The dungeon retained the odd aesthetics they had seen in the rooms and halls below, the staircase leading to them also had the gilded gleam of precious metals and stones etched into it. When the shimmering door finally came into view and they halted at it with their elven captors giving elegant commands into what looked like a metal bell Drachfire started to come to, groggily mumbling only to be struck forcefully in the back of the neck. A blow which rendered his body from the point downwards numb and useless.

“Separate them, The human we will put with the rat and the dragon is to be placed in the box.” The Elf closest to Mare ordered ; causing the group to split as Drachfire was hauled further up the stairs. His grin was unnerving and chill inducing as he looked his prisoner over like a child does to an insect wondering if it want’s to pull the insects wings off first or some of its legs. Luckily the door they were standing in front of slid back into the wall and Mare was shoved roughly through the opening with all of his limbs intact.

“Hey Rat I brought you a playmate, try not to use him up all at once.” The Elf said as the door slid back into place and locked firmly behind Mare who turned to see his captor’s face still grinning through the small window in the door’s center. The room itself was spacious for a cell with narrow slits running down three of the walls, a padded floor and practically no lighting except for the slivers of sunlight filtering through the wall slits. Given that his guard had addressed something or some one else upon shoving him in the darkness seemed almost a cover for what was possibly either another prisoner or perhaps an interrogator. Mare was prepared for both.

“You could have brought me someone Prettier to look at.” A voice chided from a distant corner, its tone distinctly feminine as it griped to the now empty passageway outside, the elf escort having already left. The rustling of fabric was the only other indication he wasn’t alone.

The darkness of the cell did not affect Mare's vision, however; the whispers resonating from the belted book gave his mind enough of a sense within. He glared at the female that occupied the space before him, a blank expression plastered on his face.

Before he said anything, however, he noticed something odd-- he was still in possession of his sword and book. Were the elves this brain dead? He knew he could have easily busted himself out... but then decided not to. That might be what they want from him.

He turned back to the woman with a frown, raising a brow.

"...Are you a drow?" he asked raspily. The image of the drow being sentenced to his death flashed through his mind, causing him to wonder why this one was captured rather than executed.

"You might want to sit first," Was all she initially said, her own weapons still strapped to her sides and back along with an assortment of scrolls laying in her lap over which she had been reading before the interruption of a new arrival. As if on cue the tower which housed their cell slowly tipped to the side, tilting to a near forty five degree angle before slowly moving back to its upright position and then onward to tilt the opposite way. It was a gentle sway at first, almost like the rocking of a ship on calm ocean waves but having been in this cell for a week or so already Sicadah knew better, that calm sway would be a pendulum's lurching swing in little less than an hour. She hoped he wouldn't get violently sick, least he make a mess of her scrolls.

"Do I look like a drow to you?" She finally added with a skeptical tone, noting his odd appearance. it had been a long time since she had seen any humans in kolmalas. As if to make her point about not being a drow she picked up a scroll that had rolled away from her when the room began to tilt with her snaking tail and nestled it back among the others.

"I'd ask what you're in for but given the attitude I'm going to assume you pissed off Lorien. Which only makes me wonder why you still have your head rather than what you did to earn a stay in the dungeons." she commented casually, letting her position and posture keep her pressed firmly in the corner as the room began to speed up its swaying to and fro.

He was about to retort when the tower made its motions, causing him to forcibly land onto the floor. When the movement finally ceased, Mare sat uncomfortably for several silent minutes before doing anything else; when he came to, he stood once more and glared at the seats occupying the cell. The coldness in his eyes deepened, deciding against it.

"...I'll stand," he said. He glanced back at the female. "You spoke his name... meaning he gave it to you as well?" This confused him slightly, as it seemed the Tari wanted information before giving any; there was something about his name though that made the elf want to give it freely. He shook this off for now and returned to the current situation.

"Suit yourself," She shrugged keeping her multi-tattooed face pointed downwards as she traced something on the page with her finger. "You are either not from around here or stupid. First you ask if I'm a drow and then you ask such a silly question. No he didn't give it to me, I didn't get the pleasure of meeting him face to face this time around, and last time he wasn't particularly talkative. " she laid aside one piece of parchment in favor of a new one before continuing. "If you feel like vomiting please try to make it to one of the windows before doing so, I'll be rather cross with you if you get any on me."

"Given your attire, and question I've concluded you aren't from around here and thus must ask you several questions all within..." she turned to a near by slit and pressed her eye to it so she could check the sun's position. "The next hour or so. Feel free to not answer of course."

The all too familiar twitch forced its way into his expression, giving him the recurring frown that created his usual face. As the tower continued to move, he braced himself and leaned his hand against the wall to ensure he would not fall over again.

"...No," he started. "I am not from here. However, I have no reason to waste my time with you." He then turned around to glare at where he was leaning his hand. "...Do guards pass by here?"

"Waste? Suppose I deserve that for calling you ugly earlier... Anyway, I'm going to ask whether you answer or not. But keep in mind I have no reason to answer your question either. First is your companion actually a dragon or did they do that whole obnoxious nickname thing again? second how comfortable are you with dealing with the drow?" She began rolling all of her scrolls up and tucking them away into a large bag she had slung over her shoulder.

