********, Clerise was sore. A night spent in the company of Clarice and her fine, fine bathroom wasn't enough to erase the fact that she had been trounced by three upper level hunters in the span of a week or two. It was not her brightest hour, it was true. Thanks to the deep seated burns in her muscles and the scabbed slashes from various blades-- or in Whiny's case, a GIANT ********' WHEEL-- the redhead decided that she may want to hit up the gym, instead of the training fields, this time. In uh. Some worn out sneakers, this time, yoga pants, and a tanktop, instead of the thigh high boots and a leotard. Clerise carefully loaded weights onto the bar, humming to herself. Balthazar was around her neck-- not the best place for him, but he got fussy as hell when she tried to put him away. She was well warmed up by now, face flushed with exertion. A nice 250 deadlift set of 5 by 1s would work for today.

Rep'd had a baptism of fire as far as his arrival to the island had gone, barely there any time at all and already on the hit list of what felt like half the island. He ached in places he didn't even know he had and had spent a day or two after his run in with Candace enjoying aches in very special places indeed. All of this on top of the fact that he now lacked a decent showerroom meant he was a good deal worse for wear. All his baths of late had been taken in cold seawater. It didn't make him feel like a pirate the way he hoped, merely like his hair was getting dry and messier than usual.
As far as entertainment went, he'd been trying to combat aches and pains with raw training, beating back muscle pains with more exertion, determined he'd be able to weild Tracey eventually without spraining or pulling anything. Normally the gym when he went was fairly quiet and he got a few hours to himself to just relax and let down his permanently tensed guard a bit.
Today though he wandered in, dressed in some of his older more comfortable clothes, a bottle of water he'd refilled in hand. And froze. Oh great. Someone was here. This was like the damn showers all over again. And once again he was faced with the dillema that turning on his heels and walking away would be /losing/. So he, for the time being, tried to ignore the woman he'd mentally already labelled "ginger b***h" from what he could see of her and headed over to the equipment, fishing out one of his favourite weights for bicep work, before glancing back over at her.
Damn, she was still there. And..sort of familiar.

Clerise's own first days on the island had been more forgiving. Certainly brutal in terms of spars and aches and pain-- but she had friends that put up with her. Balthazar wasn't that bad, either, and he was content enough to sleep as she worked out.
With the sets of dead-lifts done, she jumped up down, shaking out her shoulders, oblivious to the world around her. That is, until she was putting weight backs.
Weird. No one...really just...DID bicep curls, right? There weren't any guidos here. Clerise blinked, obviously confused by his trepidation.
"Oy, ginger ninja," she said, waving at him with a hand, not realizing who the b*****d was quite yet-- she was s**t at recognizing people from the internets.
"You need a spotter or something?" Clerise jabbed a thumb at the bench press and a few other things, head tilted. Waiting.
Or maybe he really WAS just going to do bicep curls. Weirdo.

Rep practically TWITCHED at the hated G word the instant it met his ears, going from vaguely checking Clerise out to narrowing his eyes in cold dislike, tossing the weight he was holding from hand to hand without even realising he was doing it, wanting rather badly to throw it /at/ her.
"Excuse me? What did you ******** call me? I'm not GINGER. Not by a ******** long shot. Its auburn okay, just cause you are a ******** ginger witch doesn't mean I'm a fellow daywalker, I'm not part of your ******** cult." His freckles and complexion clearly didn't /count/.
"And no. I might just ******** leave it. I didn't realise it'd be woman's night at the gym."

Clerise cocked her head again, like a confused animal, at how much he hated the word. "But you're covered in freckles," she said, gesturing at his face, nose crinkled in confusion, getting closer. "You're also paler than I am." Despite being a redhead, Clerise's hair was closer to candy oranges and yellow. At the "woman's night" comment, the acrobat laughed hysterically-- and, perhaps, not in the best of ways, as it took on a cruel and maniacal edge. Clerise Nicole Wilson had just realized that this ******** was William Reed. Red eyes grew cold as the smile on her pierced lips failed to reach them. "Why HELLO there, William," she crooned, advancing on him, her stance immediately shifting from weary and casual into something more dangerous. "I wouldn't want you to be embarrassed by a woman doing better than you, after all," she crooned. "Go on, run away scared with your tail between your legs. I won't tell." Her voice had taken on a mocking tone, and she dismissively raised her head, lips in a sneer, shooing him away with a hand.

Freckles. God how he hated the ******** freckles. He hadn't even come up with an acceptable excuse to write the damn things off, so he stubbornly generally ignored them. Having his state of denial poked and prodded only made him worse, his stance stiffening more and more as he narrowed his eyes, she didn't even seem to be a natural ginger, her hair actually looked attractive, not quite the awkward mess Rep's usually was with his mishmash attempts to kill the ginger right out.
"The name's Rep." he snarled, becoming all the more defensive in the face of her change in tone. A woman with that sort of tone he'd found thanks to Candace, could very well be considering kicking you in the nads. It was a valuable lesson. "And you couldn't out-do me in a hundred years, you are just another ditzy b***h. I just couldn't be bothered with having to beat up someone else to claim use of a place the way I've had to since getting here." Okay so he hadn't beat up Jerry. That hadn't gone totally to plan, but the intent had been there. "But if you insist. I'll even go easy on you, wouldn't want to break that scrawny little frame of yours."

Clerise would get them, come summertime. A dusting across her nose and shoulders, only arriving after many hours spent in the sun.
"Okay, William," Clerise crooned, licking her bottom lip in a slow, deliberate manner. A lioness before her prey-- formidable, likely, from his stature. She had been expecting him to be short, really. Napoleon complex and all of that.
"You want to prove me wrong, then, mister bicep curls?" She grabbed Balthazar, yanking down on him as he slid from watch to ringblade, gleaming under the fluorescent lighting.
"Let's go outside, I rather like the gym."
At the insistence that Rep would go EASY on her. Oh. Oh, this was precious. Laughing, the redhead just grinned, showing too many teeth.
Christ.
She didn't even have her gauntlets-- this was going to hurt.
Would be worth it.

