Town: Celadon City Reigon: Kanto
He could not remember how long it had been since he had been since he had seen the Lab.
He could not remember how long it had been since he had seen Strat. But it was not that he just had a bad memory.
He could not remember Strat or Lab 707 the slightest bit.
----------
A figure stood with his fingers pressed against the glass storefront of the main department store, a small clicking noise emanating from his mouth, where a tiny white stick was pressed between his lips. Blue hair, normally pulled up into a hasty ponytail, spilled down his back in unruly dark waves, small, rounded ears pricked and pointed forward as the figure leaned back. He reached up a hand, absently clicked the lollipop once more against his teeth, and pulled it out, twisting it between two fingers.
The price of the cake was too high, and he was mildly put out by it.
Hector Hawkins - or at least, the Luxray who had once been Hector Hawkins - stuck the lollipop back into his mouth and slipped his hands into his pockets, stepping back away from the window, a small sigh escaping his lips. He had rather hoped to bring the cake back to the apartment he was currently staying at as a sort of "welcome to your new home" gift, but there was no way he could afford that price (who charged that high for a cake, anyway?)
Disappointed Hector was disappointed.
It wouldn't last, however, considering that right behind the elaborate and enticing window display lay a large sweets shop, and Hector was immediately and happily swept up into the brightly colored candies, tingling sweet scents, and, of course, the free samples. Needless to say, when he left the shop a good twenty minutes, he was laden down with all sorts of delicious goodies.
He probably should have been paying attention to where he was going, however, since with his head down, nose in the bag of sweets, Hector did not notice the young man he was walking into until he actually did just that. With a small thump the top of his head collided with something solid and Hector bounced backwards abruptly, the back of candy dropping from his hand and spilling out across the cobbled street.
"Pardon me, pardon me," Hector said at once, dropping down to one knee to gather up the candy again and giving the other a wide, sheepish smile. "Wasn't watching where I was going."

Ever since the Lab had exploded and they'd been shipped off to another part of the world things had been quieter. In fact Caellum found that he preferred not being around so many fellow Pokemon; humans typically didn't have the ability to electrocute him if they were annoyed with him. Never mind that it seemed that many of the humans in the area of the world he currently occupied didn't bother him at all. In fact they seemed to even avoid him at times which suited him just fine, honestly.
However there were a few downsides to being dumped in the middle of nowhere without any direction or income. First off he'd had to find a job, something that was annoying but he had come to find tolerable as he'd gotten lucky and found one in a library; it was seasonal work but for now it was fine. Next he'd had to acquire a place to live and, unfortunately, with his current wages and zero financial background he'd only been able to find a tiny place that tended to be noisy more often than not. He couldn't complain though considering that it was at least a place to sleep at night and that's practically all he had needed at the time.
As weeks passed he began to settle into a routine, walking to work, studying for a few hours despite the fact that he no longer had class, then walking home. A few people tried to befriend them but seemed to quickly lose interest due to his rather anti-social behavior towards them, specifically his tendency to ignore them altogether and read instead. However that day he was trying to read while he walked instead of staying at the Library, blue eyes scanning each line of text while his legs moved on auto-pilot. Normally it wouldn't be too dangerous to do due to the streets not being incredibly packed but, well, things never really did seem to go as planned when it came to Caellum.
Something large and human shaped suddenly collided with him, causing him to drop his book and stumble backwards, eyes narrowing. He opened his mouth to to reprimand the man before him as he crouched down to pick up his book only to freeze and stare. Those ears, the tail, the hair... Then there was the all-too-familiar face that lifted to offer him a smile, the same smile that used to make his eye twitch back at 707; of all the people to run in to...
"You." Caellum ground out, picking up his book and standing again, his expression annoyed. "Of all the people to find me, it had to be you. Of course it did. Did you follow me here or something?"

The voice that came from somewhere above Hector's head made him pause a little, ears flicking back as he blinked up at him. A young man, around his own age, with pale skin and light blue hair was glaring at him with a slightly startled expression in his eyes. A Squirtle, by the looks of it, and a distinctly annoyed one, if the tone of his voice was any indication.
Hector tilted his head, then went back to gathering up the rest of his belongings. Once the candy was safely tucked away in his bag, he straightened, and pushed his hair back away from his face. He flashed a bright, cheerful smile at the other.
"So sorry," said Hector, and gave a slightly rueful laugh, shaking his head. He carefully looped the bag of candy over his wrist, and then slipped his hands into his pockets, rocking back on the balls of his feet.
The smile flickered, just a little, but was rapidly replaced by a curious expression.
"Follow you?" repeated Hector, in a bemused sort of way, and then laughed again, shaking his head. "Why would I follow you?
"I don't even know you."

Caellum watched the Luxray gather up his discarded candy, his arms crossing over the book he had been carrying protectively, eyes narrowing. Perhaps it wasn't incredibly fair of him to hold a grudge against his one-time classmate but if there was one things that Caellum did well, it was hold grudges. His brows furrowed a little in mild confusion when Hector's expression shifted, noting the lack of recognition on the other man's features as he tried to work out who he was; Hector really had no idea who he was...?
"You've got to be kidding me." he muttered, one hand lifting to rub the bridge of his nose above his sunglasses; he couldn't believe this. "After all that s**t when we were..."
Caellum moved his hand in a gesture that demonstrated how short they were when they were younger, when they had gotten into their first squabble. Part of him was relieved that the Luxray wouldn't be hounding him to be his friend or harassing him just because he was bored, but the other was... Annoyed. Deep down he didn't like that he had been forgotten, despite the fact that he went out of his way to avoid others. What the hell was wrong with him?
"How can you not remember? We went to school together."
