It was a bit of a daze that consumed him after he was left alone in his dorm with no Lark and no Endzela around. Just him and his thoughts alone and with no one around to really fill the silence except for the movie he'd put on earlier while Lark was there. He could feel her lips against his and he could still feel where Lark had punched him in the gut. A hand reached up and rubbed at his stomach as he shifted to stand up.
He should tell Freya, right? She'd want to know.
There was also the fact that it had been forever since he'd last seen her and he promised her that he'd take her and Endzela out for a bit of flying. Maybe she had a minute! They could talk and do things and it'll be awesome.
Leaving his room he gave Lark's door a lingering glance before he wandered down the hall to Freya's door and gave it a knock as he spoke in a louder tone, "Freya. Freya. Freya. Freya. Freya get the door Freya. Freya. Freya stop being slow. Freyaaaa~."

At some point, she had dozed off while cuddling Endy on the couch. The sound of knocking and the repetition of her name made her groggily awaken, and she groaned into the feathers of her beloved fiancee, before pushing herself up off the couch.
She could tell who was at the door, and her hand automatically reached for the doorknob, but then it paused. The conversation from earlier flooded back into her memory, and she frowned for just a moment, before rubbing the sleep out of her eyes and taking a big, deep breath. Then she planted a sly smile on her face, and opened the door.
"Well, well, well."
Yeah. She knew.

Endzela righted herself and stretched after Freya had gotten up. Ugh. Her Reaper was at the door and he was being a nuisance as always and interrupting her time with Freya. Stupid boil.
When Freya opened the door he beamed at the ghoul and then he tilted his head at her greeting as well at the smile it made a blush form on his face as he felt his momentum stutter a bit as he shifted as he grinned back at her as best as he could, "Well, well, well back at ya."
...Did someone tattle? How would she know? What...
"Done being stuck to Lark's face~...?" Endzela piped up.
Seriously?
"So that's where she ran off to," Kettil laughed a little too nervously. He suddenly felt like he'd done something horrible.

"Of course she ran offs teh me. Who else is she goings teh go to but her wife teh be, when her reaper is, ah, how she puts it, stuck teh Lark's face~~?" The tease was evident in her voice, and supplemented with her reaching out and pinching Kettil's stomach playfully. "Getchyehr a** inside this room right this instant and tells me what happened, before I go overs teh Lark's room and ask her instead." The pinch turned into a grab, and she pulled Kettil into her room and shut the door behind her.
So far, so good. She was proud of herself, she was taking this well! And Kettil would never have to know there was ever an issue at all. After all, she knew from the moment he told her about Lark, that it was going to happen.
"Sit." She commanded, "And I wants every detail."
She instantly regretted saying that, but she didn't take it back.

Kettil squeaked a little at the pinch playfully swatting at her hand a little giving a small laugh and a shrug, "I guess. I wouldn't term it that way...It'd hurt Lar's feelins if she knew that is how Endy or anyone else saw it," said as he allowed himself to be pulled into the room and let her shut the door behind him. He moved over to the couch and sat down reaching over to pet Endzela on the head though she seemed a bit standoffish toward him.
"Wasn't like either of you noticed I left," she muttered moodily as she tilted her head away.
"Endy..." He sighed softly and then looked over at Freya. "It was..."
Weird? No. Not really...
"It was sudden...I was just writtin' notes tryin' to get how I felt out to her cause she been real volatile toward me and..I just wanted to know why...Somewhere along the line my notes kinda changed," Kettil shrugged a little as he continued to try and soothe his familiar. "Nothin' real risqué or anything just .. different emotions."
Here he was talking to Freya plainly as if he'd never even fancied her. Did this mean something? Nah he was probably just distracted by his distraught Familiar. Denial is at it again.

Freya scooped the owl up in her arms and held her close, because she was her owl now - at least until she forgave Kettil, which Freya knew she would. But she would be selfish with the one part of Kettil that loved her the most, because she could.
"So in yehr notes? Yeh started teh realize how yeh felt when yeh wrote her notes?" That was kind of sweet. She wanted to start writing notes now, to see if she could figure out all the feelings she couldn't understand, in them. She bent her head down and grinned at Endzela fondly. "Can I writes yeh a note later, Endy? I will tells yeh all about how I looooves yeh, and wants teh be stucks teh yehr face."
Someone wasn't taking this seriously. At all.
Freya moved in and settled against Kettil, making sure her smile, and her laughter, sounded as casual as she knew it should. "So are yeh boilfriend and ghoulfriend now? Did yeh gets teh talk about that?" A part of her suddenly wondered what he was doing here, when in Freya's mind, she would have assumed they'd spend the night together.
But Freya wasn't really the kind of ghoul to make the right decisions when it came to such things. And Lark clearly was.

