Isaac reached the safe house feeling tired all the way down to his bones. He put his bike a short distance away, in case he had to get away quickly, and covered it with a tarp to hide it. By this point, he was well aware of the fact that he was working on autopilot, but he felt reasonably safe doing so.

He was able to the safe house using the key that all agents were provided with. A quick glance around told him that, while the building hadn't been used recently, someone had been there not too long ago to tidy up. Dropping his helmet and suitcase near the door, he flopped down on the couch and drifted off to a deep, dreamless slumber.

When he woke, it was late in the morning. He felt refreshed from the sleep, but somewhat detached as well. Somehow, a part of him felt that this couldn't possibly be real. How could Aaron be dead? They'd just been talking a few days ago about how he should find a wife for himself. Isaac shook the thought away and pushed himself up to his feet.

Trying to concentrate on anything but what had happened the night before, he meandered into the bathroom and stripped out of his clothes. He supposed that his producer would probably be worried about him, but he couldn't call anyone. It would go against protocol and might put him in even greater danger.

He turned on the water and stepped into the cold spray without even letting it get up to temperature. The shock was enough to chase the last of his drowsiness and soon, the young agent stepped out of the bath feeling ready to face a new day.

Isaac pulled clean clothes out of his suitcase and dressed, then he grabbed the tube his partner had given him the night before. He opened it and wasn't at all surprised to find a small tube, this one of solid metal, with small projections out that came out of one end. Smirking, he turned on the computer and plugged the device in. A few moments later, all the information had been down downloaded into the computer and Isaac began printing out the documents.

While the printer went to work, Isaac padded into the kitchen and checked to see what he could eat for breakfast. In a few moments, he had put a kettle on for tea and had found a can of sliced pears. It wasn't much, but it would be enough for breakfast.

He finished the pears in short order and then took his tea into the room where the computer had just finished printing the documents his partner had died to give him. He scanned through the documents one time and then scowled. Just as he'd begun reading the first page again a window shattered and the bolt from a crossbow imbedded itself in the chair near his shoulder.

"Ah," Isaac hissed, dropping the papers and clutching his arm. It stung, having obviously been nicked by the bolt. He looked up at the shattered window and cursed softly. Grabbing the papers, he held them against his chest as he shoved his arms into the sleeves of his jacket.

Another window shattered and Isaac dove out of the way, grabbing his helmet and rolling up to his feet. "Come on," he growled in frustration. He couldn't imagine how they'd found him, but he didn't really care at that point either. He grabbed the cell out of his bag and shoved into his pocket; then he dropped his helmet on his head and bolted for the back door.

He had just pulled the tarp of his motorcycle when he heard the front door crash open. Without waiting another moment, he hopped on and kicked it into gear, heading toward the road at top speed. He barely missed colliding with a car that was parked at the end of the drive and he heard the discharge of a lightning gun behind him as he turned the corner.

"Now what do I do?" he grumbled. He needed someplace where he could think, where he could go over the information without being disturbed. Suddenly, an idea occurred to him. With his heart pounding in his ears, Isaac turned his bike back towards North Lake.