"If you're asking if they patrol the stairway up here? No they don't need to, it's got an alarm system on it as does most of the well everything really. I do hope you're not foolish enough to think of busting out of here. We're rather high up for that and besides the walls are reflective; as in any damage you do to them you just inadvertently send back to yourself." She explained, her tone never leaving that casual air, as if they were discussing weather patterns and not their prison cell.

Mare didn't turn to her while she spoke. He was much too focused on the wall in front of him, though hearing how the walls reflected any damage done to them caused him to close his eyes. The only consequence would be the pace hastening... something he knew was a last resort. His eyes closed. He did not know when the next time he would be free, nor how long it would take to find the Phylactery. He did not have the time; he needed to find Lorien and confront him about it. It was all he could do.

Slowly, the dark energies from the book slithered up his spine once more and made their way across his arm. His teeth gritted as his hand started to move; forcing its way into the wall. The metal around the area darkened and slipped away into nothingness; as if it was decaying.

As the decay occurred, however, there was a physical change in him as well; he grew paler, his veins started to show, his hair began to lose a small bit of its coloring, and most noticeably were the markings beneath his eyes-- they were elongating as quickly as he was pushing into the wall. However, the process seemed to put him into a great pain, as he began to twitch violently with each passing second. Finally it became too much for him, and he was thrown to the floor, where he lay, dazed. The spot on the wall remained as he said nothing, merely breathing heavily in his downed ********..." he whispered before coughing many times.

Sicadah gave him a tilted expression with one eyebrow piqued. "Didn't I just tell you it was pointless to do that?" She chided before fishing around in her pocket for a piece of polished metal. She held it to the window slit and tilted it back and forth, bouncing sunlight off of its surface in timed intervals. The swinging of the room made finding the right spot difficult but practice made perfect. With that done she gave him another look.

"You know you look kind of pathetic laying like that. What did you do to the wall anyway? Can't say I've seen magic like that before, though it looked kind of sickening I must say. It certainly did a number on you as well. hmm."

He didn't say anything at first. His eyes were closed, and he relaxed while letting the tower move as it did. The damage to the wall wasn't enough to fully break through without losing himself entirely, making the tactic useless. Romuda then came into his mind, but he remembered that he was no longer occupying the blade... why had that happened? He pondered about the time they were in the Underworld and Belle Cendre had, he believed, caused Romuda to simply fade away...

But now was not the time to think about the subject. When his eyes opened, they were silver, and retained the color for a longer time than usual. During this transition, his hair slowly regained its color, and pigmentation returned to his skin. The only thing unchanged were the markings running down his face. When he seemed to metamorphose back to what he considered normal, his eyes returned to the regular amber. He then shakily stood, placing his hand against the wall once more to regain balance.

"...Do you always talk this much?" he said in between raspy breaths. His voice seemed more harrowed than usual. His eyelids lowered, remembering she gave him other questions. To which he answered, "I have nothing to say to anything you ask... I just need to get out of here. That's all. Help me or hinder me, it is your choice."

"No I'm generally more talkative but your personality is so damn prickly." She was surprised that he had managed to stand, having seen others blown apart from interfering with the walls. "You haven't given me a single reason to help you stand let alone help you escape from here, But I'm a generous sort." She stood using the wall behind her as leverage. "You answer my first question about your friend and I'll tell you how to get out of here." She was checking all of her equipment one last time while she answered.

Mare simply raised a brow as his breathing calmed somewhat.

"...You expect me to be anything else?" he asked. "I was captured and thrown into a prison. Forgive me if I sound slightly bitter." He then averted his eyes. "...As for your concern about Drachfire... what makes you think I am able to trust you enough to say anything?"

He crossed his arms and glared at her, waiting for her to answer.

"If I thought that was the actually reason behind your obnoxiousness you mean? I'm not buying it though, your demeanor isn't like that just because you're stuck in here with me." She shook her head; a ray of sunlight falling over her horns as they moved back and forth. "Drachfire hmm? That's enough of an answer so I don't really need you to trust me I guess." once more she held the polished metal to the window, this time longer than before.

"Anyway, you're blocking the way so if you would be so kind as to come sit over here please while I remap our route? I'd be most appreciative." she pointed with her tail to the corner across from her.
PostPosted: Wed Feb 22, 2012 12:19 pm

Mare tilted his head slightly and lowered his eyelids. Seeing the horns dissuaded him from believing she was an elf, or a drow for this matter, but it didn't help as to why she wanted to know if Drachfire was a dragon. He then raised a brow again.

"...Remap our route?" he asked, though without moving from where he stood. "Explain."

she gestured this time to the corner with her thumb as he seemed to have missed her instructions the first time around. Typical that the elves would bring her what was likely their most obnoxious prisoner to deal with, it was like they knew she didn't have time for 'surprises.'

"Come sit down over here and I will explain." She emphasized once more as her patience with him began to slip.
