THIS IS A PRIVATE ROLEPLAY BETWEEN
Arthur Kensington (Pendragon) and Violet Amoroso (Mimic).

where :: The Academy Library
when :: mid-morning, a free period between classes
PostPosted: Mon Feb 20, 2012 9:36 pm

Of all the places that Arthur could have hidden out in, the library was probably his most familiar haunt. Bookshelves seemed like a second home to him; he was as comfortable here as he was in his own room, and he tended to treat the library with more of an air of familiarity than other places at the Academy. That wasn't to say that he didn't still hold it in respect or treat it well, but more that, once he had made his rounds of it on coming to the island and pronounced it suitable in his standards, it was rare not to see him wandering through the books, or acquainting himself with a new section or topic.

Most of his time spent there was devoted to reading and study. Arthur had always been very insistent about his reading and his education, and when the schools that his parents had sent him to proven to be "insufficient" (as he deemed them), Arthur made up for lost time on his own by reading books. Now that his power was tied up in words, he found himself in the library more and more, practicing his handwriting in a black marbled composition notebook.

Stretching, Arthur leaned back in his chair. He was just about half-way through this notebook's pages, which made him feel good. Filling pages up with perfect script was a measurable accomplishment, something that he could track as a way of noting progress. And thus far, he was looking pretty good.

He allowed himself a smug grin before putting his fountain pen back to paper and gently scribing out the delicate curls and curves of another set of words.

Free period? Strange Violet was still trying to catch on to this new school, customs and well the new language, which happened to be the hardest. Trailing down the hall she peeked into the large room that was called the library, having been told she might be able to find some sort of picture book that could help her along with her words. Pausing in the doorway she looked about the area curiously, her long green locks swaying with a slow motion almost as if dancing to a soundless tune.

Not to sure where to start she simple headed further into the library, glancing over each face she ran into before pausing on a boy at a table. Her beady black orbs narrowed in on the item he held watching it as it pressed to the other unknown object on the table. What was he doing? Why was he doing it? It must be something enjoyable considering how happy the boy looked. Violet couldn't help but catch a smile almost as if it were contagious just by looking at his grin.

Without much more thought Violet had found herself moving towards the curiously grinning boy, lazily strolling over to the side of the table he sat at. Once getting there the thistle colored alien tried to remember how to properly greet the human and ended up just smiling sweetly at him before speaking, "Hello...what are you doing ? " She couldn't hide the curious tone in her soft voice, her black orbs sailed from the boys face to admire his purple shirt then down to the unknown object looking over the strange markings on it. Not sure what to do with her hands considering she had seen a number of things that the humans did with them so far from, hugs to shakes, she simple placed them in front of her pushing down a small wrinkle on her blue and pink Nova uniform.

Arthur jerked, startled out of his reverie by the voice. When he looked up, he saw that the person who had spoken to him was one of the alien students that he'd heard about who were also studying at the Academy. The library had been a kind of private place for him, somewhere that he treated as almost as sacrosanct as his own room, and to see another person there, even though he knew that they were allowed in, was still a little strange for him. He had to admit that he was also pretty curious about the girl-- he'd thought that aliens existed in imagination, and so meeting one and getting to speak to one in the flesh...well, even the hipster had to admit that that was pretty ironically cool.

He realized that she'd asked a question and the looked down at his composition notebook and the perfect curls of letters laying out on the page. She wanted to know what he was doing...? Well, that could only be embarrassing. At least when other kids got to train to use their powers they looked cool. Arthur just...looked like he was doing his homework.

"Practicing." He replied curtly, trying to salvage a bit of his coolness. So what if he had to write in a notebook to keep his skills sharp? No one else did that. He was unique. Arthur shrugged, trying to keep as nonchalant as possible. "It's just like the exercises you do, too, except that this is more suited to my power." If he were speaking with a fellow earthling, he probably would have added something snarky on like "it's kinda obscure" to prevent them from teasing him about it, but since he recognized the girl as an alien (and, to be fair, she hadn't started to make fun of him yet) he decided to leave it at that.

