The Story:
Mutants are beings who have been given special gifts, and powers through genetic mutation. Each mutant is unique with their own ability, looks, style. But those different from them, humans, fear the difference between the two. Governments and organizations all around the world are becoming anti-mutant. Some are pro-mutant. But as the days go by, things keep getting worse. The war between mutants and humans will never seem to end. With the internal war and external war raging constantly, life for mutants and humans might not ever be the same again. Charles Xavier, founder and creator of his school for 'Gifted Youngsters', has parished. The school now in the hands of the other X-Men. Storm being the head mistress. The United States Government sees that school to be a threat on mild levels, harboring dangerous mutants, teaching them to use their gifts. The government just wants to shut them down. And they aren't the only ones.
Basically takes after the third movie.

Organizations:
The X-Men:
The X-Men fight everything ranging from mutant thieves to galactic threats. Historically, the X-Men have been based in the Xavier Institute, near Salem Center, in north-east Westchester County, NY, and are often depicted as a family. The X-Mansion is often depicted with three floors and two underground levels. To the outside world, it had acted as a higher learning institute until the 2000s, when Xavier was publicly exposed as a mutant at which point it became a full mutant boarding school. Xavier funds a corporation aimed at reaching mutants worldwide, though it ceased to exist following the "Decimation."
The Brotherhood:
The original leader of the team is Magneto, explaining his distrust of humanity and its inability to accept those who are different. They go againts humans and designed for use of violence to provide justice and lead the so-called 'mutant revolution' against mankind.
S.H.I.E.L.D:
S.H.I.E.L.D. was created by Nicholas Joseph Fury after the end of World War II, but he abandoned the idea and left the draft that he created for the agency locked away, feeling that the U.S. government wouldn't approve the formation of such an agency. S.H.I.E.L.D is now led by Tony Starks. This is an organization that often operates as much as a covert agency as a quasi-military one, initially depicted as affiliated with the United States government
M.R.D:
The Mutant Response Division is a mutant-hunting group. When the Leper Queen reorganized her Sapien League, she captured some mutants and infected them with the Legacy Virus. She then unleashed the infected mutants upon the people at an anti-mutant rally which resulted in the deaths of those participating there. Because of these incidents, the United Nations established the Mutant Response Division. They first target the mutants that aren't on X-Men's Utopia base which included X-Factor Investigations. They arrange a trap for them by hiring Absorbing Man to set up the trap.
HYDRA:
HYDRA is a criminal organization dedicated to the achievement of world domination through terrorist and subversive activities on various fronts, resulting in a fascist New World Order. Its extent of operations is worldwide, always attempting to elude the ongoing counter-espionage operations by S.H.I.E.L.D. HYDRA is funded by Baron Strucker's personal fortune, based on his recovered hoard of Nazi plunder from World War II, and funds established by the original leaders of the Japanese secret society that became HYDRA.