He immediately found his dislike growing, everywhere he went he ran headlong into women with strong personalities, it was a nightmare. He was used to dense petty little things who thought of nothing but how they looked and what their men thought about them. That or where their next hit or payment was coming from. Personality was /annoying/. He clenched his fists and set his jaw even more
"Oh I'll prove you ******** wrong alright. Even without trying I'll fold you five ways." His outward arrogance was always there but inside his head he wasn't quite as confident, the last few crushing defeats had knocked his confidence a bit, it was hard to admit to himself but he had no idea what to expect any more. He'd be damned if he'd give her /any/ idea of that.
He smirked toothily right back at her "Sure, I don't care /where/ I kick your a**, the result is the same, you, like all women, where you belong, on your knees."

Rep would need to get used to it-- there were a fair share of girls on the island that didn't put up with s**t like his. Clerise knew, really, that she should just laugh at it...but it bothered her.
It bothered her deeply that he thought, in all seriousness, that he was...better. Because of his c**k. NO c**k WAS THAT GREAT, OKAY?
"Oh, no need to be so hard on yourself, if you wanted to be on your knees in front of me, all you had to do was ask, William!"
Oh yes. She had just insinuated that Rep was a woman. Clerise obviously had no real regard for her own personal safety. Obviously.
They were outside the gym, now, and Clerise swung Balthazar around loosely, stretching her shoulders out.
This was going to be FUN.

Rep smirked "Oh that's cute. I've never had anyone try and diminish my masculinity by calling me a woman before. Nice to know you think women are low enough to use them as an /insult/ though." he laughed.
"You don't even NEED my help to insult yourselves." he could already feel the blossoming flood of adrenaline that preceeded a fight, it was something he loved, he lived for the thrill, and at the very least it eased off the dull aches and pains that had been dogging him the last few days.
Flexing his own aching shoulders, he concentrated, the familiar weight of Tracey dropping into his hands as he summoned the axe into action, wanting to get familiar again with the heft and shape of the thing before the fight. He intended to fight as though the honour of all men was at stake.
Though of course, if you asked him, he'd say he was going easy.
As soon as they arrived at the fields, he took his position opposite her, narrowing his eyes, guaging her coolly, he couldn't afford to underestimate anyone else.

Clerise just rolled her eyes, beckoning at Rep.
"I'll let you get first swing, sweetling," the acrobat crooned, crooking a finger at the other redhead. "Unless little ginger ninja's too scared to come at me proper, now that we're out in the open~?"
She was poking the bear. Poking the bear with a big, fat stick, sharpened. With a tazer attached.
It was exhilarating. Or maybe that was just the anticipation of a fight-- they always made her a wee bit weak in the knees with excitement. There was nothing better than testing your mettle against another-- and normally? Normally she wouldn't care much if she lost as long as she gave it her all. But if Clerise lost today, she was going. To be. SO. PISSED.

Rep didn't care for honour and he especially didn't care for being teased by a woman, so when he was offered the first blow, he took the chance. "No...no I'm not ******** scared. Not ******** scared at ALL. My mother told me I shouldn't really /hit/ women."
And with that he took a proper run up at her, determined to vent at least some of the endless smothering rage that seemed to power him day by day. He had to win, absolutely had to, and it was with utter and total seriousness that he slung Tracey over his head and brought him down as hard as he possibly could on Clerise.
"But some people just BEG to be the exception."

"Oh, for some reason, I doubt you really had much of a momma to begin with, Willy," she called back, sneering, unprepared for the blow that came down hard against her FEAR shield.
Sweet christ, she was not expecting such a blow to start with. She staggered back, wobbling visibly as the blow resonated throughout her body, limbs vibrating from the impact. OW. OW OW.
{[ You are a fool, Clerise Nicole. You knew he was volatile. ]}
"Whatever," she muttered at Balthazar who slowly was awakening in her mind, his rapier wit coming back at him.
"I was raised not to hit anyone at all," Clerise growled, charging at the other redhead, swinging Balthazar around her once to build up momentum and bringing him down on him, her own irritation evident behind the force of the swing.

"My mother was a ******** SAINT" he barked at her comment. It was a lie of course, his mother had more men than hot dinners, but it still felt good to just argue.
Tracey barked in his head, dragging his thoughts away from the past. Yeah, he was right, this was /no/ time to let himself wander to the past. This was all about saving his pride in the present. His distraction though cost him as her blow came down on him with staggering force, a degree he was /not/ expecting someone with her slight frame to be capable of. He reeled back, steadying himself only by using Tracey to lean on.
He didn't hesitate long though, once again he was up and charging her again.
"Then you were raised to be a p***y. As it SHOULD be." he grunted as he swung the blade forward again. Ginger. He'd show her ginger.

"Hahhaha, say it with enough conviction," Clerise said with a laugh, even as the weapon caught her in the shoulder, this time thoroughly knocking her on her a**. "and you just. Might. BELIEVE IT."
There was pain in her voice, as the gigantic axe HAD smacked her rather hard, and she felt her FEAR shield actually crack under the force of the blow. Shee itttt. Maybe he wasn't so weak after all.
"Gross!" Clerise spat, jumping back onto her feet as fast as she could manage. "I, in no way want to see your firecrotch, dude!" Lunging at him, she struck out with him in a horizontal arc, just barely glancing him.
Ugh. What a tool. Her shoulder hurtt, god. Why deadlifts. Why today!
