Pur was... well, Pur was very much excited for this day. Her excitement was so much so that, after Herryk's visit to her bed and subsequent sleeping, she herself could not get to sleep. She had stayed awake almost all the night, her mind filled with the exciting thoughts and ideas of what his pride looked like. Though they would not be living there, it excited her nonetheless.
She awoke before Herryk, or more like just got up and left, and went to a nearby pond to clean herself up. She felt like today was the start of forever and that the unpleasantness that was her childhood could be locked away and forgotten about. She could finally feel the happiness she had only seen in her visions.
Having finished her bathing early, Pur had decided to make a small little trinket for herself, although it was not as grand as some of the pieces she would see the Stormborn wear, she thought it was cute nonetheless. A little tail accessory, made of the seasons flowers and fastened to her tail as best she could with thin strips of reeds. She felt pretty.
She managed to return before Herryk had even awoken, which made Pur giggle a little to herself. He seemed spent. Teehee. And than proceeded to store the kill she and Herryk had been feasting on the evening prior. There was not all that much left on the meal, but it would need to be kept in the little cool, dry hole she had found some days ago so it wouldn't rot. There was still a snack left on it, after all, and she also didn't want to attract foragers to her home.

Herryk woke with a start, one thing becoming immediately obvious.
Pur was not by his side.
The bedding where she'd rested by his side was cool to his paw's touch which caused him to frown. This was not how he'd wanted to wake up this morning. He'd wanted to open his eyes to the sight of his well-loved wife by his side, and yet this was not the case. Rising to his feet, Herryk briefly stretched before striding out of her - no, their - little den.
Catching sight of her, he gruffly called out. "Wife." Only then did he sit and wait for her approach. She looked like she'd been awake for quite some time; that, too, made him feel a bit cranky. How could he have been more tired than she? That made no sense. Perhaps it could be attributed to her excitement. He knew how much she was looking forward to this day.

Pur had just managed to pull the kill into the hole and cover it nicely with leaves when she heard Herryk's gruff voice call for her. He was awake! With a pep in her step, Pur took off for their little tree-den and round the corner with a bright smile on her face.
"Good morning~" She said, huffing a little from dragging the bones over some very tricking downed trees to where the storage hole she found was. "Did I wake you? I didn't mean to."
She gave him an apologetic look and hurried to his side with a purr and a quick rub against him. She hadn't meant to make him upset, and hoped that her thoughtless actions hadn't ruined his plans and their day. She had just wanted to make sure that everything that needed taking care of for the day was done.
"I'm sorry," She said quietly, her tail swaying slowly against the ground, kicking up the fragrance of the flowers she'd tied to it.

Herryk grunted loudly for no particular reason other than he could. His nostrils flared as he caught scent of her mingled with the flowers she'd knotted to her tail. A hint of a smile toyed with his muzzle though he squashed it immediately. Herryk did not ever smile. He was too busy being serious and grumpy.
"I woke this morning and my wife was not by my side," he rumbled, watching her closely. It was not so much a complaint as it was him letting her know that he'd have much rather awoken with her by his side. Of course, he wasn't going to use the words that would actually say that. Then again, she hadn't been frightened off by his gruff nature so far, and Herryk knew that she never would be.
"Are you prepared to leave, then? I am not willing to remain in the pride long. It suffocates me," he grumbled, leaning forward to n** at her ear.

Pur's ears fell back slightly at Herryk's words. She had not thought about how important it might have been to him to wake up and see her and suddenly she felt very selfish. She was very glad that it hadn't hurt him. Yes, he seemed a little upset, and she couldn't blame him for that understanding now that it was something important to him, but he was not hurt by her actions. She would not make the same mistake next time.
Pur smiled a little when Herryk nipped her ear and they flicked back up as she blushed. Her excitement came back to her and she nodded her head to her husband as he asked if she was ready to go. She knew he wasn't very comfortable in the pride, and she could not blame him, it was where his father lived. And she knew how much Herryk did not like his father... that she could remember very clearly.
"I'm ready to go," She said with a grin, her paws gripping at the ground. "Maybe I can learn something while we're there."
From Pur's trips to the borders of the forest, her secret travels to peer in on the pride and their inhabitants, she heard of healers and people who made beautiful things. If her and Herryk were going to live in the forest, raise a family in the forest, it would be wise for her to learn a little something that would help her to take care of her family. Something for her to help take care of him.
She had never been this eager for anything before.

Herryk couldn't help but feel quite pleased by the blush that bloomed on her skin beneath that pretty, pale fur of hers. He would never tire of making her blush. There was something empowering over the fact that he had the ability to make her blush. Something carnally exciting. He knew how much of a hold he had on her, and that brought him great satisfaction.
"Come, then, wife." He narrowed his eyes, a smile threatening his lips. "Lead the way. I am sure you know the way. Much of the pride knows of you." He paused and shook his head.
"They call my wife the Ghost of the Forest."

Pur tried her best to surpress the wide grin forming on her maw and instead look apologetic that the pride he was from already knew of her existence to an extent. Especially so, because she was not to have gone that far to the edge of the forest and she had done so anyway. She couldn't help herself, she was so intrigued and desperately wanted to see what some of the inhabitants of his pride were like, even if he disliked being there.
"The Ghost of the Forest?" She inquired, trotting off in the direction she knew the pride to be, a peppy spring in her step as she went. She hummed joyfully as she went along, the sounds of the forest serving as accents to her tune, "But I am very much alive."
She giggled slightly and steadied her pace so she could walk beside him, "And very happy."

