Hel had been, for a lack of better words, terribly worked up this past week, and not in a good way. Well…it was good at first, and then it turned incredibly sour. Scarentines. The day had started off wonderful enough…turned dare she say, absolutely wonderful, when she thought she was going to be married, but then…then it was taken back. Okay, so it seemed like they had been under some sort of weird spell as well…one that amplified the emotion of love…but…but still.
Luckily (or maybe unluckily) things were getting back to normal now…and Hel…well…she was angry, upset, sad, maybe even a tad confused, but the point was she was upset. The ghoul did not tread lightly upon the roof to the reaper dorms, maneuvering her way across it to a spot she often liked to sit on, as if gave her a nice view of the stars. The valkyrie then flopped down upon it, scowling. Since she was uh…not treading lightly…pity to the soul who might have been underneath that section of roof at the time…

Shun had been out and about that night, mostly for a stroll. As he walked to return to his room, he heard a sort of tapping from above. Furrowing his brow, he stared up towards the roof of the reaper dorms. It almost sounded like someone was hammering up there. But who could seriously be doing construction at this time of night? Frowning, he looked at the wall, trying to see where he could grip onto things.
Taking in a deep breath, he ran at the wall before working to scale the building. After climbing up a part of the way, he went ahead and shadowstepped upwards, managing to grab onto the edge of the roof.
With a sort of grunt, he pulled himself up, where he found Hel flopping down in one spot. That was a little unexpected.
"... Are you always this noisy when walking about? It sounded like someone was hammering the roof from the ground."

Hel startled, turning her head until she was able to catch sight of Shun in the moonlight, and upside down.
Just as how he wasn’t expecting her, she wasn’t expecting him either. A brow rose. “Well.” Hel started, her tone lame. “You know me, Shun. I can not do anything quietly.” Stomping around the roof being upset really wouldn’t be any exception…she’d just be a bit more careful next time…possibly. She wasn’t looking to piss off Shun (this time).

It seemed like he had startled her. But then again, his own movements were a lot quieter than her own up here. Raising an eyebrow, he thought she had a point in what she said though. Hel wasn't exactly... a quiet individual. No, she was quite the opposite.
"What exactly are you doing stomping around on the roof anyway? Aside from maybe waking up whoever is directly below you," Shun asked.
The valkyrie didn't look particularly pleased. Either this was some way to get back at someone (odd way to go about it in his opinion) or she was just fuming. Perhaps it was a little bit of both.

Hel snorted softly, folding her hands underneath her head as she turned her gaze back to the sky where the moon was shining brightly.
“…The intention was not to stomp around…I like coming up here to…” The valkyrie paused. Did saying she liked coming up here to think sound…corny? Weak? Lame? Did Shun care? Hel was silent for a long moment as her brows furrowed. She needed to answer Shun, but instead of doing so, something else shot out of her mouth instead. “You love Mitsu, right? Do you want to spend the rest of your existence with her?”

There was no visible reaction Shun had to Hel's statement of coming up to the roof. This was because he really didn't care. People had their own little spots for whatever. However, he did raise an eyebrow as she didn't finish that statement and decided to avert his question by throwing another at her. The question itself seemed to have come out of the blue.
"Yes," he said simply before looking over the Valkyrie, "Did Mot do something?"
He had a hard time coming up with a reason why she would toss out such a question if this somehow did not involve the other Grim.

Once again, Hel would ignore Shun’s question to toss another one at him.
The valkyrie latched onto how timely and without hesitation the Grim Reaper answer her question, and in one moment Hel was on her back, and the next, she was flopped onto her stomach, staring at Shun wide eyed. “Then you should marry her, right!?” It was asked as if the answer should be obvious.

Shun just stared at Hel for a good few moments. Now where the hell did that come from. His pause before his answer wasn't due to hesitance or anything like that. He just didn't know what was going on in her mind to jump around at things like this, especially for marriage.
"Perhaps in the future, but right now? Why should I?" he said rather plainly.

Hel scowled, tugging at her braids. “The future, the future!” She echoed. Crazy boils!
“Because who knows if we shall be around in the future, ya!? What with those false reapers and all! If you love her, and you know you want to spend the rest of your existence with her, than why wait!?” The reaper paused now, and looked at Shun a bit desperately. She was putting waaaaaay too much into this topic, truly.
Poor Mot. Poor Shun.

Shun stared at her some more. She was getting incredibly worked up over this, though his own expression didn't change at all. Well. He didn't look very amused but he usually didn't anyway.
"And why rush? Yes, the hunters could very well end any of us on any given day, but a damn ring is not going to change anything. The damn ring in general does not mean much of anything."

Hel scowled again.
“It is not about the ring! Anyone can get a ring!” Like stupid Freya and stupid Herryk. “It is about all of Halloween knowing that you belong with that being! It is the comfort and knowledge that you belong with and to that belong for the rest of your existence! There are bonds and very honest words exchanged, and commitments made…” Hel looked back at Shun again anxiously, waiting.

"Ever heard of arranged marriages?" Shun asked flatly while narrowing his eyes, "In case you don't, let me fill you in. The purpose of these marriages vary but very seldom is love a part of the equation."
Letting out a sigh, he glanced around, before shaking his head. Her reasoning was a little ridiculous.

Hel’s expression went flat.
She stared at Shun for a long time.
THUNK.
That was the sound of Hel’s head hitting the roof of the reaper dorms. The ghoul let out a loud, exasperated sigh. “Shun?” Her tone was mournful, and muffled now. “Why am I the only one who cares? My sister was brought up to be instilled with the same values as me, but all she does it mock it…and no one here cares either!”

Shun rubbed his forehead for a moment, then ran his hand through his hair.
"And why do you put so much stock into this? We might not be sniveling little scarelings but when it comes down to it, we're still jacking kids. We're still in school. Marriage may be a nice thought but we have far greater concerns right now than things like that."
He shook his head again before staring down at Hel.
"I love Mitsu. And she knows I love her, just as I know that she loves me. This is all that matters."

“Because it is the valkyrie way!” Hel replied, luckily pulling her head up from the roof to stare back at Shun. “My grandmother was wed at a young age, as was my mother…my grandmother was younger than I, and my mother was not much older!” Hel let out a deep sigh. She fell silent though, as the grim reaper proclaimed his love for the Lycan and vice versa, and she just stared up at him.
That statement in itself was pretty powerful, definitely. Shun didn’t carelessly toss his words around. That was all that mattered, huh? Hel rolled onto her back once more, her arms flopped out to her sides as she sighed, her brows furrowing.
That was all that mattered…
