The day was near complete as the sun began its slow descent down to the horizon. Every day, the charcoal-blue male had become more accustomed to the pride life, and every day he loved it even more. He was glad when Atilla and him had found the lands, or they might not be enjoying this life right now. Stretching, the male stood up. He was near the borders today while his brother-mate was off gallivanting with females. That was typical Atilla, though Imre didn’t mind.

His bright eyes scanned the land, before falling on the form of the giant rock formation that made home for hundreds of lions. Pride Rock. Sometimes Imre was curious just how this formation came to be. He had never known a land with such a remarkable landmark. Smiling at the wonder, the lion turned from the border, getting ready to head back into the pride lands.

Indivar was a long way from home, or she would have been had her pride still been intact. The plague that washed through the lands had effectively disbanded it and for a while the blue and white lioness had been at a loss for what to do. Then she decided she was tired of waiting around for something to happen, so she left the mist covered lands of her birth in search of something that would feel like home to her.

She had spent months wandering the roguelands, slipping in and out of random prides as curiosity overcame her. That was the one good thing living in the mist had truly taught her, it was to be sly and invisible until she wanted to be seen. It was a great skill that she cherished, it made going to less friendly prides easier. She didn't have to be seen if she didn't think she would be welcomed.

It had taken her a long time before she ever entered the prideland borders. After spending several days observing, creeping on unsuspecting members she had decided that the environment reminded her of home. It was mainly the abundance of cubs and families that had actually drawn her in. It had been that that lured her to consider this place one of a permanent residence.

She had grown weary of traveling, so when she spotted the male from her hiding spot in the shadows she moved quickly into the light willing to be seen. She hoped she could persuade this stranger to help her in her quest to join. It was a foreign thought to her, she hadn't needed to join her birth pride, she had been born into it.

"Excuse me," she called.

Imre hadn’t seen the azul lioness, and if it weren’t for her speaking up, he probably would have missed her completely. He froze at her voice, turning around quickly. “Oh!” He called out, a look of embarrassment plaguing his facial features. “I’m terribly sorry I didn’t see you there before~” the dark lion apologized, walking up to her, but still keeping a bit of distance between the two.

Since Atilla wasn’t around, Imre was more talkative. He didn’t have his friend to hide behind, and he certainly wouldn’t go ignoring the pretty lioness before him.

The female was of unusual coloration. A lot of the lions in the pride were of a neutral color, though there were some that had splashes of odd colors about them. He had met an entirely purple lion once before, that had definitely intrigued him.

“How can I help a lovely lady like yourself tonight?” He asked, putting on his charm.

Indy studied him in silence as he turned, surprised to find her there. When he stated as much she forced a smile and nodded her head. "I know," she replied, tone colder than she had intended. She was coming off more gruff than she meant, she mentally scolded herself for such. She sighed, tail flicking behind her as she stepped forward. She could see he was wary of getting too close, she couldn't blame him after all she had been taught to do just that until the other person had thoroughly observed.

"I'm new to these lands," she explained once he was finished speaking. She hesitated in saying anything else as she tried to pick the best words. "I am new and I wish to stay," she stated plainly, tone softening as she spoke. "I apologize for my...seemingly hostile attitude this is not something I am accustomed to doing." In truth she hadn't had much encounter with other lions outside of her family. They had always been a rather closely knit sort of group.

"My name is Indivar and I would like you to help me," she told him, straight and to the point. It was easier this way right? "I want you to show me around and introduce me to those that will give me a formal answer as to whether or not I can stay." It didn't seem like she was the type of lioness to skirt around the main point.

Imre was a little taken aback at the other’s tone. He knew females could be pretty assertive, but for some reason this girl was almost like rubbing off the wrong way on the male. He gave a short frown, quickly reversing it so the female wouldn’t notice. He needed to keep with his jovial attitude; it wasn’t Imre’s nature to let a female see him upset with them.

“Well, I wouldn’t be lying if I told you you came to the right place. I’m new here too, along with my best friend Atilla. What brings you to the Pridelands, if I may ask?” the dark male inquired.

“No apologies needed my dear!” Imre smiled again. “You wouldn’t be the first lioness I have met with such…forewardness,” Imre tried to find a term that wouldn’t be offensive to the other, “and you certainly won’t be the last!” he finished with a chuckle.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you then, Indivar. Hopefully I can help you.” He had met the leaders just once before when he and Atilla were given the okay to stay in the lands. He knew where they should be, and would definitely be willing to lead Indivar to them. He paused for a moment, asking a question he likely knew the answer for.

“You don’t impose any threats to the pride…right?” He just had to make sure.

Indivar really just need to let the ice she built up around her melt a little, but that would come with time. Once she felt more comfortable in the lands she had chosen for her home. She didn't like the whole idea of having to join and get to know people. Life in the misty had been easy, she had been born there and didn't have to get to know others that flitted through the pride. She simply knew them because, with most, she grew up with them. That made it easy. She was still adjusting to the entire idea of being social, it would be a while before her ice really started to melt.

"Are you?" She meant to sound surprised, because she was, but she came off more condescending than intended. Her expression remained that of a stony one for a moment while she took another good look at Imre. "You've been helpful so far," she told him, her tone softer and more sincere.

"No, not that I am aware of," she replied without hesitation. The lioness was more gruff than most but she hardly considered herself a threat. She had no ill-intentions. "I am simply tired of wandering aimlessly," she sighed, a flicker of sadness crossing her face. It was gone quickly. "From my observations, this place is warm and welcoming. It gives an..." she paused, a small smile showing on her lips, "air of home."