Only getting here a few days prior to this very meeting the letters on the notebook were strange symbols in her opinion so when the boy mentioned powers, she had to wonder what exactly he could do with them? Maybe he was like...like a snred (wizard) and those symbols were spells!? "...Snred?" She ask forgetting he might not understand her. Violet's beady eyes widened slightly, curiosity growing for the other by the moment much like it had with Avalbane."Practicing.." Violet mocked back, lazily helping herself by depositing her bottom into the seat near the other student.

A slow smile spread her lips apart as she peeked to the symbols again then the boy, not minding his shifting tone, considering he didn't sound upset and wasn't yelling and well she didn't really get human things so his breath was wasted on the alien unless he stepped up his game a little using more body language. Later on down the line however when the English classes she was put into caught up well then she might be a little less friendly in response. Though thanks to Nagataur and her ability to learn rather fast, Violet knew enough to hold a ..somewhat decent conversation.

Violet bypassed the others nonchalant attitude and placed a thistle finger to her lips, trying to come up with an understandable sentence for the boy, her mind remembering the word her roommate used for her name, and so she decided that was the best for the moment after all it meant she liked things right? Which she did, or well liked how these symbols looked at least, Violet inhaled and then exhaled softly. Her eyes smiling as she spoke, "I think it's..pretty..that power." Hm, that sounded slightly awkward but it did work right? It was the truth and maybe if he didn't understand her fully he could catch the sincerity of her words. Tilting her head cutely at his words, Violet managed to piece together slightly what he meant by practice exercises, getting that he needed to do this to help improve, like the way she had to practice extending her ghost arms a little more each day?

For a moment she just stared at the boy admiring his glasses and the shape of his face before it hit her, and she chuckled. A hand moved down to caress a long green lock of hair, as she realized she hadn't done that introduction thing yet. "I..am, ..my names Violet." That sounded about right to her, she let go of the lock of hair, said lock swayed back to rest around her face though the motion was more of that of a living appendage than just normal hair.

Smiling again Violet couldn't help but think about her own power, it wasn't pretty like the boys in fact it gave her nightmares, nope not pretty at all, a frown was forming the more she thought about it.

Arthur blinked at the strange word. It had sounded like "shred" but with a weird pronunciation in there. He certainly didn't shred anything. was she asking for permission, then? She didn't look like it, at least not the way that she had her finger pressed against her lips, looking contemplative. "I'd rather that you didn't shred it, actually." Not like she couldn't get another one, but the book had some sentimental value for him. It was very old school, and Arthur sometimes so very new school while writing with it that the combination was pleasingly...ironic.

But then again, she'd called his power pretty. Arthur cocked an eyebrow. Maybe that was what they did in alien planets, shredded pretty things to show their appreciation. Was he not being sensitive enough or something? he was kind of out of his depth here. He didn't want to offend her without knowing if she'd tried to offend him first-- this was all getting very complicated. Did pretty even mean the same thing to aliens as it did to humans? Or did it means something like "weak" or "uncool?" Arthur had no idea.

So, he went with his gut. And considering that this had been the same gut that had told him that getting out of his parents' house through any means possible was a good idea, even if it mean going to superhero school, it was anyone's guess how this would turn out. But, she was sitting next to him and looked like she was going to stay, so he might as well get on with it. If this was going to tank, at lest he could get back to writing soon.

"I'm Arthur." He replied automatically. Now that he noticed it...Violet's skin did look a nice shade of periwinkle. "And thanks, I think your power's pretty too."

There. If pretty meant something bad, then Arthur was covered. If not, then well, whatever. So he'd told a girl that she had nice hands. He had done worse.

Shred? Violet looked confused at Arthur, blinking softly. Her incomprehension clear to anyone that looked close enough. Stretching her legs out under the TABLE she mulled over the words that he had said again. "I'd rather that you didn't shred it, actually." The normally translucent ghost arms behind her starting to flicker into sight as she grew a tad nervous and fiddle with her hands in her lap, the arms mimicking her hands below, looking as if they were rubbing together deviously or trying to warm up.

