Amarus did not feel too bad about the day. She sat at the edge of her bed, Ashbel curled up over her feet like fluffy foxfire slippers. It was kind of nice to have a living creature unafraid of her spectral side. She leaned over and scooped him up, cuddling him in her lap for a second before looking both ways to see if Jin and Crow were watching... and then burrying her face in Ashbel's fur while hugging him so tight he squeaked.
Sometimes, it was nice to indulge in girly displays of excitement. When she squeezed Ashbel she nearly felt happy, in a profound sense of the word. Jin and Crow were made of something far tougher than Ashbel, however, so this was the only one of her pets which would both allow her to bury her face on them and be pleasant about it. Scales and more ghostly tendrils were not fun, either of them, to be affectionate towards.
She set Ashbel aside, and he burrowed under her covers. She extracted herself from bed: About time I get going, she figured. It wasn't that punctuality was typically a concern, but this was basically her only plan all day.
Tea time! With King.

King had set out the table, and the leaves and petals set in small plates so Amarus might be able to chose what she liked. He'd also set out some simple steamed dumplings in case the got hungry. Mostly, aside from his guest, he was just waiting for the water to come to a boil. He had various other things he might offer her, but, as she was meeting him in his dorm room, (apparently, some ghosts had no appreciation for open flames or boiling water. Water spirits, so temperamental), King had chosen to make sure the door would be open and that he was dressed in better than his regular garb. Not that it mattered much, as he was currently in his natural form, happily rolling in the mint leave and snow in a portion of his room. Apparently the small 'snow bank' had been for a yuki-onna who'd had the room before him, but now the area was simply King's snow pile. The bed was nice, but it hardly beat a snooze in the snow proper. The mint was more or less to help him focus and not end up in an accidental lull to Amarus's aroma. It was nice, but to become lazy on languid in the middle of a conversation seemed quite rude.
So, in his dorm, buried under a small pile of snow, he waiting Amarus, door open, water over the burner.

Amarus was by no means a tea expert. She liked it, sure, she liked a lot of things well enough, but she'd have no clue what to choose if given a bunch of options. Amarus, as she walked towards King's room, tried to jump high enough to touch the ceiling, and failed miserably. Too bad her speed shift didn't really...work on a vertical level. Since she didn't really own a whole lot of other clothing (almost none, really) she was dressed exactly the same way she always was. Her bells announced her arrival from down the hall.
When she knocked and walked in via the open door, she scanned the room for King, but didn't see him-- until her silver eyes focused on the pile of snow, and she laughed in surprise. "Is... that you?" she asked, just to be sure. Looks like King's natural form was... adorable. Amarus repressed the urge to go over to the snow pile and burry her face in King like she had just done with Ashbel; her socialization might be awful, but it wasn't that bad. Yet.
She took a deep breath and sat next to the snow bank, watching King. "That looks ... kind of fun," she admitted, after a pause.
Then, her attention shifting to something else, she looked at the leaves and petals arranged out and said, "Wow, you are the tea master, and your room smells great."

Getting up and shaking the snow off his fur, King put his paw on the pin laying on the floor before resuming the humanoid shape. He did another shake for good measure. Snow liked to try and hide in his clothing in this form. "Sorry if I got any one you." He realized, having shaken off next to her. "It ah- a habit. and oh its not so much fun as relaxing. Of course, rolling in the snow is anyways enjoyable provided one enjoys the snow. The more fire inclined I doubt would enjoy the activity as much as I."
Motioning for her to join him, King moved to the table, sitting on one side leaving the pillow for the other. "And not so, I've been told my room smells of wet dog but gnomes , they are not the most friendly bunch. But please, this is a modest set. I can explain the various leaves, or do you already have a preference?"

It was still a little strange to watch students return to their humanoid forms. Amarus had to remember that the adorable fluffy dog... was actually King? And also equally that while she would love to pick the fluffy dog up and cuddle it, she could not do that with King. Amarus' face remained blank, as she waited for King to shake the snow off. "I don't think it will kill me," she joked, even though yet again, she forgot to change her facial expression to reflect that. She merely manipulated her tangibility, for a moment, to shed any unwanted snow. Not that it really mattered. She was a ghost, after all. There was something nice about the snow when King was involved, though, wasn't there-- a kind of elegance to it, instead of just... really cold water.
"It's relaxing to roll in the snow?" she repeated, as if registering the information. She tapped her lips with one finger, thinking, and then turned her attention back to the tea leaves. She snorted as King suggested the gnomes had told him his room smelled of wet dog. "Is that the case? Maybe I am just broken," she replied. "On the other hand, I bet your room smells significantly better than the gnomes themselves, no matter what they say." And, having said that, she leaned forward a little to stare at one of the plates intently.
Maybe it would be an easier task if she even recognized half of the options. "I have never really had elaborate tea, before. My tastes are simple and uncomplicated, but... I'd like to try something new. Any recommendations?" Amarus sat next to what King had called a modest set and scanned all the dishes with her eyes.

King loved snow as it was just something he'd grown up with, it was a part of him and his people as well. Snow was if anything, their 'element'. "No, snow is not very deadly..well. Unless one is victim to an avalanche." He might have nothing to worry about but others... they would indeed, have to be careful.
Looking at the leaves he pointed to those of a deep red dried flower- "Hibiscus. It's a colorful and tart tea, but a bit of honey sweetens it fast enough. You let it sit a short while, and after use the lid to keep the leaves back. If it's to tart honey will help." As he began on his own cup, (green tea with a small drop of honey), he smiled at her comment on the gnomes. "The gnomes are as they are. Though yes." He chuckled, "some could use a bath themselves."
Pointing out the different teas he realized he'd not suggested- "there is a type of green tea that is infused with the scent of the lotus flower if you'd like that." If so, he'd need to adjust the kettle properly.

"Even then, I feel like that would be just... tedious for me?" Amarus suggested. Being a ghost meant that oxygen wasn't really necessary, and her lotus aura provided light, so... it would be a very long, long matter of digging herself free from an avalanche's aftermath, in the end. Especially since she didn't feel heat and cold like other species did. Unlike King, Amarus' origins had a lot more to do with plant life, so she preferred those to snow. They were often mutually exclusive, too.
She eyed the red flower, curious. Hibiscus. She recognized the name, but she had never seen it dried out. Well, if King recommended it, then perhaps it was worth a shot? "Yeah, maybe that, then." She wasn't really hesitating, so much as pausing in excitement after King had indicated there was in fact a type of green tea with a lotus scent. "Really? Would it be... troule?" Amarus asked, excited. If she had a tail, at that moment, it would be swishing back and forth. Her mirror-empty expression and calm exterior shifted just slightly in anticipation. Her hands were clasped in her lap, however, and she didn't want to assume that the lotus tea was a definite possibility.
Still, if it was... She really should beg for a lotus pond for her room. It would make her life a lot nicer. Well, her death, but whatever. Same thing.
