Article Headline: "Haunted" house leaves three dead.
* D class difficulty level (you can run this mission solo or with a group/team)
*Article contents: Three teenagers were last seen exploring a "haunted" house close to an abandoned asylum. All of them are reported as missing, there has been no trace of their bodies or remains of their bodies nearby.
MECHANICS

* MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 3A. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Each player must roll at least three times with rped reactions. Once they have "collected enough information", they can return back and submit a report in this thread.
1- 20: The "house", which is really a shack, is patrolled by police. You are stalled as you look around, having to hide a bit as you don't really want to get spotted/caught.
21 - 40: You notice the windows have been shattered, all of the windows even. There seems to be a strange black ichor around the windows.
41 - 60: The inside of the shack is nothing ordinary, it is just really, a single room. You can't help but notice however, that outside the windows, you can see the looming outline of the old white asylum building, though it has been closed down, it seems ominous.
61 - 80: There are grave markers scattered outside the shack, closer towards the asylum. Each grave marker has no name on it.
81- 100: Something catches your eyes for a second - you look towards the abandoned asylum further in the distance, and for a second you swear you can see someone, or something, standing there...

* 2 mission reward points for completing this successfully

Hi! I'm going on a mission and might need some help. Care to join me? - Ami.

Ami stood at the end of the corridor waiting anxiously for her mission partner to show up. She had no idea who this "Dakota" was- she didn't even know if it was a boy or girl. Ami had simply run her finger down a list of moon hunters and picked one. Honestly, she just kept picturing Dakota Fanning walking up to her in a hunter's robe saying "Hey it's time to go!"

... Somehow Ami didn't think that was how it was going to go down.

< Can't we just go by ourselves? It's a haunted house and stuff right? That sounds so fun! >

How could a haunted house ever be fun? It's all just smoke and mirrors after all."

< Clearly you haven't been to a halloween haunted house ... >

Is that a problem?

< Well no- >

Shush.

Ami tapped her foot anxiously. If this "Dakota" didn't show up soon, she really might have to do it by herself. Ugh. Haunted houses ... were not her favorite place in the world.

His phone beeped just as he finished his stretching, Chama laid on his bed with a soft dull flame spreading out and in, like she was sleeping...or resting. Whatever.

Flipping open his phone, he clicked the text message before shrugging. It wasn't uncommon for Trainee's to get text messages from strangers...Hell he had sent a few to the moon trainee's he had never met.

On my way.~

Short crisp and to the point. Tugging on his hunter jacket, he flipped Chama into her sheath before heading out to the meeting point.

He whistled as he walked, tucking his hands in the pocket before catching sight of a hunter waiting. Probably his partner for the mission and the mysterious text message sender.

And she was a pretty little thing too.

"Hello there." Dakota smiled at her, "I don't often get asked to blind dates often..." He joked before shrugging, "What's the information Little lady? And how can I help you?" He studied her more, surprised that she too, wore the Moon hunter symbol on her coat.

Again, He had missed newcomers into his division and that made him sad. Especially when they were girls.

He tuned her out. He was just having some fun okay...

Ami was sorely disappointed to find out that the presumed "she" was a "he." Just her luck. Well he seemed nice enough, and she didn't want to be rude. She could do this.

As soon as the boy spoke, she knew she couldn't do this. He was making her feel extremely uncomfortable, and she was blushing in spite of herself. Ami was one of those people that blushed just from a compliment. This mission wasn't going to be easy. A thought occured to her. Maybe this wasn't Dakota! Maybe he just ... happened to be meeting his date in the exact spot she was meeting Dakota. After all, the end of the corridor was a ... a very popular place. Yeah! That must've been it.

"UH. S-Sorry, this isn't a blind date, I think you might have the wrong person," she said, trying to worm her way out of it. "Unless you're ... Dakota?" she asked. Please let him say no, please let him say no.

Dakota grin only widened at the blush before he got the urge to tease her. Like super tease her.