Violet wondered if he heard her wrong, maybe that's why he didn't answer her 'right'? It took a few moments before another thought found its way up. He didn't understand her either? "Snerd....actually? " Actually, she liked the sound of that last thing, actually. Maybe it would help her get the point across better? Violet thought of a way to show him what she meant and ended up lifting her hands and making a gesture like pulling a rango out of a willlop. (rabbit out of a hat.) To show him what she meant, like magic. "...Snerd? Shred?..." This time she was sure to put emphasis on her own word before trying out the one the boy had said. What if this shred meant what snerd did? Earth was fairly confusing so she wouldn't put it past that being the catch.

Chuckling lazily, she looked to Arthur's symbols again as the boy introduced himself and told her she to had a pretty power. Her frown stayed in place for a few more moments before she allowed it to fade. He liked her hands? But ...her power was not pretty at all. "Not, pretty...actually? " She responded with a silly face, like perhaps she was attempting to pass her own power being pretty off as a joke.

Violet blushed, in turn turning a light green color around her cheeks where a normal dust of pink would be. The color faded as fast as it arrived however since her attention caught on something else. A rather sudden realization hit her and she turned to look at the bookshelf. Symbols. There were symbols everywhere! Violet's beady eyes widened, if this was Arthur's power..was he, did he make all those in practice ? Did they do more than just look nice?

She tried to ask if Arthur was responsible for all these symbols. Pointing to one of the labeled shelves she tried, "Arthur's power? ..." The alien probably seemed like a small child for the moment trying to connect the dots, but as she looked over all of these things the quicker she was catching on. Violet struggled to recall a few more words coming up with one that the white haired man had asked her previously, " what's..do? Arthur..." Again that didn't sound complete, her nose wrinkled in minor frustration before she leaned back into her chair, already over it. Knowing eventually this wouldn't be so...new..

Arthur blinked in surprise as he saw the girl's ghost arms flicker into sight and then begin moving. Geez, even after living at the Academy for a little while, he wasn't sure if he was ever going to get used to this. But he'd been fascinated with ghosts as a child, obviously before they'd gone mainstream and started appearing in the young adult fiction and paranormal romance sections of bookstores.

Arthur realized that they were probably having difficulty communicating when Violet made strange motions with her hands while the ghost hands mimicking them in the background, seeming to take the lid off a pot or open a box. He frowned, confused. Did she think he was a chef? Maybe that was where all this strangeness was coming from.

But then he listened to her repeat the words side-by-side. "...Snerd? Shred? ..." They did sound different. Hmm. Maybe he could think of a way to show her what he meant. Trying to communicate in two different languages wasn't as easy as he thought it would be for someone as culturally sophisticated as he was.

So, when she asked about his power, Arthur had an idea. He traced his index finger across the air in front of him, spelling out p-a-p-e-r and then grabbing his hand through it to hold onto a single sheet. Then he looked over at Violet to make sure that she was paying attention and said holding the paper out for her to see, "This is paper." After that, he took the paper again and ripped it cleanly down the middle. "Shred. That's what shredding is." He thought about it. "It's okay to shred stuff if you get permission, but my notebook's not available."

He felt he'd resolved most of this satisfactorily until she asked about being pretty or not.

Arthur kicked his legs under the table. How was he supposed to respond to that...? Back home he didn't have to deal with these kinds of problems.

But still, back home he would never have gotten to meet an alien, so he made himself be patient.

He figured that maybe if this communication idea worked once, it could work again. The paper that he'd manifested had already vanished-- items that he conjured tended not to remain around too long once he let go of them-- so Arthur raised his hand again and wrote out f-l-o-w-e-r and swept his hand through it.

