor would hear him. "I can't stay, this land sucks. But I need minions to do my bidding. Be damned this is why I hate life." He continued to pace temporarily ignoring Nitor as he tried to figure out the best solution to this current mess he was in.

Nitor watched as Mornhavon paced back and forth mumbling to himself - if the other stallion wasn't so very damned serious about all of this Nitor would probably find it funny. as it was he found himself attempting to think up a solution - not for Mornhavon..no going back to the old lands would only spell his death and despite his ill temper Nitor wasn't about to do that to one of his fellow..but something that would keep him occupied long enough that he would acclimatize himself to these new surroundings they found themselves in and come to terms with their new home. Given enough time Nitor was sure that Mornhavon would grow to hate this place a little less.
Brow furrowed in thought he had a sudden idea and stamped his hoof to get the other stallions attention "well" He started "Perhaps you could stay long enough to gather up a small herd of choice like minded mares and stallions to return home with you..then you would have test subjects and others to train in your ways. You could be very picky and only take the sorts you'd want to be around of course" It would take forever for Mornhavon to find those types..but maybe the stallion wouldn't think of that right off the bat.

At first Mornhavon ignored Nitor. The stallion was probably going to reveal some other thing that would prevent him from going back home or do something else to crush his spirits. So he continued pacing, only barely hearing the words, until he realized what Nitor was saying, and then he paid attention. Stay here for a while, make his own herd who were willing to go back and then return to their old home once he had enough subjects and loyal followers. Well damn, that wasn't a half bad idea either. Still, he couldn't let Nitor take all the glory in this. Mornhavon wondered why he hadn't thought this up himself. Rage must have gotten in the way.
Bringing his hooves to a stop Mornhavon glanced over at the other stallion. His face was neutral, not wanting Nitor to think he had gained Mornhavon's approval or that he thought the idea was downright brilliant. "That's a lot of bloody work you do realize. I'd have to go around talking to others, being..." He shuddered at his next words "..social and all." Oh but he would do it if it meant going home with his own little group of test subjects. "I'm sure there are worse ideas out there, and probably better ones for that matter." There, he had showed some acceptance of the idea but didn't jump for joy or act happy over it. It was the perfect cover to his actual total approval of the plan.

Nitor watched as Mornhavon mulled over his idea, he hadn't expected the other stallion to jump for joy or anything and might have laughed at the other if he didn't fear doing so would get him stabbed by Morn's horn when the other flew into a rage at being laughed at. Instead he merely nodded his head in agreement "Oh..I'm sure there are..but its a place to start at least. And you wouldn't have to talk to everyone..just the ones you think might be interested in your erm..field of study" Nitor pointed out rather unsure how to describe the other stallions rather unusual hobbies. Somehow he didn't think 'gross' and 'disturbing' would go over all that well.
"I'm sure once you put the word out other who feel the same way as you will be begging for the chance to join you" He added with some enthusiasm in his voice "why you'll have th pick of the lot!" Of course Nitor rather hoped that by the time MOrn actually found a few followers he'd have given up on this deal and settled in but he wasn't going to point that out.

Mornhavon let out a snort and looked over at Nitor as if the other stallion had said something completely crazy. "There have always been others who think like me. But they are often fools, too afraid to speak what is truly on their mind. It is their flaw, but I know they are out there. And I will show them the error of their ways. They will no longer hide their thoughts fro mothers by the time I'm done with them. And we will band together and take back our old home." The others, those who would stay here, would think they all crazy, but Mornhavon knew that he was the one who would succeed. His group would go on and survive, while the others suffered here.
And yet, he was still standing her talking to Nitor. He was wasting time! The sooner he got to talking to others the sooner than could begin their work and head home. "Don't be surprised if by the time I leave your silly herd if left with only a handful of members as they will all be following me." He told Nitor smugly. When that happened it would be Nitor who would come crawling back to him, begging to go with him to their old home. Ha! Wouldn't that be an awesome sight. "Now get out of my way." Mornhavon shouldered past Nitor. "I have work to do and I am wasting too much of it standing here with you." The purple stallion began to trot away but after several strides he glanced over his shoulder. "If you play your cards right there may be a place in my herd for you...and your mate." He let out a laugh and then continued on his way.
