I'm terrified to ask on DoA... What's the best Doll-safe stain remover? Judas's wig left a stain, and I want to get it off as soon as possible. I tried soap and water, but that didn't do squat. Help?

Non-acetone nail prolish remover (some people say acetone, but you shouldn't need it that strong), don't let it sit for too long, put it on, scrub it off. Also if you have a Mr Clean Sponge, that + non-acetone will take just about anything off. After that, wash it with soap and water to get the extra chemicals off of it. That should do it ^_^
Err if there's some coating.. It'll take that off too, so watch out around faceups ._.;;

It's on the forehead, where a wigcap will sit... and I'm totally not sure if Judas is sealed or not... Argh. I wonder if there's any way to re-seal just the top of his head.

Hrm, the problem is that when the coating starts coming off, it can get sticky.. and the edge of where it's coming off often gets discoloured.. I dunno what you should do in that case crying If you can get it to come off without looking or being icky, then you can just re-seal the whole head after you're done. The problem is getting the stain off without making the coating gross >_<

Thackery's black jeans are leaving stain marks on his knees. I have acetone nail polish remover (purple colored,) so do you know if it will create purple stains? neutral Either way, I'm running out of nail polish remover so I need to get more the next time I go shopping. So which type/brand/etc would you guys suggest?

Just use rubbing alcohol on his limbs. :3 Never on his face, but on his legs and stuff, that's fine.
@Astro: Yeah, just cover up what you don't want to be matte, and spray it with Mr. SC. Easy peasy.

I use rubbing alcohol,91%, for everything. Acetone is BAAAAAAD juju for the resin. You'll cause some big problems if you use it on him, Hayami-chi.

Another good cleaning solution is Winston & something or other's acrylic remover (used to clean dry acrylic from brushes etc). You can pick it up easy and reasonably cheap from most art supply stores.
I will say this: I use it to remove face-ups. It WILL take the face-up off, any sealants or gunk that may be on your doll, and makes them feel neat. (You have to wash with mild dish soap and water to get that feeling to go away.)
But it's awesome stuff.

Dye stains are hard, as are most pigments. I've used sensitive skin Clearasil pads to remove the old ball-point pen stains out of vinyl (Works like magic, it was as if it were never there and was reccomended by the American Girl Doll Hospital) and to clean Erebos's shoulder for his tattoo. It's been over a week since I cleaned it and there have been no ill effects on the resin.

I reccommend to anyone to use Krud Kutter. It's non-abrassive and won't harm the resin. it'll get out almost any stain.
I work at a paint store and deal with stain and paint related stuff all the time, and trust me...Krud Kutter works WONDERS.

You guys are probably gonna laugh at me for this but... would Vodka work in place of rubbing alcohol? Not that I'm being cheap or anything, but I do have Vodka rather than rubbing alcohol or non-acetone nail polish remover. We have a mini-bar in the basement.
... Hey, it's alcohol right? sweatdrop

Yes, and after you get done cleaning him, you can have a good, stiff shot. XD I wouldn't, there's other stuff in Vodka. Besides, it's made from potatoes!
Besides, you can get a bottle of rubbing alchohol from Walgreens for like, 98c.

Update on the Clearasil pads: they've taken a black sharpie mark out of my resin test head almost completely. After some rubbing it ended up looking like a very faint bruise. With a little bit of sanding it was gone. No ill effects after use either, thumbs up to Clearasil pads!