It was a white rose, which was kinda embarrassing considering that that was a very well-known flower in an almost equally well-known color. It was all getting a little too mainstream for his tastes, but he went with it. In the hands of a skilled hipster, even current trends could become obscure. He bit his lip, wondering why he hadn't written a-m-a-r-y-l-l-i-s instead, but it was too late now. Arthur pointed at the flower.

"This is a flower. It's pretty, too." Then he looked back at the arms coming out of the girl's back again. Okay, maybe it wasn't the conventional form of pretty, but Arthur wasn't exactly the conventional kind of guy. The more he thought about it, ghosts were very underground. He gestured from the flower to Violet and her ghost hands. "Like you. Your power's very pretty." He nodded and then added: "Actually." for good measure.

Judging by the look on the other's face Violet reasoned they both were greatly confused. It was hard..very had to get use to Earth and even harder when she didn't fully understand the language and customs. But she would learned it was only a matter of time, Violet reassured herself mentally as she leaned back into her chair. Slouching she watched Arthur curiously now that he seemed to be doing something peculiar. Why was he moving his hand like that in the air, for a moment Violet almost mimicked him.

When Arthur swept his hand through the air after his strange motions and what appeared to be the object he was making the symbols on appeared, Violet's mouth formed a lazy 'o ' shape in amazement. Paper. Violet's brow wrinkled as she connected the dots, a slender slow hesitant finger pointed to the conjured paper then to the notebook pages, "paper..." She repeated sounding all but amazed before frowning as he ripped the paper in half. Before she could question however he was explaining or attempting to. Shred...paper..hm.

The gears seemed to be turning in her head and she laughed softly, sweetly before shaking her head at him. "Shred...not Snerd then..actually?" Came a still slightly chuckled reply as she motioned to the ripped paper with her head, her hand moving to point directly at Arthur, already convinced he was a Snerd (wizard.) since he could create objects out of thin air. The conversation was soon dropped as it turned to talk of pretty. Violet was convinced her power was anything but, considering this worlds definition of pretty.

Looking away from the other she gently stroked a swaying green lock of hair, yawning softly before turning back and going once more wide-eyed as Arthur started to move his finger again. Watching like a thoroughly amused child she waited for something else to appear. Violet was all but captivated when the rose appeared reaching out for it but keeping her eyes on Arthur to make sure it was ok. Could she touch that it looked an awful lot like a, "jobi?..." She asked curiously before pursing her lips in thought at his words.

"This is a flower. It's pretty, too." At the gesture to her arms and the flower that was very pretty indeed the little alien flushed again, her cheek tinting the green color from before and holding it as she adverted her eyes shyly then brought them back to Arthur a moment later. "Like you. Your power's very pretty." Flattered or so she thought she should be, Violet chuckled and nodded not protesting this time and smiling a little wider at the actually. "Actually.. " Violet mocked closing hers eyes in a joyful manner.

For the moment more than pleased that she had approached the other, it was fun for her to learn things, new things, exciting things. Though there was something that had the little aliens curiosity peaked, it was itching at her to find out even through the content mood. She could always ask later though it was almost time for that..one thing the...what was it..bell? But..

Violet bit the inside of her cheek wondering just how good of a snerd Arthur was, could he turn the Earth flower into a jobi? They looked very close or at least to her, they had petals and were white..and pretty. Surely they had time and it wouldn't take much effort if Arthur didn't freak out..when she tried it.

Violet tapped her chin for a moment before smiling at Arthur and asking, "Arthur...Vi-" No that's not right, she furrowed her brow pausing before trying again, " I want to show you power ...? " She wanted to show him her power and by that she was going to see about taking control of his arms. Just to see if she could show his hands how to make a jobi. Violet shifted in her chair, her hands extending lazily out towards Arthur and in turn her ghost arms flickering into sight and reaching for him as well.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 03, 2012 10:59 am

It was then that Arthur finally realized that he may have been mistaken. Now he heard two different words from Violet, "shred" and "snred." Much as he hated to admit that he didn't know something, he was intrigued "What's 'snred' mean?" He hated to think that he might be missing something our of his own ignorance.

