Training Death Hunter DEATHSWEEPER General Information The large stone cavern with the tiled floor and large yellow smiley face is likely familiar to at least several trainees, and may even feature in a few nightmares from time to time. Welcome to Deathsweeper, the training course that may only be attempted via c-type golem, and often acts as a testing ground for the Life Division's more painful creations. Stealth and detecting imminent danger are vital for Death Hunters and anyone who has to spend extended amounts of time near Caelius. The Deathsweeper chamber is full of hidden traps that only the finest of survival instincts can survive unscathed.
If you fail: you get to once again relive the sensation of dying. Painfully and sometimes quite strangely.
If you win: you have survived stepping 5 tiles into the room. Anything further is purely for peen and bragging rights.
Mechanics roll 1 d10 check for hp loss and death decide whether or not to use your bonuses if you survive, repeat. roll list: the traps are ICly constantly changing, so feel free to get creative as to what exactly those traps are! -50% HP is off your full HP, so if you hit -50% twice, then you are 100% KO'd

Bonus Mechanics This bonus is consumable. All participants get a flag, this flag will allow your character to notice something about the area they're stepping into. OOCly this means you can adjust your rolled number, up or down, by one point. Instinctive moves are used in the same manner as flags. These are stackable, so if you have 1 flag + 1 instinctive move, you can use them up in order to adjust your roll by two.
(If you roll a 1, you may not move your number down to 0, -1, or 10. And 10 cannot be adjusted to 1 or 11.)

One does not simply walk into the god forsaken ground that was the death sweeper. No, one huffed and pouted a good hour before they got off their fat lazy a** and walked over, grumping and trying to come up with excuses on why not to do it the whole way. As he arrived Marcus was bordering turning heal but- It was hard to do so after the ones on duty, who knew you were a stubborn a** and a glutton for punishment, saw you standing in the doorway looking at the pods. Huffing, he nodded and explained what he was going to do. Another run. As many as he could until he beat it. How typical of him. Setting him up and getting the golem ready, Marcus crossed his fingers. He wanted to beat this so badly, just- beat it and never have to look back. But of course people rarely got things that they wanted now did they? As he felt himself sleep then wake in the Golem, Marcus looked at the course. Hell probably looked like this. Or his own personal hell. So why did he keep coming back? Oh right. Because he wanted to get better. Because he wanted to beat all the things and be able to say he did it. Deep breath, he stepped onto the first tile to return to what was a common occurrence. Death on the first step. Good times, good times for all. Status Step: 1HP: 0 (Died) Flags:Instinctive moves:

As he came back the hunters gave him sad smiles they knew how the game was played, how Marcus rolled. He was stubborn, wanting to jump right back into it, to beat it into submission. Nodding, they sent him to another golem, ready for another round. It didn't last very long however, as again, the first step proved fatal. Only this time he was cut in half by a giant saw. They were getting more bloody he guessed, unsure if it was good or bad. Status Step: 1HP: 0 Horrible death Flags: 1 Instinctive moves:

Okay, the third try of the day. He'd woken back up and the hunters on duty were ready and waiting. They had the golem ready to go for him and all he needed to do was say he was ready. Once that was done he was back on the field, death close and at hand. Moving onto the first tile he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder. then in the back. His legs, his arms. Darts, dozens of them, sticking out of his backside like a porcupine. Hissing, he held still. He wasn't dying, but he was in pain. It was in some ways worse. At least with death you could leave and that was it. this was lingering pain, not about to go away anytime soon. Still, he was alive, he had to press onward. It was the first step, but hopefully not his last. Status Step: 1HP: 50% Flags: 1 Instinctive moves:

The next step was amazing. In the fact that nothing happened. Still in pain, he paused, looking at the other tiles. Two down, three to go. Grunting, he looked for where he'd go next. ******** death sweeper was a b***h. Status Step:2HP: 50% (nothing happened) Flags: 1 Instinctive moves:

Again, nothing. He was safe for the time being, but how long might that last? With his luck, he wasn't betting on very long at all. Just two more steps to go and he's beat it. Before he stepped down on the next tile, he used the flag, watching as it showed the tile to lead to a lovely pit of spikes. Really. Lovely. Avoiding, he was lucky enough to be safe on the tile next to it. But- One more. This was it. He almost felt excited. Almost being the key word. And lo, his fully healthy golem was gone. It was a seering pain in his legs as he stepped onto a tile that caught fire, prompting him to move directly to the next. Status Step: 2HP: 50% Flags: 1 Instinctive moves:
