Bailey had been wanderign again... she could find her way home as a rule.... Though that was provided she hadn't strayed too far.... Today she had wandered too far, the usual landmarks she could remember. So once again she as somewhat lost and getting more lost as she tried to find something familiar. She had always had a hopeless sense of direction, getting lost is how she had met her mate after all... well getting lost and daydreaming. Best thing to happen with either in her opinion. Smiling dispite not knowing where she was she stood looking round, having a few paths to choose from, trying to remember which she had come here on and making sure if there was anything she recognised around... Naturally she had no luck with either and so picked a path at random, her mind wandering as she walked, she wasn't dumb but she enjoyed her imagination and found that reality couldn't hold her interest when she was alone and so she daydreamed as she walked.... Which was why she got lost... A lot.

Shalar glowered at his familar. She was on form today and bugging the crap out of him. "Give it a break Petal!" He barked at her, hopefully she would get the picture for he rarely took it out on her when he was upset, but she knew exactly what buttons he didn't want pressed! He wasn't sure what had put him in this foal mood, by all standards he should be happy! After all he had found a nicer side to his inner darkness, especially since it had come to life in the form of beautiful Az! But he couldn't seem to shift the feeling that something was wrong and it rattle his cage even worst than normal. He was so distracted by his thoughts that he never noticed the mare wandering his way, at least not until his ears picked up the sound of her hoofs on the ground and his instincts flared to life. Turning to the source he was about to tell whoever it was to GET LOST when he noticed that it was a mare... even in a mood he knew he shouldn't be so harsh. Silence was better than being cruel.

She had been lost in her own thoughts but she rarely walked into thigns so she came back to reality and herself asshe stopped close to a very unusual looking stallion. Blinking at him in surprise for a moment before looking around with a hopeful expectant expression. Sighing when once again she seemed even more lost that she had been before. Looking back to the stallion who somehow didn't seem overly happy with her, though she had no idea why. Peering at him a moment, debating the prudence in asking him anything, but going with asking as she had no idea where to go from here. "Ummm... excise me... do you happen to know if theres a rock that looks like a fish around here? Its grey with sparkly lines." Looking round again, clearly rather lost.

Shalar actually nearly gasped, if he hadn't caught it at the last minute minute and turned with a frown in place upon his lips. So it turned out that his thought of 'get lost' was more accurate than he suspected, but she was actually already lost. Suddenly he felt torn, he had always considered himself to be a protector... and while he may be angry at everything he couldn't simply leave a 'damsil in distress'. With a defeated sigh he turned to face her again, "I have not seen such a thing...." That was helpful right?

"Oh..." Her smile fading, looking around again with a sigh, looking back at least knowing here she had come from. Turning again as she tried to work things out, the tree she could use was missing its leaves so that didn't look like anything familiar, same with a bush. Giving a small huff she gave the stallion a smile. "Thanks anyway." She promptly turned round and started back the way she had come, or thought she did, there was a fork in the path not far ahead and she was heading for the wrong fork.

Shalar watched her curiously, she really did seem to be lost, checking features of the land in a desperate hope to figure out where she was. And as he watched her, despite everything, he knew he couldn't simply leave her. "Come on Petal, get on and shut up." He said to Petal before setting off after her. Petal quickly did as she was told and climbed up Shalar's tail as he started to walk away. Once Shalar reached the mare again he called, "Miss... em... Miss....?" He didn't want to get in the way, especially not after being rather rude earlier, but he couldn't risk her wandering into a kalona nest or a skinwalker hole or something. "If you desrcibe to me where you are from maybe I can help?"

She looked round, surprised to see the strange male coming after her. Looking at him and nodding, having a think about her home and trying to discribe it. "Well its not far from a meadow, theres a small stream, theres some trees and lots of plants.... Theres no caves or anything...." Her mate didn't like going into caves or anything liek that having had an accident in a cave that had nearly killed him and destroyed his wings. But there was not much to go on as she really lived in a very generic place, they liked to be near the medow where al lthe plants were because shrinking and fluttering around the flowers was one of Laures's favourite things to do.

Really? That was all she could tell him? Well dang, that was going to be hard to locate. He thought about it for a moment... he knew of two large meadows near-ish by and hoped that she hadn't wandered too far from her home. If she was 'his' he would never let her wander alone if this was the result, what if he lost her? He thought of Az for a moment, she was a trickster and far too independant at times for Shalar's liking. Oh well. "Em... what kinds of flowers are common?" He found himself asking instead, he knew that one was filled with bluebells and snow drops while the other was more yellow flowers of every variation. Perhaps it would narrow things down at least.

She frowned thinking again, the flowers could be all colours, it was a lovely meadow, with soch a sweet fragrence. "The flowers change colour, depends on when it is, at the moment theres nothing really there just a few closed buds... Usually I can see the tree... theres a tree near it that looks like a raindrop, and theres a bush that looks like a mouse... but they don't have leaves at the moment so I can't find them." She frowned some more, she hated getting lost like this, she hated asking others for help. She had just gone for a walk and ended up not able to find anythign familiar.

Shalar stared at her, was she serious? A bush shaped like a mouse, and a tree like a raindrop? What kind of directions and signs were they? Especially since they didn't even work in the winter! He stared at her for a moment in disbelief, and had Shalar not have bitten his rump he probably would have continued to. "Ouch!" He turned his head to look at Petal, "What the hell was that for you little rat?" Petal looked up at him and shrugged, "You were being rude." She wasn't the least afraid of Shalar and his big scary attitude. He rolled his eyes, growled but turned away from her. She really did bug him sometimes, it was a wonder he didnt squish her 'by accident'. "Ok... none of that sounds familar to me. What about nearby water? Can you see any mountain peeks? Smell a particular scent?" Anything that may actually help him help her....

Bailey closed her eyes as she thinks over what he was asking. Letting her memory wander, she was good at things like that. "Ruebarb... apples... the mountains are not too close but we can see thme over the trees... the stream is in the forest beside the meadow.... holly.... pine.... Soft dirt...." Rambling as things she remembered about the place drifted through her mind.

Rhubard? He knew of only one place nearby that such a thing grew. He could still remember seeing it for the first time, a field filled with long reddy-pink things with large leaves. Now that he had an idea of where she wanted to be he turned in a circle to get his bearings. Ok... she was definatly going in the wrong direction. Looking up he saw the sun shining above the path she wanted to take, and unless it took her all day to walk he could offer that as a source to aid her. Hopefully she wouldn't still be lost while the sun set and disappeared leaving her lost, alone and in the dark. "I believe you want to go that way. You see the Sun? Well if you try and keep that in front of you at all times you shouldn't go too wrong." Normally he would have 'escorted' her home, but today he didn't feel able to... not wanting to wander too far from Az and where she was sleeping.

Eyes opeing, looking round, blinking as she glanced at the sun, nodding as her vision clears and she sees the path. "Ok walk towards the sun... Thank you." She smiles at him and makes sure the sun is in front of her before starting to walk. Pausing and looking at him. "Sorry for bothering you, thanks again." Wandering along getting on the right path, keeping an eye on the sun as she disappeares into the trees*

Shalar raised an eyebrow, but nodded to her either way. He wasn't usually one for lots of words, except when they were needed -like today- but he did appreciate the thanks. Turning back towards where he had been he started to make his way back to Az. For some reason he just had to see her.
