example: it usually starts as some friends that play together all the time and once they all get serious about playing, they enter tournaments and pick up sponsors along the way... they start out with local sponsors like a shop or any business and have the sponsor on their jerseys, so its like advertising... they win in local tournaments and they get to the point where they have to play national

AGDLion is correct but there are some other ways you can do stuff after awhile. Some people will join teams that already constructed. These teams they may join could to be to join a higher division or just to be on another team. It is easier to join a team thats already got there stuff going and got all sponsors and all, but they will make you work for your right to stay on that team. As aposed to being on a team with a bunch of friends you may not know anyone that team and you may dislike some people, but joining a team then quitting is not a good idea just because you don't like someone.

I agree totaly with the last part. I am on a team with my friends and we are just getting started, we may even try to get a sponser and compete in local tournies to get some exposure, but what agdlion and DraXxus said is correct.

CelticYakuza so ur basically sayin that i ned to get my friends together and play in few tournies? Yeah thats basically it, but if I was you first you guys should learn to play as a team and get to know how each one of you play before jumping into some tournys. Me and my 3-man team have been playing togeather for about 4 or 5 years and we all know how each other play and he have learned how to play as a good team togeather. But you don't have to wait 4 years just get to play in a local tourny, but learn how each of you play and who supports what position on the field good.

Well you'll want to find a backplayer. Even know the backplayer may not seem like much at sometimes they are really the people saving the frontman.Backplayers play just as big as a roll in a team as a frontman, they are the ones getting the words out who is where and saving the frontmen by not allowing the other teams frontmen to advance.
But when you guys get or establish a backman make sure he don't always play back. I can play any position on the field with quite the skill and that helps my team out in some situations where I might be needed to more up.I'm personally one of the most unexpected players to get into the snake but when I do I can make a mess of the other team.
Personally I'm a backman when I play semi so I know what a backplayer does for the team and what roll they play on a team.

I mainly play mid... but ya, depending on tournament you should find ppl set for positions.. I play at HRL which is really fast paced and you dont really want backmen, 1 at the most... this player has to be able to breakshoot and call positions as well as lay RAPID fire down and cover the frontman
the mid player moves off of break either shooting or sprinting to get to a bunker that is around the 30 or so and pics people off at a closer range (these are the people that go snake most of the time)
Now its frontmen... these are battle hardened players that head up to the 40/50 off of break, their main objective is to keep the enemys back and to retrieve the flag before the other team has a chance to obtain it and get the 20 points for first flag pull...
All members must work together and be able to move and be flexible about their positions... find people your compatable with and then look for sponsors or other sources of funding.

Im in a team called Nu Age Paintball. Were movin up in the ranks down here in FL. Like we beat a team called the Punishers a few days ago. Anyways. You should get your friends together and sit em down and ask.."You Guys arent gonna flake out on me in a few weeks right". You should make sure evrybody is as driven as you are. Then in terms or guns. To be on a team that cometes with others you are going to want to look into higher end markers such as the shocker and nerve. Once you have em you should be able to enter your first tourny. Start small like 3 mans. Eventually you will call attention to yourself and maybe a big paintball company such as Eclipse or Smart Parts will sponsor yu. But from then on you have a commitment to win everygame you play or atleast lose like a winner xp . Companys only want the best of the best and wil drop you if you start losing. Then you might want to look into a manager or Coach.

well i think that the easiest thing is just to get on another team, but here are a few steps u can go through.
1. Get a group of friends that are the best of the best at your paintball park and wont flake out on u when a tourney comes around and u lose, I know on my team we thought that the team was solid and then 2 or 3 guys stoped coming to practices.
2. Make some team jerseys to make it look official.
3. Practice as a team against people who play better than u, the captain on my team has banned us from playing newbies so that we dont get sloppy
4. Get in an XPSL tourney or PSP or something like that and show how good a team u are.
5. Create a letter asking people to sponsor your team including your ranking at the tourniments. Usually local stores and companies will likely be your target. Offering advertising on your jersey and other benifits if they give you more monney or discounts.
6. Keep practicing on a regular basis fundraising to get admission fee to tournes and such.
7. Soon you will be a locally known team and remember to practice with other teams to be known on a higher basis than amongst the newbs

Oh yeh its not always the best to have your friends on your team because then they take things to offensivly when you try to help them on their game or dont play them and they tend to slack more
