Sailor Draconis was patrolling. Seriously nothing had happened today. No youma, no negaverse. It was boring. She'd checked her neighborhood a few times; it was her habit to do so, to make sure her parents were safe. Her neighbors, like Sam. She found the more she patrolled, the more she saw, the more she worried about them.
Tonight was empty though. No threatening presences anywhere.
At the moment she was running around a parking lot, not really caring about where she was going. Her feline companion, Pippin, was "out" meaning he was probably stealing something from someone. Figures.
Jesus she wished something would happen. That's not like a pointed cue or anything. Nope.

Nunki had snuck out of her house not long ago, feeling like she was way behind on everything. She'd meant to leave an hour, maybe more, ago, but there had been homework to do and dinner to cook, and all sorts of other excuses she couldn't help but admits were kind of lame. But, anything sounded lame when you were supposed to be out protecting the city.
Her fingers brushed her bare legs as she headed toward her usual areas to patrol. Though she was starting to get used to everything in this new life, it still felt strange to be this... well... super hero character. Had she had any say in her transformation, she would have at least given herself a longer skirt. Or sleeves. Sleeves would be nice.
As she dashed through a parking lot, a short cut she'd discovered when she was chasing a youma once, she was brought up short by another figure running her way. It looked like another senshi. She hoped it was another senshi... Oh man, please be another senshi. She skidded to a hault as they got closer and prepared for anything, but relaxed a little as she made out what was definitely a senshi. With a very complicated fuku.
".... auuh.... Hi," she called.

.... auuh.... Hi
Sailor Draconis turned around to see another girl in the typical frilly skirt and white fuku. Oh good, someone to patrol with! Rather, something for her to do; something instead of just running around being bored. "Hi," she said, rather chipper, "I'm Sailor Draconis, and you?"
Before she could heard the response, a set of caws caught her attention. Just crows, oh well.
Wait a second.
There weren't crows in this parking lot a second ago ...
Without warning, three head-sized crows came vaulting towards the twosome. Draconis dodged left without a second thought, though she couldn't say the same for Nunki; mostly because she couldn't see Nunki. The girl got lost in a storm of greenish feathers. These were no ordinary crows. They had huge bodies and long sharp beaks. Feathers were flying everywhere, with small bubbles on them. These were youma.
"Draconis Breath of ... of ..." she began, stuttering back a few steps. Well this wasn't good. "s**t I can't get a shot in," she muttered under her breath. Turning to where she thought the other senshi was, she shouted, "You okay?!"

Sailor Draconis. That rang a bell somewhere in her little astronomy center of her mind, and she recognized it as a star in Draco, but not much more than that. Obviously studying a little more astronomy had been a good thing though, because at least she wasn't derping over the name. She opened her mouth to return her own name, but was cut off by the sharp cawing.
Before she had time to prepare herself she was disoriented by the swirling storm of feathers and she let out a startled cry. However, she wasn't going to leave herself open. She'd learned better than that. She pulled her arms up infront of her and blew a few feathers away from her mouth, and then swept her foot out to try to clear the youma away. It worked, to an extent, because she could now make out Draconis. "Yeah, I'm good! Did you say you can't get a shot in?" ... That wasn't good.

One of the crows scratched along Draconis' long sleeve, creating a tear that went down the seams. Well s**t. At least that regenerated when she powered down, but she couldn't exactly do that now. What a pain.
The other girl's voice caught her attention. "Yeah!" she shouted through the storm, blocking a bird that was coming for her arm again, "They're too fast! I can't see where they are..." She hated admitting she wasn't strong enough, but now wasn't really the time for pride.
An idea popped into her mind. "I could hit them all at once!" She could use her sea of flame attack and take them all down! Oh ... but wait, "Ah but s**t it might hit you too." She couldn't risk hurting another senshi, even if it meant three youma down.
Were these crows multiplying? No there were still just three, but they were definitely growing bigger. They were nearly torso sized now. One came barreling towards her, but she gave it a well placed kick and it went flying into dust. Well that was one down ... but there were still two more. It seemed as though the cloud was finally clearing. She could see the other senshi now. "Any ideas?"

Nunki narrowly missed getting her face torn up by some wickedly sharp talons. She was pretty sure one of the cords on her bracer was snapped as she batted the youma away, but her face was safe. For now. Sweet baby jesus.
Too fast. Too fast. Nunki's brain worked overtime to figure out what she could do about that problem. She definitely didn't want to be caught up in an attack targetted at all the youma, but if Draconis couldn't see...
Oh. Duh!
"I might be able to see them! If I tell you when they're infront of you do you think you could hit them?" She'd never used her attack to really help someone elses, but she figured it would work just as well.

"I think so ... I mean ... How would you- ..." she spouted as the crows continued to circle them.
Aw ******** it. She didn't have time to think or create and strategy. "Yeah. Yeah just do it!" she shouted as she batted off another crouma. Jesus these things were annoying.
How this other senshi was going to be able to see them was beyond her. It probably had something to do with her senshi powers, Draconis could deduce that much, but what exactly that power was ... Well it could be a gambit's chance for all she knew. "Listen uh ... as soon as you tell me when ... you gotta get out of the way, okay?"
With that, Draconis began focusing her energy into her hands. She couldn't do much if the girl didn't want to move, and it would take time for her to focus. "Draconis ... Sea," she began, waiting for Nunki's cue.