Kettil dropped his hand to his lap as he just let Freya claim his Owl for the time being. There was no real talking to her in the current state she was in it seemed and instead he focused on Freya giving her a smile, "Yeah, I guess so. I don't know what happened or why but it just did...Y'know?"
Endzela cooed up at Freya, "I'd like that~."
He chuckled slightly, "Yeah I asked her to be my ghoulfriend and I'm pretty sure she said yes. I mean she kissed me after I asked and..."
...Confusion set in. Lark hadn't really said yes.
"She kissed me and ... I asked her and... Yeah and ... She never said yes but..." Suddenly his world was thrown into confusion. Is that how ghouls say yes when you ask them to be your exclusive ghoulfriend?
Maybe Lar didn't want to be his ghoulfriend and she just kissed him to shut him up and...
Doubtdoubtdoubt.

"Hooter." Freya coo'd affectionately. "Yeh asked her teh be yehr ghoul, and she kissed yeh. That is a yes, dumbass."
And that's what best friends were for.
"So did yeh puts it in her?"

He seemed to calm down for a moment, "Yeah? Is that how it works? I gotta admit I don't have much experience to ghouls sayin' yes to bein' my ghoulfriend," he muttered rubbing the back of his neck. It wasn't meant as a ploy to pity him as much as him saying he struck out until just a few moments ago and then suddenly he froze and stared at Freya.
...Put it in?
"What?! N..N--" Wait she wasn't done with her thought.
"No. No tongue no anything." He said blushing a little more, "She wants ta wait a bit first. Cause things were goin' a bit fast..."
Endy peered over at him, "I interrupted them while they were canoodling in the bed."

Kettil was certifiably clueless, and Freya grinned as she brushed her fingers down Endy's feathers in affection. "Snoodling, huh? In the bed, wow." She didn't know what to say to that. "I guess there's only one thing left teh ask, then."
She turned her head up to Kettil, and for once, it was clear by her expression she was taking this particular question very seriously.
"Are yeh happy, K-Hooter?" Something in her told her, deep down, this wasn't the right time to call him by his real name. She didn't want to cause him anymore confusion, even at the risk of confusing herself more. And maybe it hurt a little to hold back, but she knew it was worth it. Kajika always deserved to be happy.

Kettil looked over at Freya and seemed to notice something about the way she talked to him. Something seemed off but perhaps he was just being paranoid. The Muut adjusted the way he was sitting so he could rest his head against Freya's shoulder, "I think...Right now? Yeah I'm pretty happy."
He tilted his head a bit to peer at her, "You are feelin' alright, aren't ya?" It seemed her near slipup with his name had caused him to be suspicious of how she felt or any feelings she might be having at all during this.
Endzela for her part was slowly starting to be less grudging toward Kettil but she said nothing as she gave Freya a small gentle affectionate n** of her beak against some of Freya's fingers.

He was happy. Freya felt that little curl of warmth in her heart and was content to hear it. She grinned up at him, but his question made her grin falter. Her head shook quickly, but then stopped, considered the actual question while she bit her tongue in thought, and then nodded her head. He'd asked her if she was feeling all right, so the answer was yes, not no. It was just a simple misunderstanding of the question!
"Of course I am fines, Hooter! I am happy yehr happy. It's all I wants." She reached up and pinched his cheek with the hand that wasn't being nipped at, before turning away. Her expression was far more real when she looked at Endy, however. "I suppose this means yeh goings teh spends more time with me now, Endy. Yeh sees? Everybody wins."

Kettil was staring at Freya quietly more critically now. It was like he was almost grasping something. What is it with ghouls and doing this thing where they pretended to feel otherwise? All it did was confuse him in the end and...
Quietly he shifted and headbutted Freya's shoulder, "What don't want to spend time with me anymore or something?" He asked he was suddenly more serious.
Endzela let out a small happy hoot sound at Freya and then paused glancing over at Kettil.

Freya turned her head and rose one eyebrow when he butted her shoulder, but his question made the silly look on her face fade. She pouted visibly, and her brow furrowed as if she could have been mad at him, if she had the ability.
"What yeh even talkings about, Hooter." She mumbled through her pout. "Yehr my best friend. I'm always goings teh wants teh spends times with yeh. As long as yeh wants me around. Why would yeh ever thinks otherwise?"
She blinked her eyes once, twice, and they stung. This conversation was annoying her, because it made her have all the ~feelings~. She turned away and looked back down at Endzela, because it was easier and didn't make her feel the feelings that she could not hold.
She stuck her tongue out at the owl playfully.

He seemed to fall silent for a long moment gathering his thoughts, "Just...the way you said that is all, Freya. Like...Like I'd just ignore you or something now and only send Endy over like you're my birdsitter or somethin'," he said quietly as he sat up a little more and looked over at her.
No he still loved her and slowly but surely he was starting to realize the love had changed somehow though he couldn't figure out in what way but it was something they shared.
"I...I still need you, Freya, just so you know." Kettil somehow felt it seemed important that she knew this. He turned to face her his legs tucking underneath him as he wanted to look at her more fully, "I mean...Look at us we are kindred spirits. We laugh all the time when we're together and we can talk just like this. You're my Princess Goldilocks, you're my Freya."
Not in the way he intended to be his Freya but even in friendship he considered her his. Someone he cared for and would do anything for.
