Shoshana finished the morning rounds of checking the boarders. Satisfied that everything seemed to be in good care and no tracks out of the ordinary had been found, she wandered out to the small open area that seemed to serve as a meeting area for herself and Renesme when they'd come across one another. She wasn't really looking for anyone just taking a stroll. Magic padded by her side, staying close as the small mare stepped out into the open and stopped for a short moment, wearily looking around as she did. So far the coast seemed clear even the skies seemed void of clouds which was a bit of a relief. Danger sometimes came on wings, she'd learned this the hard way.

After making sure everybody had started on their jobs there seemed to be no sort of discord in his herd lands. He headed on out of his herd lands coving his tracks as he went, he didn't want anyone to follow him out. Around these parts he most often wandered freely, he did not destroy or disturb anything in anyone else's territory but he did smile when unknowing faces came charging at him not knowing who he was when in fact he had been around a long time before them. Before the big boom, before everyone moved in, had children and got busy. Things used to be more peaceful. Now all he could do was learn to live with it.
Akuba's ears perked as her turned to the sound of walking hooves on the grass. The sound was small but still audible, it couldn't be a big creature, the steps were small but he could sense that in the walk a quiet confidence was injected. He followed the sound still covering his own tracks, he'd been out for hours, it was never strange for him to be up and out before the crack of dawn. His sharp old eyes saw a small figure with a bear following along side it...he looked at the red roses, the long mane and tail. He had no idea of how a soquili could cope without dirt and tangles, hair like that would take an army. That's why in recent years he had kept his mane long, but cut his tail hairs just a little bit. He needed to weave away from enemies. He'd learnt this best upon the arrival of Keii all those years ago.
He was just hoping that she wasn't the sort of mare who would freak out over him appearing out of nowhere. He was sure he was out of her ear's shot but who knows. He wouldn't until she turned...or not.

Her ears flicked and her attention drew to the bear beside her. Named after a type of rose, magic was known to have a bit of a thorny side when it came to strangers slinking about. A small smile on her maw, she reached down and nudged the bear, trying to coax a bit of ease into her companion as she made her way further into the open area. "Magic.. the coast is clear.. I don't think You'll have to keep such a guarding stance." Her voice was warm, soft and sweet like that of a mother's in attempt to sooth a child.
Turning, she looked behind her, a small habit she'd gained since her own foals had been young, making sure she'd been let to roam along on her own for some time. Her mind had weighed heavily over the past few months. The safety of the herd was still in a balance hanging by a thread. She had few friends in this life and of those, only one belonged to another herd. She hadn't even gotten a chance to talk to Renesme and ask if it might possibly be all right to visit her herd, to get to know her neighbors and even possibly talk to the leader. The other thing weighing on her mind was that though her family was growing within these lands, she couldn't shake the thought of the family she left behind, her dreams had been plagued by fuzzy faces and memories and this walk she felt might just do her some good.

Akuba eyed up the black blear and then his eyes flickered back to the mare. 'Who are you?' He thought. 'I must know you, or atleast your family...' Just in her walk he could tell she wasn't a stranger to these lands. He'd now stepped into neutral territories so he got his pace up to a gallop and made sure he was a good distance from her and her bear and circled round the front of them like a sheep dog. "Good day!" He bellowed.
He stopped a good distance in front of them and waited for them to catch up, he knew this looked suspicious but he didn't care much. He knew the entrance seemed a little flamboyant and he wasn't going for that but he was interested and would rather not get mauled by a bear by no fault of his own.

Magic stepped in front of her dear friend, a look of caution on her face that bluntly stated she wasn't so sure this new comer was to be trusted. "Madam, I think Perhaps you should be cautious..." She risked a glance back at Shoshana though one eye some how seemed to remain on the strange stallion.
Shoshana smiled at magic once more. "We'll see but than you for your caution, my friend." She flicked her long tail, nudging magic to follow her as she stepped around the bear and drew closer to the stallion, stopping a short distance away, not so close as to make her in harms way but not so far that she'd have to yell. "Hello. Nice day isn't it?" She offered a friendly smile and kicked her mane to the side as she shook her head to toss it out of her way a bit better.
Her posture was one of ease though she'd learned along her time here that even an eased posture didn't mean she couldn't flee. She'd already seen to it that her mane wouldn't get caught under her should she flee should this meeting turn out to be a disaster. "What brings you out this day? Wandering?" She was prying for some notion of his intent, though he did seem a bit familiar to her some how.

Akuba's eyes followed the bear calmly, it seemed the bear was more cautious than him, or so it'd seem from another point of view, to him it seemed best to appear calm where possible, especially around strangers.Maybe he was a fool for approaching strangers, but you don't get if you don't ask and you cannot make friends if you keep yourself to yourself one hundred percent of the time.
Akuba's ears perked when he herd a kind but firm feminine voice, he smiled with a single nod,"it is madam", he quickly glanced up to the clouds and then back to her accompanying friend, he addressed her in this way upon over hearing her friend speak. He regarded her soft long mane and tail. 'Flowers. A lover of nature perhaps?' He thought to himself. Flickered a glance to the ladies own pale eyes much paler than his own but still they showed kindness and a sense of warmth, he bowed to the lady and returned to his previous stance,"it's a pleasure to meet you both. My name is Akuba and you may be as cautious as much as you like because in this world, it can be one of the wisest attributes to have. May I ask who you two are?"
He thought he'd seen them around before and now that they were talking it was a good opportunity to find some more things out about his neighbours. The mare was indeed smaller than her and although tending to the task at hand Akuba could see her mind was elsewhere too. "Just a fine day for a wander. I'm surveying the lands as I keep a good detailed map of who's territories are where and what not. I also look at what needs fixing and where new vegetation should be planted. Spring is arriving soon and I want to help things on their way. You're from around here right?" It wasn't really a question although it sounded like it, now looking at her he knew he'd seen her.