Home.

That's all she wanted.

As she continued to speak to him, Imre found himself getting use to her tone. It wasn’t as if she was doing it on purpose. Though her expression matched her tone, her body language really hadn’t. Growing up with his bumbling idiot of a friend, he knew best to pay attention to the others body language for what they were going to do next. He had been too well prepared for certain…situations when with his friend as a youngster.

Her softer tone couldn’t have caused Imre’s smile to widen just a bit. If he was helping the least, then that was always a good sign.

“Good!” Imre jovial tone radiated off the nearby rocks. Perhaps he said that just…a little too loud.

“Well, like I said before, you have definitely come to the right place! My old pride was a bit different than this one, yet I still find it just as good as home as my old pride.” He was glad Atilla had too. “If you would like, follow me. I can take you to pride rock to meet with the council? They are the ones that decide if you can stay.” He stated, though was a bit curious.

“What happened to your old pride to make such a pretty lioness like yourself to go awanderin’ aimlessly?” He asked after a moment of silence. It really wasn’t his business, but he thought it would be a good conversation piece as they walked to the large rock formation.

She frowned at the volume of his voice, a brow arching in what might have come off as disapproval. "I'm standing right in front of you," she stated shaking her head slightly. "You don't need to be so loud." Indivar had a hard time with the loud voice, she'd never been one who spoke very loud nor was she used to being around those that had the tendency to be...louder.

"Alright," she replied nodding her head as he told her to follow him. "I would like that," she stated, flicking her tail behind her casually. "You traveled from another pride as well?" She asked, surprised and it showed in the way she slightly tilted her head in consideration. "Which one?" She had flickered in and out of quite a few prides before settling on the pridelands, perhaps she had passed through his old pride.

Then he began asking about her former pride and a sudden sadness overcame the blue lioness. Her expression fell and for a moment her ears were pressed against the back of her skull. "Many things," she replied slowly, carefully. "A plague ran rampant through our lands, because I did not wish to follow in the steps of my ancestors I took my leave. By then my family had scattered," she paused, a heavy sigh slipping from her maw. "I was essentially on my own regardless and so I left the lands of my birth."

“Er…sorry…” he apologized for her tone.

“Indeed I have. It’s a pride I’m sure you’ve never heard of, so I won’t burden you with a name. It had…different ways when it came to…love.” He stated. He’d elaborate if she wanted, but otherwise spoke no more of it. ((Sorry, Leth told me the name I believe of the old pride, I just can’t remember it!)). Not many knew about the pride, for members rarely left it. His family was one of the odd balls that had, choosing the lifestyle that wasn’t sufficient for the pride.

At her saddened features, Imre immediately kicked himself for asking the question. Obviously it pained her to think about her old pride. “Oh…I’m sorry to hear about that…” He said softly. He couldn’t imagine plague striking his home. His ears flattened against his skull for a moment, before trying to bring up the mood again.

“Well…you will love it here! And I’m sure you will meet a lot of new faces here that…one day you can start a new family?” That seemed like a pretty reassuring concept in Imre’s mind.

"Oh, I see," Indivar replied, uncertain if she should press him for more information or if she should leave it be and allow the conversation to stall. At least concerning the topic of his pride. "Don't be," she replied quickly, head snapping up and any really sign of emotion fading from her features. "Everything happens for a reason," she stated confidently.

In truth, the whole debacle regarding her home pride was quite the tragic one but she knew from her visit through other lands that her home was not the only one that had been affected. She had brief interactions with others who had lost their loved ones as she had but she had quickly distanced herself from them. She did not wish to constantly be reminded of what she had lost.

Which was why the Pridelands seemed so promising, it offered so many things that would keep her distracted.

"Perhaps," she replied considering his words carefully. "Though it is not something that is on my list of priorities," she stated with a shrug of her shoulders. She knew she wanted children, she want many because her family had been large, but she was socially awkward and she knew it so it was not on her agenda. Instead she would have rather focus upon herself and her new home.

Imre nodded. “That’s a great way of thinking of it.” All in all, it was a true statement. When it came to his life, Imre was uprooted from his pride and his best friend. It took them years, but they had found each other again. Things happen for a reason, and the dark lion was loving going by that statement.

He nodded again. He wasn’t interested in starting a family /just/ yet either, but with the way Atilla and he lived, who knew what would happen in the future with the ladies that had rounded up and liked being with them.

As they approached Pride Rock, Imre took a glance back at Indivar before clearing his throat. “Uhm…well…The council should be just in there. I’m sure they will accept you into the lands as one of us with no problem.” He smiled to her. “You know, once you are, we should meet up again?” The male offered. The lioness posed no threat to the lands, so her being declined into the pride was something he would never imagine. He was dead sure she’d be among the ranks.

He was also sure Atilla would love to meet her too. Imre wanted to see just how his brother would react to such that of her personality.

It wasn't a statement that she would have claimed was her motto, but it was one that she believed as true. "Thank you," she said, shrugging once again. "I cannot tie myself to the past if I wish to move forward," she explained thoughtfully. It wasn't to say that she would not remember her past and where she came from but simply that it would not be her focus any longer.

She looked a head, in the direction he said the council would be in. She sucked in a breath, her heart pounding a little faster as she nodded. "Sure," she replied casually, glancing over at him before starting forward. "Why not."

So it probably wasn't the response he'd been hoping for but it was a decent one none the less. She agreed to meet him again, she had no issues with him and it was nice to kinda sorta know someone else here. So why not? "Until then," she nodded her head in good-bye and headed off to seek the council.
