Also it's worth noting that the obvious answer is the one and only Pinkie Pie, however I respect other opinions even though they're wrong.

Well, a lot of reasons.

-The surrounding community and fan creations from art to fanfiction are AMAZING.
-According to the creator, this iteration of the show is aimed at adult viewers as much as kids, because she didn't want the parents watching with the kids to have to suffer through it. And that really shows through in the humor they employ.
-The music is top-notch, even if a lot of it is girly subject matter. If you like broadway, you'll probably enjoy the music.
-Once in a while, it's actually really fun to just be like "You know what? Friendship and tolerance ARE awesome!"

Those are my reasons, anyway.

I used to like Rainbow Dash, and I've been told I'm more like Twilight, but The best, hands down, is Pinkie Pie. No contest.