"Oh...Not a blind date? That's too bad, I'm partial to meeting new ladies all the time." He rubbed his chin before shrugging, "Nah, I just go this text message saying someone needed help..." He showed her the glowy screen before he grinned again, flipping it closed.

"Yep, Dakota Rainstar, Moon division extraordinaire and well...." He grinned, "A ladies gentleman." He waggled his eyebrows before coming closer.

"Are you sure its not a blind date babe? Cause your turning redder then a Irish kid on a California beach..."

He frowned before thinking, "though we'll have to save the flirtations for later right...You had a mission?..."

Ami could've crawled in a hole and died. This was the Dakota she'd texted. Dammit, next time she'd make sure she had a name that wasn't androgynous. God damn it all.

"Definitely not a date," she said sternly, summoning Junpei as if to further prove her point. She attempted to control her blushing from all the discomfort. It was most definitely a mission. In reciprocation to his step forward, she took one back. "We're going to a ... a ..." The words escaped her as she tried to avoid Dakota's gaze.

< Haunted house. > Junpei added, trying to be helpful.

"Yes that. A Haunted house. Next to an asylum," she said, temporarily forgetting that not everyone could heard Junpei. She turned around to head towards the portal. Biting her lip, though he couldn't see it, she said, "And I'm Ami."

Yes Ami, Yes. This is the Dakota you would get. This flirty, perverted somewhat creepish Dakota.

Nothing like the sweet innocent Dakota fanning...no.

"Really?" Dakota's face fell as he sighed, "We're going to-" He tried to help her spit it out but with the way she was blushing and flustering at him. It was adorable....OH! Had he finally gotten lucky? did she fall for his looks at first sight? Would be the one to finally treat him more then a little kid?

"Now now, Don't be shy Babe." He continued to step forward and leaned over to whisper in her ear...."I don't bite hard....on the first date."

He didn't turn his head as she talked to herself, assuming it was actually her weapon before shrugging. "The place don't matter babe, I'm into it." He grinned again, "Though a huanted house will be oh so fun..." He held out his hand for her, "If your scared while we're there, you can just hold on to me."

He nodded respectfully. "Nice to meetcha Ami, pretty name by the way. Ready to go?" He tugged her towards the portal, waving to the hunters watching them.

Ami instinctively elbowed the boy (not hard, of course) when he came up and whispered in her ear. She was not okay with this. Not at all. Should she maybe abort the mission?

No. She could do this. It was just a boy after all. A teenager even. She could handle a teenage boy for some set number of hours. With any luck, they'd get lost in the haunted house, and she wouldn't have to deal with it. Hopefully her fear of haunted houses and scary movies wouldn't play into this.

< S'okay Ami, I'm here! > Junpei tried to offer helpfully.

Some good you'll do, she retorted.

While Junpei whined in her head, Ami tried to focus on the mission in front of her. She stepped into the portal, and disappeared.

When she arrived, a giant haunted house loomed above her. Nervously, she waited for Dakota to come through the portal. Suddenly she was having second thoughts. Maybe she really WOULD need to hold someone's hand. "Are you ready?" she said tentatively.

Dakota blinked as they dropped from the portal before grinning. Something about the portal drops always made him a little ligtheaded and whooshy feeling. He looked at Ami as she had made it there first before looking around.

Whistling at the sight of the house, he blinked before grinning widely. "Sure you don't wanna hold my hand babe?" he's grin widened at her hesitation of entering before taking the lead and heading to the porch of the house.

"Don't tell me your scared of some old ricky house like this...with all that we've seen?" Dakota crossed his arms over his neck, resting them on the crook where his neck and spine met before testing the stability of the rotten wood.

"Place looks like it needs to be tore down and rebuilt-" His eyes widened as the house groaned in response to his words. Huh? Was that the wind?

That hand was seriously looking good right now. Sure she'd killed people before, faced the pod trials and all, but something about this house was scary. Call it jittery nerves, but she was nervous.