Arthur shrugged as Violet reached out for the flower, but then the plant quickly disappeared. The boy frowned a little at the space where it had been, then sighed, frustrated more at himself than anything. "Nothing lasts too long when I summon it this way." He looked around for the paper that he'd manifested, but that too was gone. He looked at Violet, who seemed to have no difficulty manifesting her ghost arms for prolonged periods of time. It made him a little jealous. "Some things I make last longer than others, but a lot are really only good for a couple of seconds, or long enough for me to use them before they disappear."

It was kind of embarrassing, actually. Arthur's ears pricked up when he heard Violet say "actually" again, mimicking his thoughts.

Arthur cocked his head, eyes warily flicking towards the ghost arms behind Violet. "You want to show me your power, too?" Well, he supposed that that was fair. Ghost hands were pretty underground, after all. Maybe she'd show him how easy it was for her to grab books from the top shelves.

When he nodded his assent with a nonchalant "Yeah, go for it." he had no idea what would be coming next.

"What's 'snred' mean?" The boy sounded intrigued, which thrilled Violet whom was very proud of her own world and way. Smiling she tried to explain as best she could, motioning to Arthur to make sure he knew that she was talking about him. "Arthur is Snred...Arthur makes pretty flowers..and paper..." Were those the word she needed? Violet didn't know many words but maybe those were enough for Arthur to get that because he could conjure things he was a snred?

Violet was more than a little disappointed when the flower disappeared but listening to him she kind of understood. Perhaps this is why he was practicing to be able to keep things solid longer? Noting his frown, Violet couldn't help but sweetly chuckle out some lazy encouragement, "practice...Arthur to last longer.." It might not have been the most well put together encouragement but the sentiment was there in her tone and beady black eyes. He just needed to keep practicing like her with her ghost arms.

She hadn't really meant her words in the way to gain permission and was already moving out her ghost arms towards the boy when he gave her the go ahead. Smiling widely the grey, floating extra appendages pushed through Arthur's body with a cooling chill, much like ice water in ones veins. Violet winced slightly as she attempted to gain control of Arthur's arms, the wince was for the small shock she received once contact was made. For a moment she was still pushing back the small bit of Arthur's memory that hit her once her ghost arms took his over.

"....Arthur..j-o-b-i.." She cooed lazily at the other, moving her hands up to spell out the alien word in alien letters, Arthur's arms that had been taken over by her, were mimicking as Violets hands as she to spelled the word out.

Smiling up to him after the word was spelled out she swiped her hand over the word she had spelled and in turn Arthur's hand did the same to the word he had just slept. Violet watched carefully wondering if this would really work like it had when he had done it alone. It would truly amaze her if the human snerd was able to conjure an alien flower.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 19, 2012 6:11 pm

Arthur pondered this new development. So a snred was someone who made things, like he did? He thought on it and then nodded. Perhaps there were people in Violet's world who made things for people as well. Or perhaps flowersellers, at least, he sullenly reminded himself.

"Alright, I'm a snred." He nodded. Well, it wasn't like anyone else except Violet would know if he got it wrong. Actually, now that he thought about it, it did sound pretty hip.

Arthur grimaced when Violet mentioned that the flower hadn't lasted very long, but he tried to play it off as gracefully as he could. "They last much longer than they did at the beginning!" His face flushed with embarrassment. "I mean, I've been practicing so that they don't vanish so fast." He frowned, unable to shake the redness in his face. Oh honestly, it wasn't like he deserved to be embarrassed. He was at a school to learn after all, and even though he liked to think that he was better than everyone else at everything, it still didn't mean that he'd reached his full potential yet.

Right. That thought bought him back some of his confidence.

When Violet took control of his arms, Arthur felt a little weird as his arms spelled out the alien word without his conscious effort. He knew that he should be concentrating on what shapes that Violet was making with his hands for future reference, but instead he found his mind captured by a brief flash of memory.

