Now in her typical attire with her canvas bag along her shoulder and hip, Levi was right outside the doors of demon dorm. It had taken her awhile to judge whether she should just crawl in through West's window or actually use the door. His room was right on the first floor, so it wouldn't be all that difficult... she had done it before. This was different from that time though.
Looking down at her her hands, she remembered all that she did with Lizzy to make them; spookies. Sure- this wasn't the first batch of candy corn spookies she ever made or the first batch she'd given as a gift. It made her feel a certain level of unrecognizable delight to offer them to West this time though.
Can't wait to see his reaction, right? Oh, wouldn't it be wonderful if he asked you to go to Scarentines with him?❤
Ugh...
Her stomach whirled in knots like she was going to be sick again at the thought of West seeing her there. It was just like back in the woods. West might be feeling the same right now? The spookies would make him feel better, she thought. That's why she made them in the first place. These were "get well" spookies.
Pushing the door open with her tail and making her way through the halls, she recollected where West's room was from that time he had chased her all around; good times and a fond memory for her at his defeat to her. She had the ability to defeat him or make him stronger.
Contact will do that. ❤
Now she stood at his door. Curling the end of her tail under the dish to hold it and lifting a hand to the door, she knocked. Hopefully the wrath demon was in.

The demon was in. He was very in. He was so in that he hadn't left his room for three-and-a-half days. Everything seemed easier to deal with behind closed doors. His heart didn't race for no reason, he could form sentences without stuttering, he could think of things other than... her. Sometimes. The problem was, his room had a distinct lack of real food, and the boil quite liked to eat. He knew he didn't have to, strictly speaking, but that knowledge didn't stop his stomach from growling.
He had almost relented and ventured outside today. The gnomes working on remodeling his room weren't the usual morality-deprived heathens he was used to. Or actually, maybe they were. That was the problem, he supposed. Sex jokes and inane chatter about "hotties" currently left West more on edge than amused. In the end, instead of leaving himself, he had just kicked them all out for the day, huddling on his bed with Master and listening to the wind whistle through his broken window. At one point, he thought he heard someone shout, "I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU, AUBREY!" followed by a dull thud in the grass outside, but that might have just been a dream he'd had during one of the times he'd dozed off. If it really had happened, West supposed he felt kind of sorry for the guy. It seemed that quite a few people were having love troubles latel—
West was pulled from that thoroughly revelatory thought by a knocking at the door. Someone here? To see him? Maybe they had the wrong room. He was on his feet and heading toward the door before he could even think much about it. "Who's there?" he barked, peering through the peephole only after he had spoken. His heart lurched, his stomach dropped, and he suddenly felt like his knees weren't going to support him much longer. West made a small sound, somewhere between a sigh and a sob, and hoped that somehow she hadn't heard him.

The sound of his voice on the other side of this door- like a breath of fresh air. It's... Levi. Umm... it's been 'awhile. Ain't seen ya 'round. Feelin' okay? She hadn't seen him for the whole three days; no glimpse of the demon boil around the halls or anything. This was all further proof of him being possibly as sick as she was.
Wanna let me 'in?... I brought somethin' fer ya... Her tail perked up with the plate as if she'd give it to the door itself. A plate of spookies with a clear covering revealed the tiny chocolate chunks and candy corn bits used in this particular batch.

s**t. She'd heard. It had admittedly been kind of stupid to hope that she hadn't, but West had been doing so with everything in him. If he'd had any doubts at all before now, they were gone. He could never see Levi face-to-face again.
West tried to clearly recall when all of this had started. He knew something had happened while they had been training, but that entire day seemed kind of muddied now. Was this how these things happened? He thought he'd had strong feelings for Duerre once, but they were nothing compared to this. He shook his head. It just didn't seem normal. What was going on?
He found himself reaching for the doorknob without thinking, but when he saw his shaky hand, he pulled it back against his stomach and grabbed at his t-shirt to keep the traitorous appendage anchored there. "No, I, um, I've been sick. Gettin' better though." Until you showed up. "Dun wanna get you sick, so you should go." He tried to chuckle knowingly, but it sounded more like a dry cough.