"Yeah, no thanks." Despite her nervousness, her cold side was showing through still. This boy made her uncomfortable, and it was showing. Luckily for her, he went ahead of her and left her scowling at nothing.

The house groaned, and her eyes went a bit wider, her mouth a bit thinner, but she didn't say anything. Mostly just looked around, alert. She ducked inside the house, looking around. It was a single room- much smaller than what she had imagine- and was pretty ordinary, if not a bit decrepit.

As a defense specialist, her first instinct was investigating the entrances- the only ones this place really had was a door and a few windows. The door she had walked through, so her next option was the window. As she looked out, she noticed a silhouette on the horizon- a building of some sort. From her brief, she knew that was the old asylum. A shiver ran down her spine. "Look at that," she said, pointing towards the window. Dakota may have been her last choice of companionship, but in this creepy house he was her only companionship.

He grinned as she rejected his hand before shrugging. "Suit yourself cutie, but don't be upset when I don't offer my hand again to keep you 'safe' ".

He entered after and looked around the old place. It didn't seem to stand out besides the fact that its boards and structure was old. If they seriously came to inspect some old rickety house, Dakota would be a little disappointed. He took another step as Ami walked the room and checked for exits.

His turned and followed her gaze to the asylum that was in the distance, outlining in the window with a creepy...if not foreboding temptation.

"We should check it out." He whispered excitingly.

Ami looked around the shack for a moment or two, then up at Dakota. She was trying to make a decision. Stay in the nice, seemingly safe haunted house and get nothing, or go visit the creepy as hell asylum and possible learn something. Her safety, her job- which did she value more. Quite frankly if she failed her job, she might have to fear for her safety.

"Fine," she said, lips pursed tightly. She picked up Junpei from where she'd leaned him against the sill and headed towards the door, coat flying.

As she stepped towards the asylum she noticed small markers on the ground- grave markers. They started on the left side and bunched together towards the direction of the asylum. This just kept getting creepier. "Dakota? Dakota you there?" she called out. Okay so she didn't like the guy, but the chills that were going up and down her back weren't really appreciated at the moment.

He was way ahead of her now, heading up the hill for the Asylum. Although the place was creepy as hell, he couldn't help to be curious. He watched as Ami joined, looking at gravemarkers.

his eyes though, caught on something else. In the window...no was it the window? Perhaps a door. His eyes met a shadowy figure, of something or somebody. Huh...must really be Ghost. Before he could even move to look more, Ami's voice rang out.

Sighing, he looked back again and nothing. Shame.

"Right here Darling." Dakota slid up to her, wrapping his arms around her shoulders. "Did you get scared while Papa was away?"

Ami continued to stare at the asylum, finding herself strangely enraptured in the eeriness of it all. It reminded her of something out of Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. Sneaking around at night, trying to find the ghosties and the bad guys.

Except in the book, they were all made up in poor Catherine's head. Ami was about ninety percent sure that this wasn't imaginary- she wasn't going to wake up and find that the asylum was gone, Dakota was real and the demons were fake.

She thought she saw a figure standing up by the asylum, and was about to call out to it when Dakota's arms slipped around her shoulders, jarring her out of whatever trance she had been in. She instinctively wiggled out of it immediately, and elbowed him in the stomach directly.

Ami swiveled around and had Junpei extended so closely to Dakota's stomach you would think that he was the enemy. "Don't," was all she muttered, trying to keep the anger out of her voice. Ami was not ******** around here.

Dakota took the jab to the stomach well. A small oof, loosening of her shoulders and dropping to rub his tummy with a scowl. His scowl only deepened as she pointed her weapon at him causing the younger hunter to raise an eyebrow at her before calmly stating:

"Chill Ami." Dakota breathed in before pushing her weapon away and his scowl changed. It turned to his normal grinning his face as he tucked his hands into his coat pocket.

"I didn't see anything but headstones and a figure up at the top. Probably some homeless bum making the creepy place his home." Dakota shrugged, "You satisfied darling or would you like a little more thrill chills?" He winked at her, "I'm always here to hold you again if you get terrified."