She chuckled lightly, an almost melodious sound, one holding the warmth of spring it's self in a single tone. "It's a pleasure meeting you, Akuba. The patrolling black bundle of caution here's Magic, an I'm Shoshana." She smiled warmly, a warmth that touched her eyes as much as it spread through her face. "Caution's indeed a good thing to have, I agree.. Especially with the knowledge of the occasional kalona or Skinwalker roaming and wandering with malice on their minds..."
She watched him closely for a moment longer before finally relaxing a bit more. Magic seemed to key off of her ease as she took to looking about idly as the two spoke, finally deciding to lounge out on her belly while she kept watch over both mare and stallion. "It's indeed a lovely day.. Actually I had just finished checking the boarders of my own territory so I had come in search of a friend, She belongs to a near by herd but it would seem that she isn't anywhere to be found today." She eyed the ground some remembering the last time she'd seen Renesme and another bright warm smile formed. Looking back at Akuba, she chuckled more to herself for her wandering mind than anything. "I've lived in the area for a good few years... I've a small herd but it's a warm friendly one. You sound like my grandson though.. He's always trying to fix things... More making things than planting though.. It'll be nice to see the place in bloom once more. I'm looking forward to the primroses blooming."

Akuba looked to the black bear with a friendly expression...or atleast what he thought was a friendly expression. "It is nice to meet you both", Akuba's eyes flashed back to the mare when she mentioned the two most dangerous breeds of Soquili known to everyone,"Ah...yes. They do turn up every now and again but I help them on their way", he nodded once solemnly, half in thought, in truth he'd been saving his daughters and grandchildren from the monsters, but in doing so he'd gained five new enemies, 4 skin walkers and a very scary looking Soquili with an axe and a bunny costume. Right now things were not safe and he knew nothing would be entirely safe.
"I thought I'd seen you around. I do believe I have your herdlands on my map but no name to it yet. May I ask the name of your herd? My map helps to keep track of who's coming and going and who lives where." Akuba had now lived in the same place for as long as he could literally remember. "I have been here for a long time now. Having friends and family pass through my life, it's only just now I've made my herd official. I'm really hoping I don't lose them, I've lost family before. It's not a good experience, it makes you bitter." Akuba lost himself for a short moment in his thoughts and the returned back to the world in which both he and the mare stood.
"Oh I'm sorry. I'm sure she's somewhere. The only herds I'm allied with is Moonglade and the Miakoda herd. I have family ties in both",Akuba listed to the younger mare and was surprised she was a grandmother, so much so he almost said wow, but again he didn't let anything get past him. He didn't much like being compared to people's grandchildren because they were so much younger and in experienced, but maybe he did give off the vibe of a younger person although it's not how he felt. "I like to learn about the land and it's people, but along the way is it so bad to help? I'm a master teepee builder so I do make things too. I am trying to help succession on it's way, this winter hasn't been as harsh but it still takes it's toll. I want to see a nice bloom this year. I can't say I'm one who knows a lot about flowers but looking at you I'm assuming you do. Is my assumption correct?"

"Don't get me wrong... I've seen some who aren't as... malicious as others of their breed.. two to be exact.. But even one of those two I'm sure if she wasn't on such a friendly term with me she could surely and easily make a dangerous enemy...." She trailed off thinking of Evi a moment. What had made her so different to Eviotil so as to consider her friend instead of Foe? Had she just had a weakness for a lost mare that many winters ago? Shaking her head she shoved the thought aside, deciding not to probe and ask too many questions. Evi had never once raised a wing towards her or her family, in fact Evi had kept a watchful eye over her daughter, from a distance of course, when she had ran off with Rakshii as a young adult.
"We are the herd of Primrose and Hope..." She chuckled some. "Not the most inventive name I suppose.. but We do rather like the roses.. and Hope.. well I guess you could say It's because I hold hope for the future. The loss of family isn't an experience I think very fondly on.. I've lost some of my own at a young age.. Not to an attack.. I more or less wandered off. Some day though.. I'm sure I'll see them again.. Or at least I can always hope."
Her ears perked as she ran over the other herd's names a moment. "Miakoda.. I think that's the herd Renesme belongs to..." She nodded more sure of herself than anything. "Oh... I didn't mean to imply you were a young sprout mind you... He's just.. eccentric.. Crafty. You give him a task to build and he;ll fall over backwards to get it done. Goodness knows where he got it from..." She chuckled again. "His sisters once told him they wanted to fly like a friend of their mother's... it took him near all of his foalhood to figure out.. but in the end he put together a crude contraption that's allow them to glide should they jump from a hill top. I suppose it's nothing like flying.. but he did want so very much to give his sisters what they wanted." She had a look of fondness as she spoke of her grand kids. "This winter really was rather mild.. I have to admit it myself. Though.. I'm good with some plants.. Roses are more fond of my care than some of the others... But I suppose everyone has the specialties..."
Something her grand daughter recently told her drifted back into her mind the more she thought. "My grand daughter said she'd had a run in with a young catwalker... Granted both she and it were foals.. I'd wager if it's been here once it's reasonable to think it might turn up again... I figure I'd let you know.."