Herryk gave a small grunt as they walked along, sending her a knowing glance out of the corner of his eye. The fact that she seemed almost apologetic didn't bother him; he much preferred to see the little grin flicker across her face. Her good mood was rather infectious and he couldn't help himself from feeling a little excited, as much as it annoyed him.
"It is good that you are alive, else I would find myself without my wife."
If it seemed that he was calling her wife more and more often, he appeared to be oblivious. "And your husband is glad to hear that you are happy." He was, that much was certain.

The more Herryk called Pur 'wife' the brighter Pur's smile and eyes seem to gotten. Just that word alone brought her such immense joy, how in the world would she react to being called 'Mommy'? Thankfully, it was not a question that came to her mind at the moment and instead she focused on Herryk and their visit to the pride.
"My husband," She repeated almost whimsically. Nothing had ever truly been her's before, not even her own being, so to hear him call himself her husband was like a shiny new trinket to her.
They were already towards the half-way mark of their trek to the inner-sanctum of the pride at this point and Pur couldn't help but find herself growing more anxious and chatty. She felt like flying.
"Do you like our den?" She asked, so very pleased to call it 'our den'. She wanted his opinion on things. She had been living in it alone for the time being and arranged it to her liking, but he was there now and it should be their shared space in her mind, "Do you want anything changed?"

Herryk grunted as she continued to prance about, twittering here and there about what he wanted changed, how he liked their den. None of that honestly mattered to him. He had something now that was his and his alone - and for the first time since meeting this Ghost of the Forest, for the very first time, he was looking forward to her visions coming true.
"It will not matter in time," he grunted once more, loudly this time. "I do not think that we will be staying there once you are fat with my cubs."
No, they would assuredly have to move once the prospect of fat little cubs became a reality.

Herryk's words came as a surprise to her. She had not expected him to already be thinking about conceiving cubs, in fact, she hadn't even thought of such things when she prepared her, now their, den. Perhaps she shouldn't have put so much effort into it while hoping that this very day would come. Oh Pur, why do you always go so overboard with things?
"I guess it doesn't matter," Pur affirmed, turning to look at him for a brief moment as she walked, "You're right. We'd have to move."
For the split second that Pur had given Herryk her full attention she had missed a tree-root sticking up out of the ground on the trail. Her paw stepped on it as she walked and the imbalance of her steps caused said paw to slip and her to go down face first to the ground with it. Thankfully she caught herself and did not fully hit the ground, but now the backs of her fore-legs were sprinkled with dirt.

"Pur," Herryk exclaimed as much as he could exclaim, being Herryk, "please, wife. You must learn to walk carefully. After our play last night you might very well be with child." He pressed his nose to her cheek and nudged her softly before moving ahead, losing sight of any reaction she might give.
"I suppose it would be fine for you to travel from our den to the pride daily, if you should like, or perhaps I might be convinced to move closer." The words were called over his shoulder nonchalantly, almost teasing.

Herryk's remark, as it didn't sound like a chide to Pur, struck a chord with her and after he pressed his nose to her cheek and moved on, Pur began to lag behind. Her mind flooded with thoughts almost instantly. What if she was with child? Did her fall hurt them? Sure, she didn't fall-fall, but what if it was enough to do damage?
At this point Pur had come to a stop and was suppressing a sob. How could she be so careless to let herself slip and almost fall when she might be with child? How could it not occur to her that it was a possibility? This was what her vision was focused around. The joyful occasion that was the birth of her and Herryk's children. What if she messed it up?
"What if I am?" She finally choked, trying to hardest not to cry but eventually doing so, "What if I hurt them? How could I be so stupid?"

It took Herryk a few long moments to discover that Pur was no longer walking alongside him. He'd been rambling on about possibly moving closer to the pride so that she would not need to exert herself if she should wish to visit, and unbeknownst to him Pur had started to cry a fair distance behind him.
With a gruff grunt, Herryk turned back to soothe her as best he could (which wasn't really that great because he wasn't the most ...emotionally adept lion). He pressed his nose to her cheek again, even going to far as to groom her cheeks and muzzle.
"Now, now, wife. I like to think that my sons are far hardier than that, made to endure even the harshest of falls." Yes, his sons. Problem?
"Dry your tears, wife. It is nothing. We are close to the pride, now. Smile for your husband so that we might get this visit over with. I am eager to return to our home so that I might... spend more time alone with my wife."

Pur suppressed her cries as Herryk comforted her. Deep down she knew he was right and one fall, or what could barely be called a fall, could not have had the capacity to do anything to her even if she was pregnant. She would just have to be careful from now on. Very careful.
"You're right," Pur murmured, rubbing her eyes dry after Herryk comforted her and quickly trying to make herself look presentable again. Hopefully no one was skulking around and overheard her worries. She was far, far different than most the lionesses in the pride after all, and being emotional was just part of what made Pur, Pur.
As though she was obeying a command, Pur gave Herryk a smile and a tiny laugh. He really wanted this to be over with, and to go back home. She could tell. She would have to come back to the pride's inner sanctum on her own time if she wanted to learn something or explore. Especially now that she was being presented as more than just the Forest Ghost.
"I like our alone time," Pur grinned, her nose and ears flushing pink beneath her white fur. "It's fun."