It was when he'd first discovered the secret of the red book that his parents had given him, that in turn had given Arthur his powers to manifest objects from thin air. In his mind's eye, he saw himself opening the book, its heavy covers parting under his fingertips, and the words lifting off the pages as he began to read them, swirling around him, and then vanishing into his body from all angles. He felt again the same elation he'd had back then, a feeling that he could do anything with these words, that he could make anything happen that he wanted to. He wouldn't have to live in his parents' house or go to their parties anymore, he could live his own life.

When Violet swept his hand through the word, Arthur came back to himself, watching with awe as a strange flower appeared out of nowhere, light curling and cascading around it like a strange starburst.

"So this is a jobi, huh?" He raised an impressed eyebrow at it, his open slightly open in disbelief. "You have got to teach me how to write like that."

Violet was more than pleased when Arthur agree with her that he was in fact a snerd. She knew it. Knew it, they were just having a communications error but problem was solved...or at least in her book it was. After her believed to be encouragement, she had to do a lazy double take on the boys face.

Wow..

Violet's eyes widened a bit in curiosity, not really hearing his words more intrigued by the fact that, he could turn red. Or at least for the fact that his skin seemed to be able to tint a nice shade of it around his cheeks. She didn't quite understand that Arthur was embarrassed since everyone on her planet tinted a green color when embarrassed. However when he said, he had practiced so that they didn't vanish so fast; Violet gave him a rather impressed smile for his efforts."Hee..good." Arthur seemed like someone who was likely focused enough to spend hours doing something. Unlike her, she wasn't one that to put in a lot of effort into practice since there was always later.

Right? Right.

Shaking the question of work ethic away happily she nodded to Arthur, advancing and taking control of his arms. Once in control she felt that sickening feeling that came along with it, then for a moment her mind blanked before filling with a snippet of Arthur's memory. For the brief moment she saw Arthur opening a book, then those strange Earth symbols flying from it and swirling around the boy before entering his body. It was...strange. But not the strangest thing she had seen after taking over someones arms for this she was glad.

It took but a split second to regain herself before she spelled out the alien word with the captured hands and but a moment after that for the beautifully jobi to appear. Violet gave a soft gasp, her gaze turning into that of a longing yet adoring one as she looked on at a vision of home. She hadn't been here long but, she was a teen, one that well was leaving home for the first time anyways to go to school and now stranded on an alien planet for who knows how long. It was nice to see something familiar...

"So this is a jobi, huh?"

Arthur's question brought Violet out of her reminiscent state with a sweet low chuckle. "Jobi, yes." Was the answer she gave, nodding with a tilt of her head at what he said next. She didn't really understand what the boy had said but it sounded nice so she smiled a little wider. Violet tried to buy herself sometime with the smile, rolling over his words in her head and pausing on 'teach.' That's her teacher had told her the humans here would do for her, which is why she was to be put into classes. Maybe he was meaning for her to teach him Naiddalian, the thought made her very excited. For one she was a proud Naiddalian even if their ways were a little strict, for two well it was so nice to see the jobi if Arthur could make more things well then she wouldn't feel so lonely.

"Um...Violet teach Arthur, Naiddalian?" She tried then realized something very important which was she had yet to let his arms go. Chuckling a tad embarrassed she slowly took a step back withdrawing her ghost arms and giving the boy back control. Blushing a soft green color the thistle colored girl lazily strolled back to her seat. Silent for a second before her black orb caught on his notebook and an idea spouted. Her hand extended slowly to tap the cover of the notebook. "Actually...Arthur teach Violet?" That sounded right, yes. Violet looked upon the boy with an enthusiastic or as close to enthusiastic expression she could muster, hoping for a trade.

Nodding, Arthur watched the flower for a little while longer as it radiated light on the table before disappearing, like the other objects had before it. A strong believer of "knowledge is power," he was already starting to think about the capacity that he would have for creating stuff if he knew an alien language. After all, creativity could get you a lot of places, but how much more would he be able to create, what new dimensions of creative thought would be opened to him in learning about another culture, let alone another world's system of writing? He was daunted and excited at the same time by the prospect and was already looking forward to what their first lesson might be.

