I know that people like wrapping their tarot cards in black silk/satin or keeping them in a wooden box, but what do you do with a set of runes? Do you use a bag made of natural fibres, a wooden box or something else?
The reason I bring this up is because I was in a bookshop and saw a pack of runestones (made from crappy plastic) in a bag made from nylon and I was just wondering as to what the traditional storage for runes is.

There isn't one, because runes as items that you keep aren't really traditional. At least, we don't have any information in that area.
Keep 'em in what you like. A plastic lunch box, a paper bag, the skull of your fallen enemy...
I just keep my tarot cards in the box they came in. I think the "must be black silk" thing is a bit silly. I mean that stuff came out of a worm's bottom.

Rightio...it's just that I felt that for something with so much history behind them (as opposed to the tarot cards as we know them today) that runestones might be given a little more dignity than being made out of plastic and stuffed into a nylon bag.
My tarot cards are in a little box I got as a gift...

According to the Germania runes (or something like them at least) are to be read on white linen cloth, but there's not a lot of other info out there. Personally, I made a red leather bag for my set, as red is a color traditionally associated with runes.

Ok well that sounds much more diginified (and traditional) than a nylon bag.
