Unknown to her, a rogue lioness was in the area, and hearing her singing, approached in curiousity, stopping just downwind of where the other female was laying. There Kailayna sat for a short time, wondering if she should avoid this other lion. She could be a pridelander who did not take kindly to strangers, or she could also be a rogue lioness. Either one could mean trouble, especially if she had crossed over into a prideland and wasn't aware she had... or if the lioness had cubs nearby.

So for awhile she sat idly by, considering whether to leave or whether to say hello, finally her desire for at least temporary companionship won out, and she stood up to walk closer to let herself be known, though by that time the sun had already set and it was full dark. Being as dark as the night herself with her only shock of color her eyes, she appeared as not much more than a shadow and bright blue eyes in the dark, saying nothing.

Kai stared past the disturbed fireflies at the lioness she had approached, ready to run if need be, though she didn't get the impression she would need to execute an escape. The lioness hadn't even bothered to get up yet, and she had said hello instead of growling, so she supposed she was probably harmless enough.

"No..." she admited readily enough, feeling there was no point to hide the truth. "I'm a rogue, but I don't mean you any harm. I didn't realize I had crossed into the territory of a pride... I was just traveling across these lands on my way east. It's a lovely night, isn't it?" She sat and regarded the fireflies with her ears amiably arched forward, looking up at the sky. "And the sunset was lovely too. I heard you singing, so decided to come over and have a look. I haven't seen other lions in awhile, and have been feeling a little lonely, I guess, so felt it was worth the risk to come over and say hello if you didn't seem dangerous. I'm Kai, by the way, it's nice to meet you." She smiled a faint smile, an expression that seemed as if she hadn't needed to use it for awhile.

"Yes, I'm a rogue.." Kai figured maybe the other lioness hadn't heard her say it before because perhaps she had been too worried she might need to flee with her sudden apperance, so didn't think much of her missing what she had said. "Nice to meet you Nisha, and thank you... it will be nice be around another lion for at least a little while, I haven't seen anyone in so long."

Kai seemed to hesitate before answering her question about family. A family was something she longed for, but hadn't had the opportunity for as of yet. However, she figured it couldn't hurt to talk about the matter with the pridelander, after all, what did it matter? It might ease her own heart a little to discuss it.

"I've traveled much, yes, across desserts, along a coastline, but mostly through grasslands and savanna. I like the jungles. I don't have any family at all, but I would like to some day... I don't feel like there is anywhere I belong, out of all the places I've seen. Maybe I'll one day join a pride and find a mate. Do you enjoy your life? Were you ever a rogue or were you born into your pride?" Kai had no knowledge of a pridal life, and so was always both curious and wary of pridal cats.

"...Have you been lucky enough to find love in your pride?" she hesitantly asked, not wanting to step on any paws. However she was distracted from her questioning as there was suddenly a heavenly shower of sparkles above them in the night sky, putting on a rather brilliant display far above their heads.

"Oh... it's so beautiful... " Kai stared up at the dark navy blue and black sky as the meteors went shooting across it, awed at the display that nature was putting on for them. "I've never seen anything like it before... have you? It looks amazing... I wonder what they are?"

I wonder if I will ever fall in love one day....? Kai wondered to herself silently, eyes on the falling stars, contemplating them on the comfortable night. "Spirits dancing in the heavens... I like the sound of that. I wonder if that is where our souls go when we die. If we become stars..." Her voice trailed off thoughtfully, tail swishing very slowly behind her in contemplation.

The black lioness smilied at the nearly equally dark pridelander, the both of them not much more than shadows in the growing night. She was tired as well, because instead of resting, she had been traveling during the day trying to cover alot of ground and had both run and walked many miles. She echoed Nisha's yawn and stood. "It has been for me as well. I should go. The hunters of your pride might be out and about soon and I don't want to cause any trouble. I should leave your lands and find somewhere to rest for the night, I've been traveling all day. It was nice to meet you Nisha, thank you for sharing this time with me, I'm happy to have had a little companionship."

Kai nodded to the other lioness and began to walk away, leaving the pridelander to her lands and continuing the search for her own place in the world.
