So she had punched Danny, but Danny had been happy about it, which meant he couldn't take the ghoul to the gym and beat the living jack out of her--unless she was stupid enough to punch HIM in the face, he thought with a hint of evilness. But for now he was just hunting down the pink haired ghoul to have a little chat with her. Which was why he was stepping out of the shadows in the school hallway, falling into step next to the ghoul that matched Danny's description. "Are you 'Am'?" he asked, his hands in his pockets, his silver eyes turned on her.

Amarus walked, as per usual, a couple inches off the ground, but otherwise as if she was solid. She was sort of wandering, trying to figure out if there was a class she was forgetting about, or she was free-- Amarus was kind of a slacker, unless it was something she wanted to do.
Whatever she was doing, it certainly wasn't thinking about Danny. So when someone stepped out of the shadows next to her, Amarus tilted her head curiously, but kept walking slowly. Amarus wasn't startled easily, given her generally muted emotions in the first place. "No. I'm not."
She paused, at length, stopped, and met the stranger's silver eyes with her own mirror-silver ones. "My name is Amarus, if that is perhaps what you meant." She loathed Am and probably wouldn't respond to it. "Do you... know me?"

"Mmm," he said. "You're the one that punched Danny in the face on Scarentines," he said almost blandly, his hands in his pockets. "My name is Roch. I'm here to ask why you punched my best friend in the face. Peacefully."
Ghost. She was a jackin' GHOST. Which was like, second mark against her in his book, even though he was willing to ignore that fact if she had a good reason.

Amarus smiled, as much as Amarus was capable of smiling. She remembered the punch fondly, and even pressed one hand against her stomach: Danny had, of course, had the opportunity to retaliate. It had hurt for quite some time after. "Her legs are strong," she said, as if that made any sense to anyone but her.
Amarus bowed her head, bells jingling, and surveyed his face with her empty eyes. "Hello, Roch, friend of Danny. It must be nice to have friends who would care that much for one another." In truth, Danny was her first successful punch in her 4-punch quota for Scarentines. Besides, she wasn't the only student who had been reduced to a fist fight. "Oh? Did Danny not tell you herself?"
Of course, peacefully. How could anyone behave differently? Amarus suspected there was some kind of displeasure or anger there, but it didn't particularly bother her nor ruffle her; she was both a ghost, and a Lotus Eater. Being a ghost of her type meant that her emotions were muted, so it was difficult to get worked up, and being a Lotus Eater meant that the very essence which fueled her was a hypnotic one.

"No, because I'm bettin' she don't know," he said bluntly. "Danny isn't the type to start a fist fight in the middle of a party, even if Edel is there. And if she won't do it for Edel I sure as hell doubt she'd do it for someone she didn't even know. So stop dancin' around the bush and tell me why you thought it was a good idea to hit my best friend."
Oh, here he went again, disliking yet another of Danny's new "pals." Really, he needed to find at least one of them that he could stand... Otherwise parties were going to be a pain in the a**.

Amarus blinked, crossed her arms over her chest, and then laughed. "How could she not know? She kicked me in the stomach right back; it was just a bit of fun," she said, "besides, we weren't really in the middle of a party. We got assigned to one another, a gnome came by... there was some fighting."
Amarus shrugged. Whatever had amused her by this point had already bored her. "I don't even know who Edel is." It wasn't that Amarus was Danny's friend; Amarus, at best, was an acquaintance who would not mind seeing her again, but likely just to fight. They had very little in common, but Danny was strong, and she didn't appear to be fearful in confrontation, which made her a worthwhile opponent.
"Is your temper always so strong?" she asked him, her voice even and soft, eyes reflecting whatever light in the hall there was. She suddenly realized where they were, and shifted her weight. "Are you sure you wouldn't like to talk about this somewhere less ... of a hallway?"

"You're a first year ghost," Roch said bluntly. "I've already broken one of her new 'pals' faces, I really doubt Danny would appreciate me leaving you broken and battered over something I've already healed." So it had been for fun? REALLY, he thought dryly. "And that was a game--a part of the party. It wasn't to set people up with fighting buddies. If someone else started a fight, it don't make it a free-for-all."
What the hell was wrong with this ghoul?

Amarus arched one pink brow, and then her face was smoothe and without a ripple of emotion: the surface of a body of water, wherein something dark lay dormant. "Yes, I am a first year; Yes, I am a ghost. I also have a considerably more even temper. So in short, not interested." Amarus had never turned down a suggestion to fight, before. However, she was completely disinterested in any fight where emotion was the spurring factor. That was not a true gauge of someone's skill, and she was not interested at all unless it was a worthwhile opponent and a tempting task.
"I am not sure what version of the story you heard, but I'd rather fight Danny again for her honour than trifle with you."
Amarus' voice was even, low and calm. Her aura flared low against her skin, the purple-pink flames licking her ghost skin. She closed her eyes briefly, inhaling, thinking, while her fingers formed the kuji-kiri for harmony. "I'm in this for fun, and I don't need to explain myself to you; I owe you nothing. So, if that is all, you can go back to Danny and likely never see me again."
Amarus took a step to the side, coiling her bound hair around one arm, and preparing to leave. This boil's temper would go one of two ways, wouldn't it? She'd either walk herself right into a fight, or he would thankfully realize that it was pointless to approach her with a desire for conflict. That was really not her style right now. She loved fighting, sure, but this guy was really worked up over something that had been for fun. Especially since she'd taken a hit in return, anyway... What was this boil's problem?
Hopefully he'd just get over himself and walk away.

"When the hunters come," Roch said quietly, unemotionally. In fact a little smile pulled at his lips as he looked at her. "If they catch you, I won't even glance at the cage they keep you in. I suggest you remember that fact someday when you know what the jack I'm talking about."
Then, just as she suggested, he walked away, forgetting that she ever existed.
