-X- Frederick Hummel -X-
Name: Frederick Hummel Age: 49 Home town: Veilstone City, Sinnoh
Frederick Hummel is a master criminal who has recently begun specialising in stealing official gym badges. Recognised by the police as Hummel the Hoarder, he has several different identities which he uses to stay anonymous as he moves around the world. For a long time he set himself up with a house outside of route twenty-two, which leads to the gate to the Victory Road. There he preyed on trainers on their way to the Indigo Plateau, playing a kindly old man who invited them into his home for a rest. Once he got the trainers into his trap he would drug them and replace all of their official gym badges with fake ones he'd made himself. When he saw Jetta Moon on route twenty-two he went about his usual business of inviting her to his home to take her badges. When he found that she didn't have any badges he grew frustrated. If an Officer Jenny hadn't been there keeping an eye on him who knows what he might have done. On the other hand however, the officer's presence forced Hummel to move on from Viridian, and he seems to have taken to perusing Jetta around Kanto, maybe blaming her for ruining his lucrative plans in Viridian, or maybe for other reasons entirely...
Hummel's Pokémon:
Tepig, Mankey, Drowzee, Paras, Blitzle, Lucario.

-X- Frederick Hummel -X- Hummel watched his drowzee come back to him down the path. It looked injured. That would be its excuse. Hummel snarled, "Pathetic." "Drowzee..." his pokémon said, eyes closed and head bowed forwards. "Did you at least scare her?" Hummel asked, every word full of scorn. Drowzee nodded. Which was something, Hummel supposed. He returned the pokémon to its ball, then dropped the ball into one of his deep pockets. In its place he recovered a dusk ball, which he tossed into the air. "Perhaps a change of tack is required. Lucario, where is she?" His most treasured pokémon appeared before Hummel, facing away from him. He knelt down and put his paw flat on the ground. With that his whole body glowed a strange blue and the tassels of fur which dangled from the back of his head lifted up and quivered. "The girl has caught a local shroomish. It is leading her out of the forest, toward Pewter," Lucario explained. His voice sounded only in Hummel's head, his mouth closed and tongue still. "Your drowzee successfully poisoned her chimchar. She will likely be taken in by the eldest Falleen girl." Hummel squinted in thought. "Perhaps I should make an appointment with the doctor. I'm sure I'm long overdue one."

-X- Frederick Hummel -X- Hummel stepped outside and sniffed the air. Smelled like progress. At long last. He touched a pokéball in his pocket as he asked, "Lucario, where is Jetta Moon now." There was a slight delay before the response came, sounding directly into Hummel's head. "She has met a boy. A liar. She has a new pokémon. A dark-minded pokémon. She is heading to battle a kind, honest man. A gym leader. Brock. She is in Pewter City." "Pewter..." Hummel muttered to himself. It had been a long time since he'd been there. Chances were nobody would remember his face. Anyone who did would be met by Drowzee's attacks. "We have plenty of time. Lucario, where is Petra Freiberg? Where is Reginald Finch? Where's Solomon?" "Petra Freiberg is in the pokémon centre. Sleeping. Reginald Finch and Solomon are in Viridian Forest. They are working together. Solomon will betray Reginald in short order. We will catch up to them in no time." "We will," Hummel said, taking a second pokéball from his pocket. "But not before we visit Petra again. Drowzee, come out." The pokémon appeared from the ball and knelt in front of Hummel, head bowed. "Yes, master?" he spoké, psychically. "To the pokémon centre. Find Petra. Eat her dreams. I'll be along shortly..."