Okay. She could do this. She closed her eyes and pressed her fingers to her temples. Deep breaths. "Nunki Swift Sight!" When she opened her gold eyes back up it was like the crows had slowed by a fraction. Or maybe her eyes could just move a little faster. She didn't know the mechanics, but she did know it was easier to see them moving.
It took precious moments for them to cooperate and Nuni could feel her eyes burning, but eventually all three were headed on a path that would set them in like with Draconis. With just a couple seconds heads up, Nunki shouted out, "Now!" Then she used the spead she was used to attack with to dash out of the way. She ducked into a roll and landed off to the side in a crouch.

"OF FLAME," she shouted the moment Sailor Nunki gave her the cue, not wasting a moment. She gripped at the air with both hands like she had a pair of imaginary fans. She could feel the air, that was always the weirdest part about her power. She could feel herself pulling power from Draconis to create senshi flames as she spun.
It all happened in less than a second. Flames shot from her mouth as she spun outwards and downwards, essentially burning everything within a five foot radius of her. Needless to say, both youma were dusted near instantly. Had Nunki stayed in the area, she could've been burned if her flames didn't hit the two youma first. Draconis was slowly learning that these powers were a bit more complicated than they looked.
With that said and done, Draconis wanted to strike some sort of cool pose, but found her knees giving out from underneath her. She still wasn't used to the immense power her super attack drained from her. Well s**t. She probably looked weak now.

All the air left Nunki's lungs in a rush as she was blasted by the hot air from Draconis's attack. She wasn't close enough to get burned, but it still stung and left her stunned for a long moment afterwards. There were senshi with attacks that powerful? It made her measely sight look worthless! An attack like Draconis's was devastating.
She glanced up as the girl fell to her knees and found that her eyes burned and her temple throbbed in beat with her heart, but she still managed to stumble to her feet and over to the other senshi. "Ar-" she swallowed a dry taste in her mouth and tried again, "Are you okay?"

Draconis sort of struggled to her feet and brushed herself off. She would stand proud as a captain, not weak. "I'm fine," she said solemnly, "Just a little shaky." She was fine. Absolutely fine.
She shifted her weight to the other foot and almost held out her hand, when she remembered how much pain they'd be in. The knock back from her attack always killed her. "Like I was saying before those youma attack, I'm Sailor Draconis, Senshi of Dragons," she said, adding a little flourish to the end of her words. "And you?" she asked, flicking her black curly hair back.
Everything about her said b***h please, I'm fabulous.

Nunki nodded, knowing that the girl had every right to feel shaky after that. She felt a little shaky too, but mostly she felt foggy, like her head needed a little time to clear.
She nodded when the senshi introduced herself again. Dragons. Of course she'd have a powerful attack to do with fire. It made sense. And front what she'd seen today, Draconis had every right to feel fabulous. Next to her, Nunki felt kind of lame. She wrapped her arms around his stomach as she answered. "Sailor Nunki, Senshi of Owls."

She nodded and said, "Excellent, nice to meet you." Her arms were still firmly crossed, no handshake extensions. She wasn't about to reveal her weakness to someone she just met.
"Wait, did you just say owls?" she said, a slight, mischievous smile crossing her face. Owls were an animal, right? So ... Pippin probably wanted her in the team! To be honest, with only Dorado and Acubens- and of course Pippin- her team was sort of ... well small at the moment.
She put her hands on her hips and said, "Listen, I know we just met and all, but could I maybe ... interest you in a proposition?" Wow Draconis. Way to come off as the creepiest senshi in existence.

"Yep, owls," she nodded. She fingered one of the silky feathers hanging off her bracers and got a sinking feeling in her gut. Crazy smiles like that never boded well for the recipient. She rubbed her hands up and down her arms once and glanced off in the distance, as if contemplating just running away.
"This isn't like a mob boss proposition, right?"

Draconis gave the girl a hard look, like "are you really that stupid?" but it faded nearly instantly. Best not to condescend the target audience.
She gave a light, jingling laugh and said, "No no no, nothing like that." Draconis tucked a bit of hair behind her ear, revealing her strange, looping earrings that were shaped like dragons. They glinted a little in the moonlight, shining and sparkling just like her obnoxious white teeth. She was a Just an ... offer for a team?" she said innocently. "My guardian cat- ah, Pippin, he's not here right now- are starting an animal senshi team." How did she explain this to someone? It was sort of awkward doing this by herself for once, "Nothing huge, just a way of patrolling together, organizing ourselves to fight the chaos." She paused for a moment to make sure the girl was still following her.
Her eyes flicked left, then right- a quick scan of the area, then she continued, "You're fully able to refuse. I just thought with an ability like yours- Well ... we could use someone like you." She smiled. Compliments were always the way to a girl's heart, right?
