Keren was light. Acubens wasn't sure if it was acutally her or the strength her powers had given her. She didn't bother questioning it as she ran, however, desparate to get both of them somewhere safe. Each crack, every thump in the night that followed her, Acubens jumped at. Had Lesath changed her mind? Was she being followed? Would Keren be ripped form her again?
Acubens' heart tore at the thought of it. She was already torturing herself over letting Keren be taken the first time. She was such an idiot, she should know better.
Acubens skidding into an empty lot, finally certain that they had not been followed. Breathing heavily Acubens set Keren down on the turf, moist from the condensation of the night.
"Keren... hey Keren..." Acubens gently stroked the girl's cheek, trying to coax her awake. "Keren. Keren you... you gotta wake up now, alright?" Her voice cracked a little, straining to keep her tears away. "Keren you can't... oh god Keren, I love you, please don't leave now. Not when I finally know. Not know that I finally understand." Acubens searched the girl's face for signs of registration. Nothing.
"Oh god, Keren, come back."
And like in all of the story books in all of the world through all of time, All Acubens could do was lean forward and do as countless princes had done before her. As her princess lay prostrate, she bestowed a gentle kiss upon her lips. Feather light, unlike anything Acubens or Micah had ever done before. She wasn't even sure she'd touched Keren's lips at all, were it not for the electric shock wave that echoed through ehr body, leaving her lips tingling pleasently.

You didn't dream when you had your energy drained, or, at least, Keren didn't. It was a sensation like being put under, like when she'd had her tonsils out - except, instead of drifting off and waking up in a hospital bed, she leapt directly from sheer terror to awakening in Acubens's arms, eyes wild with terror. The tall girl flailed weakly in the senshi's arms, incognizant for a moment. The world snapped into focus. Keren had no way of knowing how long she'd been gone, but right at this moment the Lesath's claims of Acubens's betrayal were fresh in her mind. She flinched away from the senshi, still terrified. "Please, please," she stammered. Keren had had a healthy fear of death knocked into her, and going from the hands of one dark warrior into the arms of one called traitor was doing nothing for her confidence. If she were thinking logically, she'd have been torn. But Keren wasn't thinking logically - she was gripped by sheer terror, having woken up in the arms of the same person she'd been told sold her into darkness. All she could think of was to get as far away from here as possible, or, barring that and being far too weak, to protect herself- It was that notion that must have called the pitcher forth, spilling in silver droplets to take form in her hands. Light engulfed the girl, fantastic destiny trying to protect her where human strength could not. The glow fading, Megiddo Page of Saturn looked warily towards the senshi before her. "Please," she stammered, feeling no less exhausted for having transformed. "Please tell me it was all a lie, that you're not - not turning dark."

Acubens could have laughed. She could have cried. Hell, she could have done a lot of things, like jump up, recite a Chaucer poem, and swing Keren around in her arms the second she leapt up. Maybe it was that confusing cocktail of impulses that kept her there, rooted on her hands and knees to the ground. As she knelt, arms still cradling the after image of Keren, she stared up at her, golden eyes wide.
Please…
“What? Keren, please what? Whatever it is, I’ll do it! Please what?”
And then there was light. All around light, like the night had suddenly become day. Acubens ducked her head to shield herself from the light. What was happening? And here Acubens was alone and scared and Keren was doing something that she didn’t understand.
When the light died down, another girl stood in Keren’s place. Acubens’ heart twisted in rage. What had she done with Keren? She bore her teeth, growling as she leapt to her feet, fingers crooked into claws. Where was Keren? Acubens would not lose her again.
That voice…
“Keren…?” Acubens’ rage died down, leaving her confused again. “Going d…” Acubens trailed off, trying to figure out what she meant. Going dark.
“Oh god.” She closed the distance, pulling Keren into a tight embrace. “Oh god, no. And leave you? Never. Not the woman I love.”

This was all terribly bizarre, reflected Megiddo Page as she breathed in the scent of the senshi's braided hair. She'd trusted Acubens, certainly, as she would have trusted anyone Micah sent to protect her. Even if recent events had thrown her into turmoil, the warrior's presence here and now reaffirmed that she had not been foolish in that trust.
But for Acubens to love her? Megiddo didn't think she'd done anything to the senshi to warrant that kind of adoration. Clearly, there was something about this situation she was missing. But she was too tired to do any more of the panic-and-freak-out shtick. In fact, it was all she could do to keep from dropping her pretty silver pitcher to the ground.
She tiredly relaxed into the senshi's embrace, head drooping to rest on the other girl's shoulder. "Micah'll be jealous," she murmured sleepily. Now there was someone who loved her, and with certainly more basis than Acubens. But then, Acubens had just saved Keren's life...
Megiddo was far too tired to put all of these convoluted interpersonal puzzle pieces together. "Are you..." she said tiredly, "Should I know who you are?"
This was all so confusing. She barely knew who she herself was, right at this moment. Keren's Della-Blue? Or, no, there was something else. Her eyes slipped shut as she tried to figure it out. "Megiddo," she said after a pause. "M'name's Megiddo Page. 'F Saturn."
Yes, that sounded about right .

"Micah will get over herself," Acubens chuckled, gladly accepting the limp body against her own.
"Megiddo," Acubens repeated affectionatley, smoothing out the page's long violet hair. "I'll explain everything to you later, Megiddo." Everything. Who she was, why she was so closed to Micah. Everything. If Acubens was going to know this senstitive information, the it seemed only fair to her that the woman she loved would have the same leverage.
Acubens stooped against Megiddo, crooking her arms around the other girl's knees, lifting her up with ease that should not have existed. Keren was, in fact, larger than she. And yet... it was like carrying a child.
"Let's get you home," Acubens cooed, opting to walk at a normal pace instead of using her speed, for fear of upsetting Megiddo further.

Megiddo's head bobbed against the senshi's chest and she curled her long legs up upon themselves with spider-like grace. Her arms encircled the other girl's neck securely. The page dared not question why Acuben's could lift her so easily, lest the spell be broken by logic. She was too tired and weak to walk home and would take what she could get.
"Thank you," she muttered sleepily, as her chin slumped against her ruffles. After her ordeal, all she wanted to do was to fall into a deep, dreamless sleep. Surely that wasn't too much to ask - Lesath had drained her energy, and then powering up had exhausted her further. She'd need help getting tucked into bed for sure.
Lulled by the bobbing of the senshi's footsteps, Megiddo's eyes slipped shut and her breathing became slow and even. Despite the evening's events, she felt deliciously safe against Acubens' body heat, and that was enough to plunge her into sweet, restful darkness.
