 Slowly, they were wearing her down. Slowly. She had gone from not wanting a temple thanks to the near-end of the worlds to entertaining the idea of one - through that certainly had a lot to do with being more comfortable in her own skin than she had been before she had recovered herself in full.
But still, there was only so much of her servants' over-eagerness that she could take in one go, and so she had left for a breath of fresh air, walking along the gardens and admiring the sky. The loveliness of it wasn't wearing off, even if it was not divine Universe - anything was better than inky, final blackness...

 Rio was finally calmer today, more settled than he'd been since Adi had left. The worry, over that and other things, was still there, but not such a keen presence as it had been. It was easier to be his normal, bright self, happy about Leo's arrival and he was determined not to spoil it with darker, sadder thoughts of what may or may not happen.
Love was in the midst of giving him a tour, conversing back and forth about this and that, when he caught sight of one of his dear friends. He grinned, and spoke loud enough that she might hear, And that is Echo, the Goddess of Music.
And tested, also, if she would understand. He'd never given it thought before, having been surrounded by those who all spoke the same language, but perhaps the gods could understand any language much as they could take any shape. Now that the thought had occurred to him, it seemed silly that it never had before.

Léonce had jumped at the idea of tour when Rio offered. Now he was looking around at everything as they walked, curious and eager like he was a little child again. He took care not to wander too far from Love's side though, not wanting to get lost in a place where no one might understand him.
Music? He looked in the direction Rio indicated, gawking for a moment like an awkward school boy. Wow. Are all the Gods so pleasing to behold?

Echo's ears did twitch a bit at the sudden sound, angling themselves toward the two long before she did turn to face them.
And poor Leo had thought she'd been gorgeous from behind. Well, what Echo did lack in height, she certainly made up for it in presence. Through, she did blink - one, twice - apparently confused, head tilting to the side a bit.
"Talking about me, now are we ?" She said, amused.

All in our own ways. Mostly. The God of Plague is, ah...less so, but fascinating in his own right. Sh'khin was someone who took a certain amount of getting used to, but Rio tended to adjust well, fortunately.
Love bowed playfully to the goddess, grinning. "We were just discussing the lovely views to be found in the gardens."
"Echo, this is Léonce." He tilted his head. "Leo, Echo."

He swallowed, eyes widening a bit when she turned around. Ah Elua... It was no wonder he thought he was dead when he first came here, what with the gardens being what they were and with beings like Rio and this lady about. If he was stuck here, as it seemed he was, it would seem he would need to get used to such things. Not that he minded being stuck in such a beautiful place, and with Rio, of course.
While he couldn't grasp the words Love spoke it was obvious enough he was being introduced. He gave his best performer's bow, reaching out to take her hand lightly and kissing the back of it, smiling down at her after. Well met, my lady Echo.

Ah ! Well, that certainly wasn't that common, was it ? She was taken aback, for a moment, but did eventually smile.
Her ears did give another twitch at the strange language being used. She didn't quite understand, but it did seem to remind her of something...
"Flatterer." Both of them, really. "It is nice to meet you, Leo." Hopefully her body language would make up for the language barrier, a bit.

Rio observed Leo's greeting with a broad smile, and laughed at Echo's response, relating, She says we are flatterers, though I think she says as much of me every time we talk. He hadn't kept a tally, but it was likely close enough.
"How can we be anything else, hm? Besides, you should know by now to expect as much from me." And, by extension, it probably wasn't surprising coming from any companion of his, either.

His smile broadened some, chuckling politely. I've spent almost half my life learning and perfecting the art. Nowhere near your level of skill with it though. To Love skills like flattery, among many other things, were probably as natural as breathing, no doubt.
He listened as Rio spoke to Echo, trying to see if he could make out the words. If he could just puzzle out some of it, even a word or two, then he would have somewhere to start learning this new language. It would give him something to pass the time and would be helpful in the long run.

"Alas... Such is my life, I figure." She laughed - it sounded more like the ring of tiny little bells than anything else.
And just as Leo was trying to make out her words, she was doing the same with his own - the more she heard them talk, the more... familiar things seemed to become. How strange !
"Where is he from ?" She asked, curious. "I think he is the first mortal who hasn't been... well, intimidated by me if they first met me like this." Music was conflicted - of course she didn't like being intimidating. and she had no idea what did it. The wings ?

Such humility! he teased. I say you are are closer to me than you think. It was odd, translating back and forth, like being in three conversations at once. One shared, one with Echo, and one with Leo. It was a strange juggling act, but not unpleasant.
"He is from Terre d'Ange, where they apparently like me very much," he said, obviously pleased by this. "Although I think they would like you, too. And I think he's gotten being intimidated out of his system...I hope. He fainted when I told him who I was."
She's surprised you're not intimidated by her, and glad, I think. Rio left out that he'd told her about the fainting.

Leo flushed visibly at the compliment, glad if only for a moment Echo couldn't understand them. I'm pleased you think so. At least you weren't displeased with my service. He grinned and winked at Rio. A move that was a little bold and open even for him.
He nodded, understanding a little better after Rio had taken his reaction before. Not all gods expected to be so imposing, it seemed. She's delicate and beautiful, with a strength beneath it. Like one from Cereus House. Awe inspiring, yes, but not really intimidating. It was a high compliment, even if Echo might not understand the whole of it. He could explain it to her, if she liked, when the language barrier was less of well a barrier.

She really had no idea what the two of them were talking about, beside what Rio relayed to her, but the body language in between them... Yes, they certainly seemed close already. Not surprising, in a way.

Of course not. Love returned the grin. I would go so far as to say it was flawless.
"Yes, he recovered very nicely," he noted. Innuendo? Why yes, a little bit! he was hardly worried about offending Echo's sensibilities, and it wasn't as though she couldn't guess easily enough. She might not understand exactly what they were saying, but flirting carried well regardless of language.
When Leo explained how he viewed Echo, Rio told it to her in turn.

He stammered something incoherent at first, blushing deeper when Rio grinned back. Thank you. Reeeally glad now Echo hadn't understood them.