Oh dear, to refuse such a gift he must be VERY ill. Certainly someone should check on him.❤
The voice had a point. At the very least, she needed to see him to verify his condition was getting better. If he thought she would just up and leave so easily, he had another thing coming. The tatzel would get inside however she could. If that's what ya think, West~ Her voice was friendly; oddly so. I'll see ya 'round!...the corner. Indeed, the white-haired ghoul went out of sight from West's doorway but wound up outside again and at his window.
With nothing more than curtains covering her path, Levi carefully slide through the window pane, tail shifting the dish over into one of her arms to help her silently enter the room. With the boost of her tail from outside to inside, Levi's feet hit the floor as quietly as she could manage.
Sure enough, over on the bed was West. On further observation, his room as a whole did look different from the last time she had been there. A few paces closer to him, she grinned and spoke to announce her arrival. Sure looks like 'a whole other room yer makin' ere.

At first he refused to believe that his horribly obvious ruse had actually worked, but when he looked back through the peephole a minute later, she was gone. Somehow that stung, that she hadn't cared enough to persist. The boil shook his head. He was not dwelling on this. He was not pouting over Levi. He was going to get back in bed and sleep until he wasted away or whatever this was fixed itself somehow.
When she called out to him, his back was to her and he was already halfway burritoed in a blanket. He nearly jumped out of his skin.
"Jackdammit," he snarled, turning to face her and scooting backward as quickly as he had the time he had woken up in her room. When his hand met open air behind him, he turned again, swinging his legs onto the floor and rising to his feet. At least the bed was between them now.
He held out his hand, palm forward. "I tol' you. Y'really dun want what I got." His gaze strayed to the plate she held. In his surprise at her presence, he hadn't really noticed the spookies when he'd first seen her on the other side of the door, but now... He was really hungry. West's outstretched hand dropped slightly, then combed back through his messy hair. "Yeah, I, um... after the bird came through'ere I thought it'd be good t'remodel." Don't talk to her. Get her out of here! "So, everythin' good with you?" ...after I touched your cheek for no good reason in the middle of the forest?

Well atta boil, West. That's usin' yer speed. Levi had to laugh at his, once again, display of outstanding reaction time. When he lept frm the bed and other the other side of it, the tatzel's first thought was to climb over it to him.
Tilting her head at his "halt" hand motion, she didn't. But it was a close one. Plus, it wasn't very nice to bring food into someone else's bed. Oh yea. Right! Fergot 'bout that part. kekekeke~ Ya'll comin' over lookin' like heck in'a hole. Never seen ya'lookin' so dirty.
Wow, he was able to just rebuild at the drop of a hat like this. West must've had a whole lot of silver. Then again, it seemed most demons did; Lizzy could produce fabric for her dresses, shoes and accessories like they came out of thin air. Oh, I'm just fit as 'a fiddle n' things 're goin' right 'long. I made these for you and heard about Scarentines.
Ask if he'll go with you! Maybe he's too sick to ask himself.❤
First things first: these spookies should be eaten wile they were still fresh from the previous day. Peering around and maneuvering her way around the bed, Levi concluded that there was no kitchen counter to place the spookies. Don't look like ya'got much a food 'round 'ere. 'Nless yer kitchen's on tha' roof. She laughed because this was obviously a very clever joke on her part. I... I brought ya somethin' that I guess'll work out just fine. Don't know how ya'll been dealin' with bein' sick without eaten' nothin'... Now Levi was in his personal space, peeling back the wrapping on the plate.
Try them, try them, try them, try them~❤
Something came over her in a split second's time, causing the ghoul to pick one of the spookies up with her fingers and offer it up to West's mouth. C'mon... have 'a bite.
...what?!

It seemed as though she was actually going to listen to him and stay...nope. She was on his side of the bed in an instant, and short of backing through the sheet of plastic that separated his new kitchen from the rest of the room or claiming he suddenly had to use the bathroom, West was stuck right where he stood.
He frowned at first, brushing at the front of his shirt. Dirty? West wasn't vain—okay, he was... sometimes—but he wasn't... dirty, was he? Unkempt, maybe. Or disheveled. Like a man. Mannishly. Roguishly disheve... Hm. When he realized that she had moved on, that she really didn't seem to care what he had on or the fact that his hair looked as if it was trying to defy gravity, West suddenly found his appearance less than important as well. He gestured toward the plastic hanging behind him.
"Kitchen's bein' made," he replied, a faint smile raising the corners of his mouth as she laughed. "An' y'didn't hafta..." His stomach let out a lengthy growl as Levi uncovered the spookies, but his thoughts were on her. She was so close...
"They look... really good," West breathed. He wasn't looking at the spookies. "Um..." His eyes darted over to her gift. "Guess I could..."
He leaned toward her hand so slowly it seemed he would never get there, and when he finally took a bite, his face was still turned slightly away from her. Hey. It was good! He chewed and swallowed, a mildly dopey smile lifting his lips. West wanted to take the rest of the spookie she held, to take a damn handful of spookies, to reach out and brush that lock of hair away from her cheek... Instead, he took a step back, threading his fingers together in front of him so that his hands would remain still. "'t's good. I, uh, you can leave 'em'here." And go. Please, go. "You're prob'ly already sick. I tol' you t'stay away."

