Bix may have picked up an extra card and animal when he was shopping. Did he have a girlfriend? No. Was he dating anyone? Definitely not. Did he have a girl who it was just too awkward to be around for some reason? YES.

The hunter realized, right as he arrived outside of Minerva's door, that besides the effect of the cookies (and that she was from New York) he didn't know or remember anything about Minerva. She was nice, she was cute and she'd been fun but they were under the influence of joy and Bix hated feeling awkward if he could do something about it.

He'd left his uniform coat back in his dorm, hoping to keep this as informal as possible. The card and the gift were more of an apology than anything else. In his head Mina was laughing at him for being awkward. She encouraged him trying to act cool but he was smart enough to know that it always backfired when he made that attempt.

Bix knocked lightly on the door and held the stuffed frog and card in front of him.

Minerva the reculse was in the exact same place she had been for several days now. It wasn't for any one reason, really-- studying and training occupied a lot of her time and kept her far too busy to go out and socialize, and sleep of course wasted a few hours of everyday. And, to be honest, Minnie enjoyed the silence and solitude of her room. She especially found it easier to be seperated from others after all that had happened during the holidays. But...the routine was getting old, and the trainee didn't want to be cooped up in her room bogged down by responsibilities today. She would drop everything if someone would text or stop by...

Knock knock...

It was the week of Valentine's day after all! Even if Minerva wasn't dating or even looking, knowing someone thought fondly enough of you to buy flowers or candies was, in a way, reassuring. Then again it probably took some gift buying to receive some...

The woman, seated at her desk, gasped in surprise as Blythe's voice came through in a whisper. Her hands had been busily working on a certain snowglobe, tilting it and shaking it until it nearly slipped from her fingertips. "Hmm?" Minerva thrummed, having completely missed the quiet knock at her door. It took Blythe a long while to respond, but once she did the trainee spun in her seat to face the other end of her room.

And suddenly her heart was racing. While she would be glad to see anyone right now, a tiny bit of her wondered if it was a CERTAIN someone in particular. Quickly, brows furrowed from the nerves despite a welling excitement, Minnie rose to her feet and stepped around her bed.

"Hello?" The handle clicked and when the trainee who clutched her snowglobe swung the door open, her eyes fixed to a familiar red gaze before trailing down to a frog. She didn't say anything, returning to Bix's face hesitantly, but her lips were parted ever so slightly and the very ends of them seemed to be curling upward.

"Hey Minerva." Bix smiled a bit. His own heart was pounding for no reason whatsoever. The influence of the cookies had been strong enough to make this really awkward. "Happy Valentines day."

He handed her the frog and the card (he'd attempted to make it as non-lovey as possible), "When I went out shopping for my friends I thought of you and well.. I felt like things were weird? Between us? And I wanted to maybe clear the air a little?"

His cheeks were pink and regardless of being a grown man he shuffled awkwardly on her doorstep.

As she fumbled with the globe and frog, and began reading the card silently, Minnie murmured "Bix." as more of a greeting than anything else and then proceeded to giggle. Wolverine? Blythe also seemed to be reading and reacting to the situation, although she was not at all thrilled to see the albino boy on the death trainee's doorstep. As far as she was concerned, the effects were still lingering and it would be best if they never met face to face. Again. Ever...

The rest of what he said made Minerva pause and lift her gaze to the hallway behind him, looking left and right before opening the door a bit further.

Seeing Bix stand there, blushing, shuffling awkwardly...it reminded the woman of the night that caused all of this, and while things were certainly uneasy between the two of them; her own cheeks became hot and colored pink. "Do you want to come in?" She paused to reevaluate her proposal. "Or we could talk out here..." But really, Minnie didn't want to make the situation any more tense than it needed to be.

"Sure." Bix nodded to the invitation and walked in. He stood, unsure where to sit, and just waited for her. The silence was sort of killing him so he just went ahead with it.

"So yeah I felt like after the cookies and the beach that things were weird and maybe they shouldn't be?" He was twirling the end of his braid nervously. "And even though we couldn't help it, maybe I should apologize if I made you uncomfortable? At the time and then afterwards?"

"The bed?" Minnie suggested carelessly as her shoulder slid down the face of her door, sealing it shut. "You can sit on it if you'd like, that's what I meant." Another wave of embarrassment overcame the woman, golden locks shaken and then tussled as she moved around Bix haistily. The gifts were all set aside to free up her hands, grabbing hold of the chair she had once occupied to roll it toward the other trainee.

Minnie was definitely not prepared for this, even if she had spent countless hours thinking about when it would happen. Surely they couldn't avoid one another forever; what with missions and being cooped up on the island for good and all. She kept her head down once Bix began, gradually sinking herself into the chair, pressing her knees together, and flattening her palms out against her lap. The tension between them had been painfully obvious for quite some time now, even if others didn't exactly pay any mind to it. Things WERE weird after the cookie incident...but...

"You didn't make me feel uncomfortable!" Minnie suddenly blurted, her gaze snapping to meet with his. "I had fun with you that night, even if it didn't quite end the way I thought it would. I mean, I-I felt a little weird about the whole thing afterward yeah, but at the time it...wasn't weird?" She readjusted herself in the seat, quickly flicking her attention to the shuffling hands in her lap.

"I...I'm sorry that I've been avoiding you, or rather this. I can't say it hasn't been on my mind, but I didn't know how you felt." Her face was a brilliant shade of red as the words flooded from her mouth, a heavy breath meant to be smooth taken in sharp spurts like a crying child. Minerva was out of her element in this conversation and it showed. "You really didn't have to come to apologize. It was... an accident?" Yeah, that's what it was.

"I had fun too." Bix sat on the bed and let out a sigh, almost relief. "You seem cool and I had fun. But those cookies and that whole.." he waved his hands in the air, "Christmas thing. It really messed with me." He still couldn't even formulate fully how emotional everything had been then. A couple months had passed already and he was still unsure about all of it.

"I always prefer to apologize than have things be weird. I mean if someone is mad at me or uncomfortable, I want to hear it out of their mouth instead of just avoiding each other." The albino hunter nodded to her. "I'm glad you and I are friends though. Even after all that. Right?"
