As night fell, the stallion shifted uncomfortably. He had been resting beneath the tree for most of the afternoon; he had used up too much energy in the morning... he'd been forced to chose between finding a quiet place to sleep, or continuing to gallop about and randomly falling over from exhaustion. Unfortunately, that meant that he'd gotten his sleep allowance and was now wide awake. At night. He sighed and got to his hooves, peeking around the moonlight meadow. At night, when everyone with an ounce of sense was sleeping peacefully...

He frowned, and began walking towards a nearby stream. If he didn't have anyone to talk to, he could at least get a nice drink...
Hopefully he wouldn't encounter one of the less-than-savory creatures who stalked the night in search of prey. That... would be bad.

He peered around nervously, his ears twitching to and fro. He didn't fancy being someone's midnight snack.

It was another night like the one before. Luna had been slowly traveling through these lands. They were filled with common things, trees, meadows, grasses. Nothing new seemed to pick her interest. She hadn't even seen another Soquili in ages. She was getting antsy and bored. The night was still young though and she kept her head up in hopes of seeing another.

She soon heard the sound of running water. All of sudden she felt very thirsty. She ran towards the sound of the water and found herself at a stream. She lapped at the water hungrily.

After a second she heard a sound. She lifted her head and saw a white Soquili heading down towards the stream. She resisted the urge to run and greet the stallion because she was still thirsty. She waited patiently, a rare occurrence, and watched the stallion as he approached.

He breathed a deep sigh of relief; no nasty creatures seemed forthcoming. He appeared to be alone amidst the calm of the night.

His head hanging a bit lower as his posture relaxed, his ruby-red eyes fixed forwards as he made his way towards the stream. It shimmered peacefully in the moonlight, quiet the inviting sight for any whose throats were dry from-

He halted mid-step, one leg poised comically in the air as his heart beat frantically against his ribcage. Run? He had almost missed the purple-and-blue winged... mare?... She shimmered much like the stream itself; it was only by the grace of those golden accents that he had seen her at all.

He slowly crept forwards, hoping he wasn't intruding upon a private moment. She seemed harmless enough, with her large and pleasantly poof-y wings.
He inclined his head in greeting, and now his head was so low it almost touched the ground.

Luna continued watching the Stallion as he looked relaxed and than all of a sudden caught sight of her and stopped, not even putting his foot down. She let out a little sound of amusement and shook her head and laughed at the stallion. She should stand still more often it was amusing to watch others reactions.

She lapped up a bit more water and watched as the stallion got closer. She even thought his putting his head down seemed amusing with the cloth around his neck touching the ground and his head almost doing the same. She could see him better now. He was white with brown spots and a stubby tail and had a strange cloth around his neck. "Hello, don't worry I'm not going to eat you," She laughed again and introduced herself. "I'm Luna," she said smiling at the stallion.

She didn't make any attempt to move towards the stallion. She continued drinking the water as she waited for his reply.

Although his first reaction to her laughter was to flinch at the noise, it did not seem to be malicious. He relaxed again when she reassured him with a pleasant greeting, and picked his head up a little, his ears now perked in interest.

By then he had reached the stream, and dipped his muzzle in carefully to take a quick sip. His throat felt parched, possibly from the undue fear that had captured him in a moment of surprise, but the water soothed his throat and he felt he could respond.
He hoped that this was not her personal stream; he knew that some Soquili were rather territorial... though this seemingly kind mare did not seem to be one to go to such lengths to feel empowered, he found that he often over-thought even the simplest of matters.

"Hello... I apologize for my behavior, I do not often encounter others at night." He meant others who did not mean to harm others, of course, but he wasn't about to say that; he didn't want to insult the mare. When she smiled, he could see that her teeth were those of the grazers, and not the meat-eating or omnivorous breeds that wandered the lands. Further proof that he his hesitance was unjustified.

Remembering his manners, he dipped his head low (this time in a quick bow) and then straightened up to show that the last head-lowering had been purposeful. "It is a pleasure to meet you Luna. I am called Kahana Kei." His name meant pleasant turning point, though the word order was switched to end on a happier note.

Now that they had exchanged names, and pleasantries aside, he felt comfortable enough to take another quick drink to hide his sheepish grin.

Luna was happy that he had decided to stay and share a drink with her. She was often confused by others nervousness. She herself was rather out going and didn't see anything to fear. Luna had actually been quite lucky to have never met any that meant her harm. She perked up a bit when the stallion joined her.

She herself wasn't really one for manners, though she had meat plenty who bowed when the first met as this stallion was. "That is an interesting name, don't think I've heard one like that before," she said a bit coyly. "I've only come out at night, so that is when I mostly meet others, but it's been awhile. The nights have seemed to have dragged on with no one around. You always this skittish at night?" She asked wondering if this was normal behavior or not.

She took another drink and than skipped over to his side of the stream accidentally splashing a bit of water in his face as she did so.