Not that he would let that all show right off the bat-- he was too cool to give into expressing all of his emotions at once-- but it was difficult to put a lid on all of it.

"Yeah, I'd like to learn." He nodded, looking at the spot where the jobi had been. "I'd like to be able to make more stuff like that, and uh," he bit his lip, not sure how to say this, but hoping that he wouldn't give Violet a weird idea. "the way you wrote was really cool. The letters, I mean."

Of course, he was interested in the way she wrote, but a part of him was also...intrigued by how it had felt to have someone move his arms, take control. Arthur, a control freak by nature, had expected to feel powerless, but it hadn't been so bad. He coughed a little to hide the long pause between his response and then realized that he'd been asked a question.

"What, you want to learn cursive?" He cocked an eyebrow, then saw his mistake. "I can teach you how to write like this, but it'll take a little while. First you'll have to learn how to print the letters and then I can teach you this. It might take a while, but if you want to..."

He frowned. He was no good at offering things, too used to being on his own or leaving others to do their own things. Still, he knew that this might sound a little rough, so he added: "I'd consider it a fair exchange."

Unlike Arthur, Violet wasn't one to hold back her emotions then again she wasn't one that got overly expressive either. Or well expressive in the terms of squealing or jumping up and down due to being excited, no Violet was a chill individual her excited well it was just as relaxed. Smiling widely to the boy she nodded at his words, tinting a green around the cheeks though she wasn't exactly sure why she felt a little embarrassed by his words.

Learn. Violet to thirsted for knowledge and while their reasons were a little different or so it would appear, they still had it in common which made the alien smile a little wider. She lazily nodded her head when he commented on wanting to make more things and though she barely understood she had the idea of his words, that being he wanted to learn about her culture which made her instantly happy; she liked being able to share that being as proud as she was of where she came.

"the way you wrote was really cool. The letters, I mean."

Tilting her head cutely she mocked back the boys words or more of less did, putting her own twist on them and hoping that she was communicating properly, "...Arthur wrote letters really cool?" Though it was meant as a return of praise it came out sounding more like a question. Cool. Letters. So his symbols where letters then, letters obviously wasn't the alien word for the equivalent but she was starting to understand now; even if she still didn't quite understand what cool meant it sounded like it was meant the way pretty was as in...it was a good word. Which Violet was more than willing to bestow upon Arthur considering she really did think his powers and he, himself was cool or at least for now in her cluelessness, she did...

"What, you want to learn cursive?" "I can teach you how to write like this, but it'll take a little while. First you'll have to learn how to print the letters and then I can teach you this. It might take a while, but if you want to..." Violet listened to him carefully now when he seemed to be answering her challenge of a trade, biting her lip as she noticed the raise of a brow to her. Was he perhaps not considering? His body language read unsure to her and that made her a bit uneasy. But when he said he would consider it a fair exchange Violet let out the breath she hadn't remembered holding. Reaching a hand out on a giggle she attempted a gentle, hesitant though friendly pet to Arthur's hand. "Yes." While it was a simple one word reply, it held in it and her tone her enthusiasm for getting started and though Violet didn't understand all of what he said; if she would have she would have been glad that learning how to write letters would take time...

Pulling her hand back she tucked both hands into her lap and gave a giddy body shrug, beady eyes shutting for a moment before flickering back open at the sound of the bell. Frowning softly towards Arthur she gave a lazy hum, knowing the bell meant she had to go to class now but not really wanting to leave just yet. "Arthur. Violet is C8" She announced while standing up to leave, giving him the number of her dorm room so they could get together later. "Actually. Arthur...Vi-.. I? Can't wait practice with you?" It was likely the longest sentence she had said to him their entire meeting, but one that was the most genuine as she really couldn't wait to get started learning about letters with him and showing him more about her home.
