 Calida blinked her sleepy eyes and let out a squeaky yawn from her cuddled as well as tangled up position among her siblings. "Hmmm," She murmured before untangling herself and stretching. "Hungry and bored." Cali thought out loud before moving out of her home and squinted as the sun shone to brightly in her waking eyes.
Looking left then right she thought of where to go and what would be easiest to gather some food. Shrugging she said "eenie, meanie, minie, mo" and started walking in the direction her paw had indicated.

 Sar had gotten up eary today. Earlier than normal. It had struck him the night before that he was old enough and big enough to explore the not too far area beyond his den. Especially since the not too far area grew as he grew. It gre a very little a day until he was big enough for it to grow big enough. The thought that had hit him like a two by four, whatever that was, was that he could go exploring for Tala and Tala's family den. If it was in the not too far area like Tala had hinted at the first time they'd met, Sar could possibly visit and surprise Tala. That would be nice.
His stomach rumbled. He woken up so early that Sar hadn't been able to nibbled on the breakfast meal Mom had brought into the den for them. He had taken his fair portion and left for some exploring. His stomach wasn't happy with him. Maybe he could find a good small prey animal to pounce on.
Sar sat down and looked around, semi-hidden in the tall grasses in the area. He wondered where the prey could be found this morning. A flash of red caught his eye and his thoughts went to Tala. Was she up this early as well?

Singing was her favourite she could do it all day if her voice didn't get all scratchy and if her throat didn't dry up. Looking left and then right Cali paused as she decided which route was best. The twisty branches didn't look fun at all, but the tall grass looked alright. Shrugging she chose the grass maybe she'd play game or find cool looking miniture animals inside.
Dashing inside with reckless abandonment Calida didn't think of the consequences that could await her inside. "EE!" She let out a squeak of fright as she ran nose to nose with another cub, a male older cub. Wide orange eyes meet emerald in shock. "Sowwy!"

EE? Tala had never squealed EE before. Sar lay sprawled on his side having landed like that after the unexpected tackling. He slowly looked around and met orange eyes. Not Tala. But kind of Tala? Tala's sister, he told himself.
"It's okay. Are you okay?" After all, Sar was bigger than Tala's sister. Or maybe she was a cousin? Not she had to be a sister. They looked too much alike. And yet: EE?
Sar pulled himself up into a sitting position and stretched, checking to make sure that nothing hurt like he'd seen some other lions do. Nothing hurt, so he guessed he was okay. But his stomach didn't agree and it growled at the lack of fully breakfast action. Giving a quick glance around the tall grasses, Sar doubted anything worth eating had stuck around after their crash and tumbled into the grass. He'd just have to settle for hunger until lunch.

Cali scrambled to get off the other older cub so he could get up but winced as her back leg hurt just a little. "I'm 'kay, how 'bout chu?" She eyed the other male for a moment as if trying to decide what to say. "I'm Calida or you can call me Cali s'up to you. Whatcha doing here? Do you want to play? Do you have family 'round here?" She paused to take a breath and took in a whiff of something sweet smelling. Her eyes widened at the possibility of finding fruit nearby and her stomach agreed by its growling.
"I'm explorin' you know. It's kinda fun but it would be better with some body else~ Wanna join me?"

"You're hurt. You should sit down and rest a little." Sar worried when he saw her wince. If she was Tala's sister like he thought he didn't want her hurt and he didn't think that Tala would like her hurt.
"I'm Sar. I wanted to visit a friend of mine, Tala. I thought her den was over this way." He still thought it was close, but he didn't say that. He used his tail and gestured back to the family den. "I live that way with my wight littermates and lots of my older siblings. Well they used to live with us until they grew too big. Now they have their own dens."
There stomachs were getting older and Sar laughed at their joined belly roars. "Maybe we should find some food before going out exploring." They did really sould funny.

"Okay," She said after a split second before flopping her butt down on the ground. "'lo Sar-Oh! You know Tala!" She said with a little bit of awe she loved her sister and she find it nice that others would know her too. Such a small world. "She's my tister! And yeah our home is close by, you are very close~!" Cali looked to the area he gestured to with a nod. "Yeah when I growed up I want my own house. I love moma and daddy but I wanna be independent." She puffed out her chest proudly as she heard the same thing said by an older lioness she knew.
Looking down her stomach before whipping her head back up she nodded in agreement. "I could eat. I could eat a huge bear! .....Well not really but I'm hungry." She giggled cutely before fluttering her eye lashes. "Lead the way! Food you better watch out cause here we come!"

Sar took a moment to look at the little lioness, yep he should have known. "You look like Tala a little bit. But are definitely a Cali not a Tala." Sar confirmed, taking inventory of the area. He'd been close, maybe Cali would show him later, or he'd be able to find their den next time he went exploring.
"That will be nice, having your own den to relax in and not have siblings around to squish your experiments or specimens or anything, though I know I'd visit with them as often as I could. There's always someone in our den, even if they don't live there any more. Many the other siblings like to come and visit with Mom."
Sar smiled and chose a direction to lead Cali in. Hopefully they'd find something to hunt, or they'd have to go back to their dens to get something to eat from their families, and Sar didn't want to go back just yet. "Let's go this way. I hope we catch something slow, I'm too hungry to try and chase something big and fast." Sar stood, stretched, and started a slow trot in that direction.

"Nope! I am me and she is she!" Cali grinned with a giggle; she loved to giggle. Calida tilted her head curiously. "Experiments? Is that what you do? Yeah, there are many of my siblings around here and I run into them all the time which is nice." Wandering closer she listened in agreement. "Yeah! Somfin slow would be lots better than something that takes a long time to take down." She scrambled after her friend and followed all the while speaking idle chit chat to pass the time. "Oh!" She let out a whispered gasp. "I think I see something! Over there-" Cali pointed. "Do you see it?"

"Yeah. I like experiements. I've been able to do it one all the plants, some rocks, and quite a few insects and small animals." He tilted his head and thought. "I think I want to do one that didn't have anything to do with cutting into them. Maybe one where I just observe behavior instead. Hmmm."
He snapped out of his thoughts when she started talking about her siblings. He really like Cali and Tala. He wondered what her siblings were like. Were they as different as his siblings were? Did they look alike? Lots of questions with no real answers.
He quickly turned to look at .... What? He stared hard. What was that? A broken monkey? "I think I see it ... but what is it?" So much for wanting to do a behavioral experiment.

"Itsa itsa... oh. It's just a plant." Cali pouted and clawed at the earth. "Ahwell still looks pretty neat lookin' and it was almost something scary! Comeon thats go swimming that sounds like loads of fun and we can spend lotsa time in the waterin hole!" Her excitement making her move faster and she pulled him along lightly. A new friend was wonderful and though family was nice it was also just as nice to have someone that wasn't related to you to hangout with~! "Last one there's a rottin' hyena carcass~" She giggled and toddled off into the bush. Oh what fun was instore!
