  Hawkeye stood, his head lowered as he grazed on the newly sprouting grass shoots. He had despised the winter this year, it had been cold and very snowy. All the mares were staying with their herds, meaning he saw very few of them. He snorted and pawed at the ground hoping that some the snow would be moved and more little green shoots could be procured. His ears perked up as he heard the sounds of another, perhaps it was a mare! Someone to keep him company on this wonderfully sunny day.

Isabelle had spent much of the winter traveling since she hated being in one spot for too long. Sure it had been cold, but her constant movement kept her fairly warm. She passed many herds during her travels, but she never fit into any of them very well so she just continued on her way. The winter should be over soon, she thought, then all the babies will be out frolicking and the birds singing. She began to prance through the little thicket she had come across, the snow flying up behind her. As was usual for her she turned that prance into a run, running blindly ahead in a way that gave her such pleasure in that freedom.

Hawkeye's ears perked and he slowly lifted his head. He was curious who could be coming towards him so quickly. He took a few steps forwards before realising that the azrein was actually much closer than he expected. "OH!" he called out in surprise as he quickly hopped out of her way. He smiled, enjoying the sight as she ran past. Her beautiful body swayed most uncommonly as she galloped by him, her blue mane and tail flowing behind her.

Upon hearing a voice, Isabelle opened her eyes and skidded to a stop. She had gone about 15 feet passed where she had heard the voice and turned around to see another azrein looking at her. "Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't run you over or anything did I? I often forget that I'm not the only azrein on this isle since I often run blindly without thinking. My apologies." She looked away, slightly embarrassed.

Hawkeye smiled and bowed magestically, his antlers almost touching the ground as he did. "No, I am not harmed at all! You just surprise me, that is all" he said calmly and trotted over to her. "You seemed to be having a lot of fun. Is it because spring's in the air?" he asked

"Ok good. I'm glad I didn't hurt you at all. And it might be because of spring, but I also just love running. Don't you? I just love running through the fields, I think its fun running in the snow because it flies up behind you." Then realizing she had been talking alot, Isabelle allowed the silence to settle. "I can't wait for the chill in the air to go away and for the spring showers and the flowers!"

The stallion nodded, his antlers causing a slight wind resistance and creating a slight rushing sound. "Yes I too cannot wait to see the flowers and trees begin to leaf out. I believe I will eat as many apples as I can find" he said with another nod of his head. "I don't really like the snow. It's cold on my hooves and keeps me from rolling" he liked to roll in the dirt because it caused his glowing markings to be a little less obvious. He also just liked not being super clean. He was an Azrein, not a human why try to act like one? He looked her over, including her beautiful wings. "You are quite a beautiful mare, if I do say so myself" he bowed his head slightly and added "I am called Hawkeye. It is a pleasure to meet you"

"Oh yes! Apples are amazing. I too will probably eat as many as I can find. They're such a delicious treat. And I-" Isa stopped her sentance so suddenly because she just realized that he had called her beautiful and then introduced himself. "Well, umm, thank you." She looked away awkwardly, unsure of how to respond. She bowed her head back in return having gained her composure. "My name is Isabelle, and its a pleasure to meet you as well. Hawkeye is a very interesting name, like your markings, if you dont mind me saying so. I know I have no right to be talking with my markings on my back being different as well, but yours are just so... intriguing." Isa hoped she wasn't embarrassing the stallion since she wanted to be his friend.

The stallion nodded "Yes well I am quite unique as are you! I like my markings. Other than yours I have not seen anyone with markings similar" he walked around her once, taking in all her markings. "I'm sure you get stares too with markings like those. Plus those magnificent wings" he said as he walked close enough to almost touch one. "Just like my antlers I guess" he said with a shrug. "Perhaps everyone is a little different physically" he added with a shrug. "With all the foals already coming along I'm sure spring won't be far behind!" he trailed off, he had always wanted a little foal of his own but knew that it probably wouldn't happen soon as he did not want to settle down.

Isa ruffled her wings with his nearness. "Yes, I suppose I get stares as well, but I don't pay too much attention to them." She looked at his antlers, and how they seemed to complete him, she supposed thats how her wings were, too bad they weren't really strong enough to hold her weight. "At least your antlers have a use, my wings...are kinda just for show." She stated as she took her turn to walk a circle around him, studying all of his markings. "Foals are so precious. I have always wanted one of my own..." Her sentence dragged on, unsure of how to continue the conversation.

Hawkeye's eyes lit up, maybe she felt the same way about foals as he did and perhaps she was as against settling down as he was. The stallion decided to approach the subject with caution so as not to upset the mare. "Yes foals are very precious. They seem to complete and Azrein, if they're settled down or not" he said. He nervously twitched his tail and allowed the mare to finish her circle around him. He hoped that she found him attractive and would consider having foals with him, however one does not simply walk up to a mare and ask her to bare your children.

"One shouldn't have to settle down to have foals. I think traveling from a young age could be a good life lesson for little foals." Isabelle understood what he was hinting at and agreed. She did want a family, but she just wasn't ready to settle down somewhere and not be able to roam free. So she tried to hint to him that she felt the same way. "The only thing that wouldn't be good would be that the foals would question about their respective mother or father. But I suppose that could be fixed by arranging little get togethers. Wouldn't you think?" She asked him. She wouldn't want her baby growing up not knowing his or her father or siblings. Sorry its crappy. I replied from my phone. >.<

Hawkeye's head bobbed in agreement, this mare wasn't like some of the others she was much like him in the matter that she enjoyed roaming and couldn't stand being tied down. "Yes I totally agree. The scheduled meetings would work great, that way the foals could spend time not only with the other parent but with each other too" The stallion let a smile slip, she was very beautiful and he was sure she would produce amazing foals. This could be the mare he had been waiting for. He decided to be bold, perhaps cut to the chase as he felt she agreed with him. "Would you do me the honour of entering into such a pact with me? We could meet up often so that the foals knew each other and the opposite parent" his voice was shaky, he was nervous.

Seeing the stallion's nervousness at his bold request, Isabelle took that time to make one more circle around him, as if evaluating him. "As long as our children grew up knowing the other parent I would gladly enter into said pact with you. I find it hard to settle down and stay in one place. And I must admit, you are very handsome and attractive and although this may seem as a match of convenience, our children must not know that, do you know what I mean?" She asked, nervousness now seeping into her own voice. Isa had always wanted a mate and felt that she shouldn't do this but deep down in her heart she wanted a companion, a child would fill that role for her.

"Well yes of course, there is always the possibility that perhaps we will grow on each other too. Since we will always be meeting and spending time together. You will always be precious to me as the mother of our foals." he said with a nod of his head. He knew that most mares would demand that they settle down, he could not currently promise to settle down. He wandered, he could not help it. He went where the wind took him, perhaps she would wander with him? "But I agree that the children should not know. They wouldn't know the difference from a mated couple's children for quite some time anyways" he said with a slight nod of his head.