His reaction to the spookie was Levi's first indication that West had indeed needed her there. That, and that the boil clearly was brightened by what she made for him. If Levi's eyes could glisten with her delight, they would be doing so right about now.The ghoul didn't back away from her close quarters position; she'd been close enough to feel that growl. His lack of a working kitchen apparently was effecting his eating; the boil wasn't one to frequent the cafeteria, she gathered. Levi preferred to make candy corn coated foods that brought home to mind, so she could relate to wanting to make ones own food. Her fire pit was sufficient enough for all her barbecuing needs.
Being sick might have something to do with it as well- but... she hadn't locked herself away; Levi made the spookies with Lizzy without much trouble... just the occasional stomach ache when she thought of giving West her spookies. Was there further reasoning for West locking himself away? Well, he was rebuilding his dorm. Perhaps he was simply lacking the time to properly take care of his hunger needs.
Success! See? Contact and your food- it's helping! You should stay with him. Make sure he's getting better.❤
Contact... comfort. Was he really feeling as comforted as she was just being like this?
Boil, if I'm already sick then this 'ere'd be tha best place fer me ta'be. Don't wanna go infectin' nobody else, eh? Levi tried to keep eye contact even as West tried to turn away, tilting her head and offering him the rest of the bitten cookie to take.
Her tail came forward and took the plate, allowing Levi use of both hands again. Her first movement? A hand finding itself at West's chin, brushing at the bristles of hair. To the ghoul, it was a simple gesture to go along with her remark. Yer 'bout as rough as 'em boils back home. Gonna keep like this fer tha ceremony? Ya know...
...
Scarentines?

West didn't really do much in the way of cooking for himself, so in order to eat, he really did have to leave the room, which he most certainly hadn't. He quickly snatched the rest of the spookie from her, shoving it in his mouth with one hand while halfheartedly batting at hers with the other.
"Hey, I said..." he began, muttering around crumbs of food. "'m not like..." Wait. Unlike the comparisons she had made between him and her tatzelwurm brethren in the past, this one seemed approving, almost complimentary. Ghouls were... confusing. Always had been. His train of thought briefly ground to a halt when she mentioned Scarentine's, his brow crinkling in confusion. Did she want...? No, she couldn't...
The pleasant flavor of spookies that coated the inside of his mouth suddenly went bad. West took a step back, blinking at the ghoul with a certain measure fear in his eyes, as if she could force him to attend. Last year. That auction. Dancing with Holly. Dancing with Yaya. Ridiculous. Embarrassing. He didn't want to go through any of that again.
"N...no," he replied a little too quickly. "I mean, I wasn't gonna go. Parties'n things. I don't do 'em." West shook his head. Never mind that she had seen him at prom. The boil almost slapped his palm against his forehead.

Whenever West moved away, she moved in closer, sporting a puzzled look. She didn't keep to this expression since as soon as he spoke again, her lips just automatically curled back into a small smile. Whaddaya mean, ya'don't? I saw ya... Oh yes, she remembered West winning the dancing contest. The boil hadn't danced much that night but of when he did, she could clearly picture it. Jericho had been her companion to that ceremony and he won right along with the wrath demon.
West had the means to dance like he fought: in a hard and unyielding manner. The tatzel didn't know many boils her age who freely danced in public besides Mot, the cowboil, so it was a positive note in favor of the demon boil.
You could ask him to dance! ❤
But he wasn't going? Or at least, it seemed like he had no plans on going.
Don't tell me ya ain't got nothin' ta wear. Can't be tha'reason. Levi peered around for what could possibly be a closet. West not having something fancy enough seemed unthinkable given his usual dress was fancy by her standards. Even got somethin' new maself! Since ma' other dress was wre- you cut it up.
Now Levi took her own step back. She was neutral to his act of retaliation given he had promised to make amends properly but at that moment, it stung to remember he had done it. Did her looking ghouly repulse him? Lizzy had said it wasn't against any rules to go to this occasion in simple clothing, but dresses were something expected still, she thought. Like prom, if the tatzel ghoul was going to participate, it should be fitting in respect of the ceremony. mm... I think. Might be good ta' go just fer shown'- support? West would likely claim he didn't care about that. Levi found herself trying to voice a way of tell West to join her there... but she couldn't.
...anywho. I'm goin'. Think it'sa good idear. Never been ta' no Scarentines b'fore. Maybe I'll meet some folk n' have a bit'a fun with'em. kekeke.
She meant possible games.

