So... he owed Hel a Christmastival gift, and it'd been over a few weeks already, so he really--REALLY needed to find something, Roch had decided. That's why, early in the morning, he suddenly emerged from his closet, looking a bit battered. He held in his hand a tiny little poof of fluff--where it had come from, he honestly had no clue, but it'd been in his closet, so it was his!
Well, possibly his. It was close enough to his that he headed up to her dorm room, knocking on it briefly, only to belatedly realize she could, possibly, NOT be alone. Ew. Jack, he REALLY didn't want to walk in on her and Mot--

Luckily for Roch, unluckily for Hel, Mot was not that sort of boil. No. Her boilfriend was a serious prude.
Thus, as Hel opened the door, the punk would be relieved to see that it was just her. The reaper blinked for a moment before she recognized who was standing at her door, and then grinned. “Oh! Hello, Roch!” The valkyrie greeted, eyeing the fluff he had in his hands curiously. “How is it going friend…and uh…what is that?” She pointed at it as well.

Roch lifted the fluff, looking at it blankly for a moment. "Pretty sure it's a foxfire," he said finally, holding it out to her. "It's your Christmastival gift!" he added, almost proudly. "I got... well, no clue what it'll look like," he admitted.

Hel had, admittedly, never seen a fox fire in its earlier stages before, so this was news to her. “It…is?” She echoed, peering down at it curiously. It…didn’t even have eyes! How odd.
Hel blinked more. “…O..oh! It is?” After a moment her hands came out to accept the little thing of fuzz…well…it felt like a foxfire…At the moment, actually, Hel was a little uncertain and shocked. She never imagined she’d get another pet…but…who was she to turn down Roch’s gift? She liked fox fires! After a moment, the valkyrie grew excited, and now grinned widely as she cradled the little thing of fuzz in her hands. “Well, thank you friend! I am eager to see what coloring it was grow into…now I will need to name it too…” The valkyrie gave a thoughtful hum, staring down at it.
“Ah…why don’t you come in? I have some beef jerk if you want something to snack on…and apple cider as well!”

"I was hopin' you would ask that!" he said, grinning widely. "I ran out of food last night, I gotta call my granddad's lady, see if she can get me some more. Monica's a bit of a ditz, but she's obsessed with makin' sure I'm fed. THAT rocks," he explained as he went in. He was clearly happy to talk about at least one member of his family.
"So how was your Christmastival? After the whole... deal with my dad?"

“You…ran out of food?” The valkyrie echoed skeptically, and then tucked the ball of fuzz into the front pocket of her apron carefully. It’d be safe there, really, while she went about her business and thought of a name for it.
The ghoul closed the door after Roch entered, and then made her way over to the kitchen. “Well…if you are missing food, then I will give you some stew any some beef jerky then.” With that in mind, Hel went about preparing him a bowl for right now, and dug out a bag of beef jerky as well, placing it on the counter. “Hmmm? Oh! It was fine.” Hel smiled a bit. “Mot and I exchanged gifts on Christmastival Eve…after the whole…you know.” Hel made a vague hand motion. “Earlier on Christmastival day I spent it with Mot as well…writing….guh…” She made a sour face. “After our time at Wallow-Mart, I simply returned here and just spent the rest of the evening weaving…it was a fine day. How about you?”

"Well, somehow Danny met my granddad," Roch said with a strange expression. "Which was REALLY strange, cuz it looks like she actually likes the guy." He shook his head, still a bit bothered by that idea. "Course that DOES explain why every time we went somewhere he wound up surrounded by ghouls," he decided. "After that things went back to normal, sort of."
He thought about the Taryn problem with her family, then decided not to. It was her own story to tell. "But at least now I got a quick and easy way to put myself to sleep!"

Hel didn’t exactly understand why it was so strange…so she just took Roch’s word for it. She hadn’t met his grandfather yet though…and she couldn’t help but wonder if he was different than his father or not. Hopefully he was. Hel still didn’t like Austin, obviously.
“Oh?” The Valkyrie echoed curiously. “How is that?” Once the bowl of stew was done heating in the microwave, she placed it in front of the punk reaper, along with a spoon. Afterwards she leaned against the counter, though her brows soon knitted as she felt something wiggle in her apron pocket. What the…
The ghoul peered into her apron pocket, and let out a startled gasp. “ROCH!” Hel nearly screeched, her fingers immediately reaching into the pocket, and she pinched a tuft of fur. Upon withdrawing the wiggling thing, Hel produced a baby foxfire, complete with its little closed eyes and paws. Not only that…it was…pretty pink…and rainbow-y. “IT GREW!”

Roch almost choked on his stew. He stared at the pink poof, his eyes wide with surprise. It was so... so... "Pinky!" he said, before bursting into laughter. "Oh jack, that's just so--it's so--" He grabbed his stomach he was laughing so hard. "It's so CUTE!" he told her, dying over the word. The idea of this ball kicking hellion having a fluffy rainbow poof pet--

Hel and the word ‘cute’ usually didn’t get along…but she would admit she’d apply it to certain things…like foxfires…Xiu…Mitsu…and Mot…only when she was trolling the cowboil though. Yes…this foxfire was pretty cute…but the way Roch was laughing…it was mocking. Thus Hel cradled the little foxfire to her bosom with a dark hand, and made a fist with her fair one.
Her brows furrowed and a scowl crossed her face as she reached out and socked Roch right in the back of the head.

"Son of a--What was that for??" Roch demanded. "Look, I'll take it back to the closet and get you one more... tough looking, or somethin," he told her, reaching for the floof. "Cuz cute and pink don't really suit you, y'know? Maybe I should slip it into Xiu's room or somethin," he said with a shrug.

If Roch thought the punch to the back of the head hurt, the raging b***h slap Hel delivered on the hand reaching for her little fluff was ten times worse.
“You gave him to me! He is mine now!” The Valkyrie snapped, even going so far as to angle her body away from the offending hand to protect the little fluff, snuggling it even more into her bosom. Seems like someone just developed raging maternal and protective instincts. Really, could you blame her though? The little fluff just looked so helpless…and it was really cute.

"Ouch," Roch muttered, waving his hand a few times to get rid of the sting. "Okay, okay, he's yours," he said, holding up both hands. "Trust me, I will never again try to separate you and Pinky Pie again," he swore, reaching up and rubbing the back of his head. "Jack, I don't gotta ask whether you like it or not," he drawled.

“His name is not Pinky Pie.” Hel stressed, and now used both of her hands to cradle the little fluff ball, which was making itself right at home snuggling on her chest. It was a very smart fox fire.
But hmmm…what should she name him (Hel didn’t even know if it was truly a male, she just assumed, don’t ask)? The Valkyrie hummed thoughtfully, running her thumbs over the soft fur. You know, in her culture, there was a gate keeper who supposedly was in charge of a rainbow bridge (stfu only real boils could guard rainbow bridges with honor)…and that seemed like a really fitting name since the fox fire was rainbow colored…
“His name is Heimdall.”

He liked pinky pie better, but he'd been hit enough that he knew better than to mention it. Instead he started chomping down, worried that she'd take his food next. He wasn't sure what'd gotten into her, but at least she liked his gift, unlike Danny, who'd freaked out over hers.
"This is great," he mentioned. "Seriously tasty."