After having done nothing but push closer and closer for so long, West was relieved when Levi moved away. Relieved and, well, not relieved. A little sad, actually. Ashamed. He knew she was probably thinking about the dress he had ruined, and for a brief moment he wished he hadn't done so. Why had he done it? Right. He had done it because she had tricked him... twice... and he wanted to return the favor. He would never actually forget that, even if it was a little difficult for him to concentrate on right now. He drew in a deep breath.
"Yeah, um. Guess I'ave gone t'parties'ere." He sighed and rolled his eyes ever so slightly. "An' I got plenny t'wear. I'm jus' not goin't'this party. 'Cause uh the sick." If everyone at Amityville caught what he had they would have more to worry about than rogue teachers and disappearing students.
West wanted to see this new dress she planned to wear, as ridiculous as the desire sounded in his head. He could only vaguely recall what the one he had shredded had looked like when Levi had worn it, but he seemed to remember ribbon and a lot of white. Another pang of regret struck him and he suppressed a shiver in its wake. Leaning slightly closer to the ghoul again, West plucked the plate of spookies away from her tail and carefully perched it on his left palm. "I think... uh... y'should... have fun? Yeah. Go an' have fun." Without me. "And thanks. Fer the spookies." Please. Go.

He took the plate from her but was also straight forward about his choice- he wasn't going. Levi had just finished telling West that she was probably sick like he was, but he didn't feel the need to keep her there with him. You know, to keep their sickness to themselves. If it was fine for her to go, why couldn't they go and be sick together? It was a bit of a hit to her enthusiasm over the occasion; he didn't want her there with him now and he didn't want to see her later either. West just didn't want to see her. She could take a hint... even with all her contact, he hadn't budged on the subject. Already thanking her was like showing her the door. It's okay. I can do that myself.Oh. Her expression completely shifted. her tail fell low to the floor and her ears folded. The white appendage snaked from be hid as Levi walked to the door. As if her eyes faded in color, Levi looked at the boil while opening the door. She wasn't feeling especially well right now, so using her usual window entrance wasn't an option. Yeah. Umm. Guess I'll just- see ya'round then... glad yer eatin'. Just as abruptly as she left, the ghoul flattened her back against the other side of West's dorm door as soon as she closed it behind her. That was hard on her. But she'd go anyways; the tatzel was already going through things she should have done in her head to try and persuade him further but in the end, it wasn't what he wanted. If West wasn't wanting to go of his own free will, there was nothing more she could do. Her chest hurt inside and her knees threatened to give out right there in the hallway. Opting to flee, Levi took off down the hall. Scarentines- she would go anyway just to show her support. But not to completely enjoy herself anymore; that seemed impossible.

As soon as she had gone, West dropped the plate of spookies onto his bed and rushed over to the door. He froze in place several feet away, his mind now clear enough to recognize that it would be a really bad idea to go any further. His limbs still rebelled, however, trembling as he kept them from doing so. When West finally turned back to the bed, he muttered a few choice expletives at the sight of the crumbs now spread across his mattress.
A short time and a lot of angry sweeping later, the demon sat at his desk, dejectedly chewing on a spookie. They really were quite good. Too bad he wasn't enjoying it nearly as much as he might have if his mind hadn't been occupied with unpleasantness.
Could he go after all? Had last year's Scarentine's dance really been that horribly awkward? (Yes.) Shrugging off his perfectly justified reluctance, West picked up his eyePhone from where it rested on the desk in front of him and searched his contacts for the number of his father's tailor.
"Hey, uh, Kerrit? Y'got any time t'make like a red vest'r somethin'? Fer Scarentine's, yeah..."
